The food and service is decent. It isn't the best but definitely not the worst. I'm not a fan of the fact the dishes listed as spicy are not spicy at all. The food definitely leans sweet. I do like that it is saucy and the vegetables are cooked nicely. I really like the fried dumplings and sauce they come with. The roast pork lo mein is also really good and not super greasy. A lot of the sauces taste similar to each other and not much differentiation. I remember getting their general tso's 20 years ago and it would actually be very spicy. They give good size portions but the prices have gone up a bit over the years, but I guess they have everywhere so not a huge complaint. read more

I ordered online was able to pay at pick up in cash. Online ordering says to allow for twenty minutes for pickup. The food was hot and ready on time pick up was fast and easy. Though I will say this is my first time ordering and the signage out front no longer lights up, the light up menus inside are not functional, and the clutter of boxes and disarray is off putting. That being said the service was fast and the prices fair. Steady stream of customers indicated it is popular amongst locals. Portions were good size, however the quality was a bit lacking on some of the items. The crab Rangoon had very little crab or filling less than a tsp per Rangoon, I threw the majority of them away and this is typically one of my favorite appetizers. The house fried rice was lacking in shrimp, meat, and vegetables. Disappointing for $11.99 for quart. Orange chicken and fried rice was a large portion, some of the chicken was fatty and chewy. An egg roll did come with the entree which I did not realize and ordered two shrimp egg rolls. Tons of food for about $35 just wish the quality of some of the items was better. Great classic Chinese food, both Cantonese and Schezuan. Gets really busy though from Friday afternoons to Saturdays all day and night. They suggested to either call in your orders or order online instead of just walking in, as you will wait much longer than if you were to have ordered ahead. We have been ordering from China Wong for quite some time now. It has never failed to deliver tasty food for a great price. The staff are super nice and delivery is usually much faster than they say it will be. I mean no joke, we will order, they will say 45 minutes, and we have seen them show up in 25-30. Love it I recommend getting their awesome dumplings! The sauce is so good that no other take out can Event compare. They also have really good flavors for their classics like chicken with garlic sauce and beef and broccoli. Their fried rices is always so yummy with big chunks of pork. The only down fall to eating here, is that on occasion your dishes will have way more veggie than meat. I being a huge meat lover really enjoy my dish packed with meat. Other than that, an awesome place to get take out. My high score is comparing this to other take outs as it's obviously not a sit down or fine dining restaurant. Just an honest opinion: this Chinese food is subpar at best. Went real safe for first order (General Tso's Chicken combo -- w fried rice and an egg roll). Also tried the egg drop soup. The chicken and sauce stunk and was too sugary (even the worst chinese places I've tried had OK GT chicken). The pork fried rice was basic as can be. No pork/onions/other veggies to be found. Was the fake yellow colored fried rice with no real flavor--nothing to write home about. The egg roll was absolutely gross, soggy with basically just cabbage inside. Egg drop soup was OK, but I've had waaaaay better. I am a person who tries to eat healthy, but every once and awhile we all get the urge for some good chinese take-out. This is not it! Will leave you sitting there feeling disgusting and ashamed with your craving far from satisfied. read more

My crab ragoons were basically empty, I was very disappointed, however, the lo mein was on the spot.

I am growing accustomed to experiencing mediocre Chinese food in the Syracuse area. Since mediocrity is the normal in this area, then China Wong is just another normal Chinese food take out place. The widespread use of frozen, prepared foods along with pre-cooked fried foods allows this restaurant and others to have your meal ready in 10 minutes. Unfortunately, while the food is quickly made ready, the food is also poorly made. Sesame chicken was attractively presented and still warm upon arrival where I was eating although, the sauce was thick, syrupy and very sweet. The "crispy" chicken coating gave new meaning to rubber chicken. The chicken itself could not be appreciated because of the sauce and distracting coating. Steamed dumplings were very bland. Fried wontons were also flavorless, except for the heavy fried oil taste that remained in the fried wrappers. Can't fault this place for consistency ! I would call the pork with Chinese vegetables good if I had only skipped the pork. All in all, if you like barely average take out Chinese food, here's a place for you. read more

The food is very good. I'm slowly becoming a regular because of their egg drop soup. I give this a 2 star because I recently noticed that the egg drop soup I always order started having some black debris in it. At first I just let it go since it seemed harmless and I just take it out if my soup. Today I ordered the same soup and found a bug in it. I have been ordering from these folks for over 10 years. (I believe it maybe run by the same family all of these years.) I remember seeing the children sitting quietly in the dining area working on their homework, years ago. Parents tend to make the best cooks. My family tends to order the same thing everytime. General Tso's, Sesame Chicken, Vegetable Lo Mein, Chicken Ho Fun, Hot and Sour Soup, and Crab Ragoons. We have never been disappointed. Last spring I had a sore throat and was constantly coughing. So, whenever I got out of work at 9:30 pm, I would stop by for a quart of the best Hot and Sour soup. Definitely the best take out Chinese food in Liverpool and most of Syracuse(rest in peace Hing Sing :( ) China Wong offers exactly what you would expect. There is a wide variety of chicken, beef and vegetable dishes. A nice bonus is that depending on how much you order, they throw in additional free items including tasty egg rolls. My personal favorite is the general Tso chicken with white rice. The spice is just right in this dish and I really enjoy the flavor. The pork egg roll compliments this dish well also. Most any dish that I have had has not let me down. The delivery personnel are also very friendly and always deliver my food on time! Ordered for the first time last night (vegetable chop suey, salt & pepper tofu and moo shu vegetables). Food was hot, fresh and delicious and took less than 15 minutes. AND - they had the real moo shu pancakes (the thin rice flour), not the weird tortillas a lot of places have started to use. We'll definitely be back! p.s.
