This is a nice place. Everything is new and inviting and they have two story laser tag. The bowling, especially on the fancy lanes side, is a lot of fun. Those lanes have funny games I have never seen before like Angry Birds Bowling, a Halloween one, playing Horse, etc. They are a blast to play with friends, not to mention there is two story laser tag. I have been going here since being invited to their family and friends grand opening. I actually got to tour the place while it was under construction, a few months before opening. The arcade may seem a bit smaller than Big Al's in Beaverton but it feels like there are the same amount of games. The prize options at Big Al's would be a section that wins as they do offer some high end stuff if you really think you can win that amount of tickets (I do not). Even if it is smaller, they more than make up for it with a massive two story laser tag arena that can have 20+ people playing at once. You can do teams, free for all, and every now and again I have even played an elimination round. Superplay in Beaverton is the closest I can think in size for laser tag but the rest of their facility pales in comparison. Kingpins also has virtual reality. This is something I thought wouldn't be fun but it is a blast, literally! My favorite game is the snowball fight. It is just so much fun to steal coins from everyone else and hear them complain! The company that makes it seems to add 1-2 games a year so that is also cool. If you sign up for their mailing list, they let you know of awesome unlimited play specials they run around holidays and other times throughout the year. It is hard to say no to playing unlimited two story laser day all day for only 7 bucks! Fun experience! Loved that you could play specialty games rather than just normal bowling. The kids got a kick out of that. Sort of evens the playing field if you have someone who is really good. We just had drinks no food but our service was awesome. Music playing loudly, comfy couches. It is a great place for kids or adults or combined groups! Younger kid parties going on, teen parties and while we were there during mid day, I could see adult parties happening later on in the night. I'll start by saying the bowling alley and the "tap house" are completely different experiences. This is a newer bowling alley, so understandably it was really busy- a 2 hour wait for a lane. They luckily will take your name and text you when it's ready which was appreciated. The lanes themselves were really nice and the staff in that area was attentive. Note that in the evening and weekends they charge by the hour rather than by game. Because of the wait, we went to the tap house inside the bowling alley. "Tap house" seems like a generous term when most of the beers are domestic. With 3 adults and one kid we ordered 2 orders of steak bites, 1 order of pretzel sticks, taquitos and a few drinks. All of the food was terrible, we didn't have super high expectations given that it's a bowling alley, but for being priced like a restaurant it was definitely not in like with the quality. Everything was greasy, bland, and tasted like it was fresh out of the microwave. On top of this, the service was absolutely awful. It's seat yourself and it was about 20-30 minutes before we saw any waitstaff we could ask to come help us. Once we did get a waitress, she took our order and we didn't see her again until she brought one of the 4 things we ordered. She dropped one order of steak bites at our table and walked away with no explanation as to where the rest of it was and also didn't offer to refill any of the empty drinks. After that one order was gone, she came by to clear that dish and again didn't acknowledge that we still didn't have the rest of what we ordered- mind you, this is 30 minutes after she dropped the one dish with us. We asked her and she said she would find out. She then brings the rest of it out and says she added some steak bites since she accidentally brought those out separately earlier- we reminded her that no, we actually ordered 2 of those. She never refilled our drinks in the 2 hours we were there, and when we asked for our check it was another 30+ minutes and the first time I've ever been tempted to just walk out. We eventually had to flag someone down to get our check because our lane was called- so it took a total of 2+ hours to get out of there. I'm hoping the issues are specific to this waitress and not an overall view of what to expect there, but the food was so terrible I wouldn't be willing to find out. The restaurant/tap house area aside it's a nice new place. It's $32/hour in the evening which seemed a little on the pricy side given we barely made it through one game with 4 people but it was fun and nice in there. Be prepared for a busy parking lot, the parking is tight and they share a pretty small lot with several restaurants. read more

