21 $ grocery store rotisserie. I know, sounds weird to me too.
    Christina R.

Didn't realize until I got home, but I was charged 21$ for a rotisserie chicken. In comparison, I just left Whole Foods and paid 8$ for an organic chicken. This grocery store is taking advantage of the clientele in mendham.

Lamb chops a whole foods in Columbus circle which are 21.99 a pound. Kings in Mendham sells lamb chops for 29.99 a pound. Crazy!

You can choose organic or regular. I can honestly say that Wegmans has the best fruits and vegetables with a large variety to choose from. They have a wonderful fresh Fish Department and custom Meat Department . Wegmans has a large organic section and a regular section side by side. You can decide what price point you want to spend. They sell boneless short ribs which are so meaty and delicious when braised. I've bought them several times. Sometimes they put them on sale and it's cheaper than ShopRite. Wegmans also sells large quantities of ground beef, pork tenderloin, brisket, steaks and other meats for large families or a party. They have a Butcher Department if you want hand cut Meats like Steaks and Chops. They have an entire section of Prepared Foods for anyone who doesn't like to cook or is pressed for time. You can just pick it up and go. In the front of the store, they have people making homemade Pizza, and there's a Food Bar with prepared Wings and things along with a Bakery section where they sell all kinds of artisan, breads, pastries, and cakes. There's a Cookie and Pastry Bar too. They also have a great Cheese Department. They sell cheeses from all over the world, and they have people standing by to answer your questions or help you with a selection. They also have a nice Deli Section. They have pre-sliced meats if you're interested in making a charcuterie board or just picking up some extras, they sell different grades of Prosciutto, including Prosciutto di Parma, which is out of this world. They have wonderful Olives, Roasted Peppers, fresh Mozzarella, Feta and more. I love their own brand of homemade Raviolis. One of my favorites is Cacio e Pepe and during the fall, pumpkin Ravioli, or Pumpkin Green Gnocchi. Believe it or not, they put a lot of things on sale. My suggestion is to download the Wegmans app for coupons and discounts. You can also find interesting healthy recipes. Every week there are many specials and sales. This store gets very, very busy but it's definitely a place for foodies like myself. Everything is neatly displayed. The produce department is great! The sell homemade Soaps and Natural Products. Wegman's is very casual, and they're into sustainability. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This Wegmans also has a wonderful Beer and Liquor Department right in the store. They proof everyone even if you're over 40. If you're like me this will be your favorite place to shop

Near the hot food bar, there are tables and chairs where you can sit down and enjoy your meal, which is a nice touch. My personal favorite from the hot bar are their wings--every flavor is 10/10. From the bakery, the key lime pie is my absolute favorite--you can't go wrong with it. I've even ordered wings, pizza, and pasta for a Super Bowl party, and my family still talks about it! The store is beautifully laid out, employees are always helpful, checkout is smooth, and there's plenty of parking. Don't forget to check their app for coupons and promotions. Wegmans makes shopping stress-free and enjoyable every time!

When they ring us up, they have always defaulted to organic, even when it's not organic. One employee stated he didn't even know that they carried non-organic items. Also, today, they charged us for large avocados, even though they were puny. We had to go back. Then they messed up the refund, and didn't give us the Prime discount. So they had to ring it again. The deli had a young man working there that used to be the only one who would follow our instructions on how we wanted our deli meat. Now, we get people who shave the meat a bit and then proceed to do whatever they want, even when it's not busy. During the period of COVID where masks were mandated. I witnessed multiple employees stocking shelves with their masks worn as gags. The meat department people are fantastic. They always do a great job. They answer questions and let you choose whatever piece you want. I want to suggest making the meat Manager the store manager. I'm giving this 2 stars because the meat department deserves 5 stars for service. And also because my parents didn't have grocery stores like this in their country, so I suppose I should be grateful. But my heart still tells me ZERO stars when it comes time to think about them ringing up my items.

