I used to go to Kings chef all the time and the quality of the food has definitely gone down hill. The prices like most places have gone up, but the food just isn't as fresh as it used to be. The employees are friendly. The restaurant looks its age and needs to be updated. I had wanton soup one time and it tasted like chemicals. The egg rolls were over fried and just an oily mess.. What has happened to the King Chef we used to know and love? Living in the Village of Liverpool, we used to order there frequently but for the past year, or so, the food's been subpar. We're willing to give any establishment multiple opportunities as anyone can have an off night, but now we feel taken advantage of. Last Thursday was the final straw. Lo mein so terrible no one would eat it and we dumped the entire container. The crab rangoons contained a quarter teaspoon of filling and the General Tso chicken was as mild as could be. I really wasn't in the mood for pizza and just so happen to have a flyer for here and decided to order. It was really tasty! We ordered a whole bunch of food to make it more family style. We ordered beef and veggies, garlic chicken, pork and veggies, and curry chicken. I really enjoyed all of it for the most part. I probably wouldn't get the pork again. It was tasty, but I felt there was just something missing I couldn't put my finger on. The garlic chicken was top notch. I rank it on top when it comes to Asian delivery. They told us 45 minutes, but my delivery expertise knew that wasn't right. I was right on point, because they came in about 25! I am in no way complaining about that! The price was good too! This place is without a doubt the absolute WORST place I've ever ordered food from and I've had my fair share of crappy food. I ordered seseme chicken with white rice and the food was cold when I went to eat it and that doesnt even cover all my issues. The rice tasted like it had sat out for quite some time and the seseme chicken tasted like it was cooked in a gallon of oil and had no seseme flavor whatsoever to it. There was no seseme sauce in the container to dip my chicken in or mix my rice in and the chicken was also very dry. I ate 4 bites before I threw it in the trash. If it was not for the fact that I was on my lunch break when I picked this garbage up I would've taken it back and had it either redone or my money refunded. Food was easy to order on the phone. Delivery driver had a hard time understanding me and had a hard time finding my building even though I explained where it was multiple times. This place is old and dirty. Food is all American Chinese style, not authentic at all. Customer service is awful and the lady in the front desk is very rude and judgmental about the appearance of the customers. So if you don't have a "normal body figure", prepare to be mocked at and stared at in a very weird way as an animal in the zoo. I live right across the street,yet never tried them. Real Shitaki mushrooms which I notice a lot of places don't use. Piping hot food. This is my go-to spot while I'm at work. I only knocked off a star (would've been half a star) because I find their fried stuff (egg rolls and fried rice) to be a little greasy. The pints, however, are fantastic. My favorites are the boneless spare ribs, orange chicken, and the shrimp or chicken with broccoli. The sauce on the latter is excellent, so rich and almost like a gravy. They deliver very quickly and the food is so hot when it arrives that it has to cool down.