4.5 stars, perhaps. The boyfriend and I were across the way at Roxy's for dinner, but we noticed a sign saying they didn't take credit/debit cards - CASH ONLY. The nearest ATM was in Sunset Lanes, so we reluctantly walked in and HOLY CRAP. This place was a-poppin'! I have never seen so many geezers knock those bowling pins so well. We decided to stay here to avoid an ATM fee and walking back over there. My boyfriend asked me, "How good can bowling alley food really be?" Well, it was delicious. It's a tad bit expensive for being bowling alley food, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. The rest of their menu looked awesome, and the alley is one of the best I've ever seen. I'm not a bowler, but when I go to the lanes, my inner Lebowski comes out... We went for the Cosmic Bowling, and it was pretty fun. The whole place turns into a glow in the dark adventure. The walls glow, the balls glow, even the stitching in the shoes glows. They also play a good mix of bad music videos. They also have an excellent list of microbrews. The food was a lot better than I expected, standard pub fare, but pretty good. There is a game area with a few video games and air hockey... So we were about to leave. Manager caught us on our way out said he will send staff over. 2. We got fun card paid for that virtuality game then order food. Reasonable wait time Sliders came out bland-- will not eat there again. Garlic fries came just regular fries. Asked for water, the waitress didn't bring any and didn't care to check back. It's a hot day. Train your staff to be a little caring. This is a kind of service that don't deserve tip at all. 3. At the virtuality game are, a female staff with bob hair said there's event going on the other side of the place and she said so people with yellow wrist band come they will get to play first. What?!? You really need to walk up to tell me that we are not important? Wow. I don't care kids are in line. You can't do this. Those adults need to wait for their turn. Individual customers are regular neighbors, your establishments. Staff shouldn't value group from work over or vise versa. Play fair. read more

It just took me one hour and ten minutes to get a water! Waitress dropped off menus to our large group then never came back to take our order. Service was very poor. We just tried Kingpins tonight, excited that we didn't have to drive to BigAls. Unfortunately the drive would have been worth it. The food at Big Al's is so good it would have been hard for this place to compete, but we gave it a try. Mediterranean Wrap- solid B+ but side salad drenched in dressing and lettuce limp. BLT -solid B+ (lots of good bacon) but same issue with side salad. Kids meals- D (sorry but I can feed 4 kids Kraft mac n cheese at home) small bowls with a few mandarin oranges. At least at Red Robin it's refillable. Overall, just ok. The menu is generic- nothing exciting. Same old, same old. Games seem more expensive and fewer options. We did not bowl this time. I think next time we'll make the drive to Big Al's. read more

Wow the New King pin is very nice. In the regular bowling area there is about I think there was 24 lanes which was less then Sunset lanes but it makes up for the Tap room area with its own bar. I love the new Arcade arena the games are really super cool we won so many cool toys there is a huge claw machine super fun I won a large bouncy ball. I have not tried the Laser tag yet nor the virtual game it was fun watching people play. Come check it out you'll enjoy it I'm going back for more. read more

We went to King Pins on June 23rd, 2021 and it was such a great experience! Not only was the establishment clean, attentive and fun but they had awesome customer service! We thought we misplaced our credit card so our server, Jamie and his wonderful manager went above and beyond to try to find it. They searched everywhere to find it when we realized that we had just put it in my purse instead of my husband's wallet. Totally our fault but they were so kind to look so hard for it! This place is awesome in that it's still the old school bowling alley you grew up with and love, but it's put a modern, way cleaner, cooler twist on it. There are huge projector TV screens that place everything from sports to music videos (depending on what's cool at the moment), and the latest technology in the bowling world too with cool scoring software and new feeling seats and lanes that don't make you feel like you have to shower when you get home (you know what I'm talking about). The quartermania evenings are the best if you plan to play a few games, a reasonable cover and then cheap games as long as you can handle playing. I also have to give them huge accolades in the event space too- I've done several large scale events with them, and their event manager, Phil, and staff are INCREDIBLE. Like, knock your socks off. Anything I forgot, or could've anticipated needing (extra food, game cards, drink tickets, etc) they had already done by the time I thought to ask them. Also, they're just generally nice people, and still understand the lost art of customer service. High five, guys! Love it. read more

We had made a reservation for 3 lanes and they had everything setup nicely and we were able to get started with bowling immediately upon arrival For $60 you can reserve a lane for 2 hours with shoes included for upto 6 players max per lane. We came, we tried... & we left. It was filled with Teenagers and 21 year olds. We wanted to grab a beer and a game but the kids were spread out 2 in a group in most cases and there were no seats in site at either side. We checked out some of the arcade game prices looked like $1.60 per game mostly. We were hungry, so we left. Came here on Halloween and had the best experience! Since they recently opened up their bowling lanes, everything was handled well despite the fact it is COVID times! The place is pretty cool but 2 major complaints. First I understand Saturday nights are busy however getting the attention of my bartender to close a tab was impossible. I just left cash hoping it was enough to cover. I was in a hurry because my lane became available. When I got to my lane, my friend and I were there for one hour of bowling in that entire hour the server never once asked if we wanted a drink or any food. I don't know if bowling in the tap house is run different but that was a joke. Will have to think long and hard about coming back. Topgolf seems to be the place to be now instead of bowling. read more

