THE OWNER OF THIS STORE IS RUDE, DO NOT RECOMMEND IT I am a very laid back person who never writes a review even though there is a little problem with the store. But I had to say something about this one. If you plan to come here and you ever plan to make a split payment between cards, please don't. One of the employees there last time told me that he doesn't know how to do it and nobody knows how to do it, so I paid everything with one card. This was weeks ago when I last went. The next time I came, which was yesterday, the same employee who NOW claims to be the OWNER said he lied and he does know how to split payment but just doesn't want to use that method. When I asked him why not, he told me that the taxes for paying half by card and half in cash will affect him and his restaurant by going through that method. But I clarified it and said "but I'm using two cards, not cash" Then he smiles frustrated, throws up his hands and asks "why do you want to split the payment? Just use one card, it doesn't make sense to me." I said "it doesn't have to make sense to you, you still get paid what you owe for the pizza." He proceeded to tell me no, it doesn't make sense to him and he's not doing it. I ended up paying for the pizza with a card when I didn't want to do it with a card and said he did all the drama for nothing. The OWNER never clearly explained why split payments were a problem, and the way he asked why I am paying like this made me feel judged in some way. Sorry I don't have a business like him or MOST PEOPLE but in the end he still got paid. If you want a NYC Style Pizza King's Pizza is the best in the Frederick, MD area. I would suggest you get a large Sicilian Pizza and tell them well done. Then you'll experience a bit of a decent NYC square slice. The regular slices are good too but I would suggest that you get a reheated slice from the counter instead of ordering a pie to go. The crust gets nice and crispy that way and it's a close taste to most NYC pizzerias. The Calzones are very good. The cold sandwiches are good too but the hot sandwiches are just OK but that's mostly due to the bread that is used. The bread just can't hold a hot sandwich like a Chicken Parm very well. I like my bread a bit hard and crispy not mushy. The place is clean, it has good drink options and the prices are good. read more

First stop on an impromptu pizza tour of Frederick that we decided to do today. Got a slice of cheese. Fantastic. Perfect crispy and chewy crust, oozy cheese, a delicious slice! Also tried a slice of pepperoni which was good but not the best I've had. Hubs ordered a surprise cannoli and while I don't love this dessert as a general rule, this one was pretty delicious. They don't pay correct when you work there and thought we had figured out the problem but a week later they tell me they aren't paying me back for he hours I worked . The food is good but the people are rude except for like two people . The manger puts his job on the delivery driver . I am 16 years old and they refuse to pay me the cheap amount they owe me for the 11 am to 10:30 pm shift I worked with no break . It's terrible and I feel taken advantage of . It's really sad . This was my family's favorite place. Three time now our delivery has been 1hr 45 minutes late. Each time we have called the young woman would say it's on its way. The final straw was tonight. My wife called 145 into the order, after she called at an 1hr 15 and it was "on its way". My wife frustrated told her to not lie to people when ordering. The woman asked if we wanted to cancel. I had mediocre pizza today and it made me want Kings. I haven't lived in Walkersville in over five years, but any time I crave pizza, the pizza I crave is from Kings. The sauce for Kings is the best of any pizza I have ever experienced, anywhere. Bring in water from the East River? Only if you want to ruin a sauce that trumps NYC slices day-in and day-out. I believe it got taken off the menu seven or eight years ago, but you can still order a "pan o' sauce," which is an aluminum salad dish filled with their incredible sauce. Great for spooning on to pizza, dipping pizza and crusts into, dipping knots into, drinking, and of course bathing in. Aside from the sauce, the pizza is still spectacular. The more toppings the better, and on their pizzas the toppings prevent the pizza from staying stable even with the folding method. The best way to eat a Kings pizza full of toppings is to put it on a plate and slide it towards the edge of the plate as bite at it. Order Kings. Go to Kings. Eat Kings. Feel like kings. This place should not be undervalued by anyone in a reasonable distance. read more

