Ok so I've been hearing about this place FOREVER and finally on Sunday I decided to stop by. Now walking in to the left is the restaurant area and you can pick up to the right. There was a bit of a line but I was fine with it since I called in in advance. As I finished paying with the waitress (who was pleasant) I see them reloading this oven up with freshly fried chicken (huge pieces at that) so I was excited about my order when I walked out. I ordered fried chicken with sweet potatoes and baked mac and cheese. 2nd order was baked chicken, collard greens and yellow rice. the pictures make the food look larger than what it really was. The fried chicken were small pieces and had no seasoning which was shocking for a soul food spot. The mac and cheese was just ok nothing social about it. The sweet potatoes were the only thing I liked not too sweet just right. 2nd order the baked chicken, greens and the rice, had no flavor. The whole plate went to waste. I couldn't believe it, my friend was so disappointed in her food. Even the dessert was not good. The sweet potato cobbler needed some type of sugar added to it. The banana pudding was just ok. I couldn't tell if they made the pudding themselves or not. The Red Velvet cake was also just ok a little dry. I spent $40 and most of the food went to waste. I won't be returning.

I visited on a Sunday morning to order take out. The staff was very welcoming . I ordered catfish with yams , cabbage and a piece of cake. The fish and cabbage was cooked well. The yams look like they were out of a can and taste really bad. The cake did not taste good almost like it was going bad, probably needs to be refrigerated.

We came for the Oxtail burger but on this day they were only making beef burgers, lamb burgers, and catfish sandwiches. The bonus, however, was the BBQ offerings in the backyard -- Mac n cheese, corn on the cob, fries, and plantains! Between the awesome cheeseburger and lamb burger, I was in seventh heaven. We had a great time sitting on the lawn and celebrating this glorious day with our brothers and sisters.

Shortly after, another couple came in and were told about 20 minutes. We were the only two parties waiting. When a table opened, the waitress began seating us, and the chef stopped her and asked the other (AA) couple if they were there first. He then told the gentleman, "I see you with family, and I'm not trying to start any problems." This was said while we were literally being seated, and nothing was said to us. It put us in an awkward and embarrassing position, as we would never intentionally skip ahead of anyone. As a Hispanic couple, the interaction also left us wondering if we were being treated differently, even if that wasn't the intention. Then the drink order added to the frustration. I ordered a hibiscus lemonade and my boyfriend ordered a regular lemonade. The waitress repeated it back incorrectly as strawberry, and I corrected her. About 10 minutes later she brought a strawberry lemonade anyway. When I said that wasn't what I ordered, the chef took the drink and handed it to the other couple who had just ordered a strawberry lemonade , saying it was freshly made and "they didn't want it." That was uncomfortable because I never ordered strawberry to begin with. Overall, the interaction felt dismissive and awkward. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled -- especially the comments made -- left us feeling unwelcome. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and customer experience moving forward.

She called back and played an Italian cheesesteak order and they didn't chop the meat. I wa son the phone when she said please remember to chop the meat when she got into the store. They still gave unchopped beef. I posted the video of the sandwich when it arrived to me on snap chat and someone commented "I hope you didn't get that from the east orange location and if it is from there I hope you didn't call it in or they will F it up". That's a shame that the customers know their order will be ruined because you call the order in. I didn't eat the sandwich because the meat was chewy so those expensive sandwiches should really be no more than $10. The salad my friend had wasn't made with care. It was still filled with water so it pooled at the bottom of container If youre prices are going to be that high so should the customer service and the food quality.

I immediately stopped on the Vietnamese restaurant with almost a perfect rating at 4.9 stars and 500+ reviews. I'm equally excited, and skeptical. NY/NJ residents aren't the easiest to win over. I walked maybe 6 min to the restaurant. It was a nice sized store front with a well lit dining room, and self and full service kiosk. I was immediately greeted by the staff, I chose to do self serve. Even with that, I still felt very welcomed and engaged once I placed my order. All the items were displayed, and looked fresh. The staff carefully put together a teriyaki salad bowl, and pho for me in about 10 minutes. Once I got the food to my hotel room, I was genuinely impressed. The Pho was so rich in flavor, without being too salty. The noodles were the perfect texture. 10/10. A few hours later after the gym I cracked open the salad bowl. This was referred to me by the staff vs the lemon grass chicken. I am glad I listened, the amount of tender juicy chicken is impressive. The crispy lettuce, and robust tomatoes were a great combination of healthy, and hearty. Bahn & Bo deserves the accolades it's earned, and the one I made up at the beginning. Pro tip: The prices are so good, and so are the portion sizes. If you are looking for fresher, lighter, healthier, skip the Chipotle and Qdobas around the corner, and come here.

Before Jersey Mike's. Before Blimpie…read more Before Firehouse Subs. Before Subway. Before Jimmy John's. Before (okay, you get the idea)... there was Big Stash's. A (local) institution. Long before the likes of Subs Galore (a few blocks away) tried to rock the boat, Stash's was the only game in town (for a whole lotta years). I grew up two blocks away and I'm positive I put the original owner's kids through college with all the money I dropped here. After hearing new owners decided to keep the lights on I had to make an effort to get over here to show my support. Walking into the new Stash's... the place received a 'glow-up' (I'm entirely too old to be trying to use hip slang!) and loved that they decided to keep the framed Scott Baio picture (one of these days I'll share the 'deets' on that!). Surprised to see a few new menu additions (coffee?! Taylor ham?! Manhattan Special Espresso Soda?!) as well as being open more days and longer hours. For the sake of history I had to try their 'Belly Buster' and the kid handed me the sub in a box. ("Huh?! This is a weird gimmick.") But when I got home to open the box I understood 'why' - no wax paper and standard paper bag would've been able to hold this beast together. Just a ridiculous amount of (Thumann's) cold cuts and toppings that the (decent) bread tried in vain to keep together. "Bang for your buck" - you won't find a better deal. But for me it was TOO much and there's definitely an 'art' and a 'balance' to the ratio of meat to toppings to bread and Stash's is a bit TOO generous for my liking. One odd tidbit that brought me back to my youth and the old Stash's... that "stinky sub smell" that you just can't get off of your hands (and body) - no matter how many times you wash your hands, brush your teeth, take a shower, you name it. (Sadly it's Pavlovian for me to want/need a Clinton's iced tea when devouring a Stash's sub but that's no longer an option.) I hope they have another fifty years of prosperity down there in West Hudson!