What an amazing night! My entire family came to Kingpins after my grandfather's memorial service. There was only one lane available but we found a couple nearby tables and there was room for everyone. What was amazing was the service! First, Blake, who I know was very new to serving, took great care of us. He kept track of all of us, even though we were all in different places and all over. He was quick and efficient and helpful and kind. Also, Jeremy at the front desk was able to get us another hour on our lane and checked on us many times. He was helpful and kind and also made me laugh several times. After such a hard and sad day, it was exactly what we needed and also exactly how my grandfather would have wanted us to end our day remembering him. Thank you, Kingpins. Went yesterday to check it out. They've been open for three days. Ate at the tap house. Good beer selection. Server Hannah gave us a recommendation that worked well for us. Ordered a meat pizza (gluten free), Caesar salad, steak bites, and tots. Food came out promptly, the service was friendly. The food is good but I will get the flavored tots the next time. It's a seat yourself kind of place. The parking lot is shared with McMenamins and the new Roxy's. Two areas to bowl. One is near the bar so that makes it easy to keep drinking. Two bathroom locations. Games/arcade area is front and center. Nice spot to hang out even if not bowling. I wanna go there for happy hour 3-6. Tacos! Try the VR (virtual reality) game in the arcade! We did not have a good experience. My husband ordered a specific burger (the one with blue cheese and bacon) and got a regular burger and no blue cheese crumbles. I had a wrap that was drenched in sauce and barely any filling. Service was slow and just not a good experience. We spent $70 on a meal we hated. read more

Surprised to see what a robust turnout this placed commands even on unusually chilly nights, especially when NFL is on the tube! What made it all the more surprising was the predominance of young adults in attendance. A fun night is practically guaranteed down at Sunset, and their cantina served up surprisingly palatable nachos and pizza as well as a broad variety o' suds and desserts. One star removed b/c: Over $ 200 for 4 lanes, for 2 hours?!? And that doesn't even include the price of shoes?!? This is one of those Rip Van Winkle moments... where it's as though I've awoken from a million-year slumber, and everything is so incredibly different and strange, yet no one else seems to notice. Obviously I'm a musty old turd, but jeez, I can recall buck a lane prices, folks! Also, and this will seem quite obscure undoubtedly to some, but the Devil is in the details, as they say, and it is frankly disappointing and a little troubling to be in a bowling alley where there are no vintage arcade games---- and no Funyuns or Munchos! Fun for the family as far as lanes and games but it's pretty overpriced and the food service is AWFUL. We got sat at a table after spending a few hours bowling and playing arcade games. The ditsy server just never came back and after about 20 minutes we got up and went over to the restaurant across the street. The kicker is that we were the only table in the seating area!! BUT, the same thing happened at our lane. We called for service on screen and it took at least 30 mins for them to come over. So this wasn't a one-off. I've been here about 3-4x as a guest for birthday parties. The parents that host the parties have voiced their frustrations with service level for their kids parties. As a guest, I didn't experience the same frustration until tonight. First, there were a few non- functioning games. Not a big deal but on a Saturday, one would think all games should be functioning. Next, the young workers at the prize station have no understanding what customer service is, especially a young gal name Molly and her teenage worker friends. My 5 year old daughter had 620 tickets, she pick prizes totaling 650. We went to check out and molly indicated that we were short about 30 tickets. At first, I told her I could pay for the difference. She said that wasn't possible and she was not willing to round up to allow my daughter to get the prizes she wanted. This cause my daughter to be extremely upset and I was also upset at the lack of flexibility for rounding up. It's 30 tickets!!! It's as simple as rounding up!! I told her I was not happy about this poor service. I explained that I've been in this situation before, and they've always rounded up for us. This is the first time they won't agree to round up. Molly went to talk to another teenager girl working there, who tried to intimidate me by getting snarky, making comments about if I'm having a bad day. Bottom line: the teenage girls working at the prize station this evening are disrespectful and lack customer service. Management needs to retrain them or fire them. There's no place for being disrespectful to parents/customers who are paying a fortune at this place. Won't be coming back! read more

Solid B- rating for this visit- After watching this place take shape we were really excited to try it only to have sub par bland food. A member of my party had the burger with pulled pork and an egg on it and he said it was super bland-same with my wrap (they also forgot my fries). The fries were good and crispy. Our 4 person table the food order took over 15 to receive and we were the only ones ordering in our section. They are still working out some kinks like lighting and bringing your whole order out at once so we will try again later and hope for improvements. It has a great atmosphere but needs a pool table or DJ to bring in more traffic. read more