I really like King's pizza, but sometimes they don't have a delivery driver. Understandable for a small business. Tonight, they delivered the wrong pizza, and after I called they had the right pizza out in about 30 minutes. The first time one of my friends mentioned King's Pizza I thought they were talking about somewhere in Frederick. I had no idea that it was in the vicinity of Walkersville, which I thought only had two pizza places to begin with. The first time I tried it I was surprised. My expectations were blown away. The pizza tasted great for the quality being just a bit better than Pizza Hut. I am a teenager, but I do know a good pizza from a bad one. Obviously this pizza is no comparison to homemade or Mellow Mushroom, but it is a great alternative in the range of Ledo's and other medium quality pizzas. If you're ever in a semi-rush for pizza, forget Pizza Hut; get King's. read more

I bumped into this place after going thrifting at Goodwill in the same shopping center and thought hmm, that looks like just the kind of dive to make a decent pizza! I ordered a large white pizza because how hard can that be to mess up? Gotta say it was very good! Made with four cheeses and plenty of garlic, just how I like it. Crust cooked perfectly, though a tad yeasty. I think it was around $15, very reasonable. It's about a 15 minute drive for me but definitely worth it IMO. Will try more pizzas! This place has awesome pizza. We have only ordered food for take-out. I think you can eat in the restaurant, though if memory serves it is just a few casual booths. Not sure whether they deliver. I've been on the pizza hunt around here for over a year. Who woulda have thought I just needed to drive to Walkersville? We ordered a large New York style with beef, mushroom, onion and extra cheese. The crust, the sauce and the overall flavor was perfect. I scarfed down two pieces with zero regrets. We also ordered a chef salad and chicken fingers with fries (for the kiddo). The salad wasn't award winning or anything but had everything I love. Maybe I was just starving but everything was so delicious. I think I am done searching for pizza for now. I would like to give 2 and a half stars. Their cheese steaks are usually pretty good and their pizza is better than the chains in town. Their downsides are simply slow delivery and depending on who is answering the phones the orders aren't always correct, difficult to hear or understand, and often kind of rude. Trying to support local business and they can't even fulfill your order correctly. I placed an order for pickup and upon returning to my home found we didn't get an order of meatballs which were paid for.(in cash). When I called the restaurant, instead of an apology I received "oh yah, my bad. What do you want to do? Come back over and get them?" I suppose it's always the responsibility of the consumer to right the wrong of the restaurant and fix the problem they created by their ineptitude. Someone made 3.50 cash! Merry Christmas and wondering how many people they do it to in a day. The money adds up. Disappointing they didn't even attempt to fix the problem. Will not get food from here again as other times we have the staff has been rude or short or disrespectful. Okay, you are in The Bronx, a homeless guy just showed you his junk. There is an odd smell of garbage in the air. The Bronx river literally smells as if it just farted. But you know what is awesome? New York style pizza. You have to eat it folded in half. The grease has a specific taste. You can't get it anywhere else. But wait...you can. Kings of Walkersville of all places. In a little shopping center on the outskirts of Frederick. They always have a pie out ready to go but you get it toasted in the oven so it's piping hot...crispy...just delicious. $1.70 a slice for cheese. Never paid that little in New York. Place has gone down hill. It used to have good food but has taken a dive. Overcharged me for pizza and provided only 2 chicken tenders in the chicken and fries meal and they were small chicken tenders. The prices on their web site and at the store are different than what they are charging. They need to keep up on their price displays so people are not charged incorrectly. Tried Kings for the first time over the weekend and I have to say I really couldn't have been happier. Walked in and ordered for take out. The pizza was ready super fast and the prices were great. Not sure if they run specials or coupons but the every day price was more then fair. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza. A large one topping pizza is $13.25 and for that I got quality. Last year I ordered delivery from here only to wait 2 hours for no pizza to arrive and no apology when I called to check on my order. I swore I'd never go back there even though they have my favorite cheesesteaks. Today I decided to give them another chance and I went for dine-in with my daughter after school. I waited for 5 minutes at the counter with no one to take my order while an employee sat in a booth playing on his phone. I said "hello?" And my daughter knocked on the glass and still no one acknowledged my presence. I got angry and stormed out and the man in the booth yelled someone's name after that but it was too late. I will never return here. Very sad seeing as how they are the only.place who delivers to my area and they have my favorite subs.