I've been aware of Weis Markets-- usually located in the border area of northern NJ/NY state, or…read moresome rural areas of PA that I've occasionally passed through-- for several years. Never had a reason to shop there until recently, motivated as much by curiosity as anything else. In terms of food shopping, these days I alternate between the ShopRite in Stirling, and the ShopRite in Branchburg. With no money in my pocket, I stopped at the ATM alongside the Branchburg ShopRite recently, only to find it inoperative. I started driving in the direction of the ShopRite in Mansfield, as Stirling was that much further in the opposite direction, only to remember that you needed a quarter in order to utilize a shopping cart at Mansfield and realized that I didn't even have that on my person. So I altered direction towards Chester, only to remember that the ShopRite in Chester (at least in my memory of the few times I patronized it) was more expensive than the norm. Then I remembered there was a ShopRite up the road in Flanders, as well as a Wells Fargo with an ATM. So, given that I was already traveling that way anyway, I decided on the ShopRite in Flanders (which I patronized once or twice years ago). At the ATM (which, thankfully, was operative), I saw the Weis Market across the street and decided somewhat spontaneously that maybe now was the time to give them a try. There was enough parking in the lot, although a young couple parked in front of me, both wearing knee-length shorts and knee-high socks, were staring somewhat fixedly at me. Given an occasional predisposition to paranoia in the past on my part, I tried to put it out of my mind, grabbed a cart, and went inside. I always buy pre-prepared salads, but what I saw available at Weis wasn't exactly appealing. White iceberg lettuce, a jumble of cheese, croutons and some sort of anemic-looking berries. Hard pass. Looking up, I noticed the female half of the "Hills Have Eyes" couple outside now standing nearby, again staring fixedly at me. Disconcerted, I grabbed a package of pre-prepared sushi (which I never eat) and moved my cart onward. In terms of canned and/or pre-packaged items, I found pretty much what I needed. Vegetables, soup, Pepperidge Farm bread, even a package of Tyson stuffed chicken breasts. A package of Kraft mac'n'cheese. Soda. Bottled water. As I moved down the aisle, I saw the male half of the "Hills Have Eyes" couple staring hard at me. In the past, when I was younger and healthier, I might have succumbed to the lure of this juvenile nonsense and engaged him in a staring contest. The thought occurred to me that they might have thought I was initially staring at them because they were an inter-racial couple, and I know from inter-racial couple friends of mine that being an inter-racial couple isn't always the easiest thing to be these days (or any days). I wanted to tell him that what had attracted my attention hadn't been race but rather the matching shorts and socks. The Tweedle-Dee/Tweedle-Dum sartorial effect had been kinda cute. But I didn't. I turned away and went down another aisle. At the checkout counter, service was apathetic, but I'm not as hypersensitive to that as I used to be. I bagged my own groceries. Prices seemed reasonable enough, but I didn't spend as much as I normally would have. Normally, I would have bought coffee and fresh fruit, and I didn't this time. In the parking lot, I was grateful to see that the hard-staring couple had departed. I had been halfway bracing myself for some sort of confrontation. Back home, I tossed the sushi after 1 bite, as the texture seemed offputtingly gummy (in fairness, I'm not a fan of any kind of sushi-- I like my fish cooked, fully, thank you). Was there anything that stood out in a positive way? Yeah, as a matter of fact. I bought a packaged slice of cheesecake from the bakery department. Wasn't expecting too much, but it was creamy and delicious. I found myself wishing I had bought another slice, or more. I also bought a "shoo-fly" pie out of curiosity. I've had it before, but it's been many years (I bought a slice or 2 a few times at a long-defunct Amish market in Hillsborough), and I wasn't really all that much of a fan of it even back then. This time? I thought it was wonderful, rich and moist and fresh. I had gone through the entire pie in just a few days time. I also bought pre-packaged Weis brand "Amish" potato salad and seafood salad. The potato salad was bland, but the seafood salad was very enjoyable. I might try Weis again at some point, even if only for the cheesecake and the "shoo-fly" pie. In all fairness, it probably won't replace my Stirling/Branchburg/ShopRite food shopping excursions, but I don't think Weis would be a bad choice if I happen to be in the area again any time soon. I won't be buying "green" salads or sushi, but their baked goods are outstanding. Just hoping I don't encounter any Wes Craven movie extras in the parking lot next time!

This is a pretty solid supermarket with a good layout to it as are most of the Weis Markets. I…read morerecently made the trek out this way on a recon mission looking for the basics which now have become anything but "basic" necessities. Long story short, they did have a decent amount of meat, iced teas, cookies, and produce but as you would expect, toilet paper and bottled water were long gone. Note; I will in-no-way be holding any of this against the store and I still feel that this is a very good place to get your grocery shopping done. They have a good amount of automated check out lines here so I was able keep to myself the entire time. We can all get through this together by remaining apart. Bill Out. Peace.
