My mom had some additional requests to cut some tree stumps for chairs and the guys were all very respectful and so accommodating to her as well. I really appreciate that! We moved into a 100-year-old house with beautiful landscaping and decided to remove a rogue eucalyptus that was impinging on neighboring properties. Later, we had several trees removed to install a new fence. Jesse and his crew handled those tree removal jobs without any hassle. The landscaping included a stunning tree canopy -- planted in 2005 -- that gave us a lot of privacy despite our location in a highly urban area. The garden was a magical oasis and one of the features that sold us on the house. My husband thought the trees needed trimming, and called in Jesse (I was out of town) given our positive experiences. In one day, Jesse managed to destroy the canopy and butcher a number of trees. In the attached photo, the "toothpicks" you see behind the garage used to shield us from the tall building 1/4 mile away. No more. My husband had thought Jesse would trim the trees to match the adjacent hedge. Instead, he took off almost all the foliage. I'm not sure the trees will survive, and if they do grow again, what will they look like? I've had many trees trimmed over the years, including by the city arborists, and pruned trees typically look healthier. I've never before encountered a tree trimmer who simply lopped off the top half of trees and called it a day. If you need a tree or trees removed, sure, Jesse will do the job. But tree trimming/pruning? You can find someone who's actually competent. read more

I wish I had read all of the reviews about Jesse. He was totally unprofessional. Planted Ficus trees too close together and then told me I'd have to buy more if I wanted to cover more of my fence. He would not respond to any of my emails. He basically stole $800 from me after he "put in" sprinklers in my back yard. I had to call a legitimate sprinkler company to fix the sprinklers. He half-way cut down a tree in the front of my house and then when he finally came back to fix it, I had to tell him to clean up the mess he made. I could go on, but he isn't worth my time. I hired Jesse to remove a tree and trim another ($900 with holiday discount because he said it was slow), they arrived 4 hrs late when it was almost dark and cut off branches of my 50 year old persimmon tree, I hope it survives. The other was mostly cut but because it was dark they asked to reschedule to finish and clean up. Since then it took 4 reschedules to clean up given his family emergency. He then asked to come by a different day to remove the last section of the stump because he didn't have the tool that day and it took 4 additional reschedules to finish the work. I moved things in my calendar these 8 times (all the reschedules were done day of). Besides all of the difficulty, one of his staff was was so rude to my nice neighbor that they came over and wanted to write their own complaint. My other neighbor on the other side also let me know that they left all the tree branches that fell on his property as well for him to clean up. We called around and asked a nursery in our neighborhood and came across Kings Tree Services. Jesse came in and texted me the price to trim/prune 12 fruit trees. His price was lower than the other companies and his crew were very professional, polite and cordial. They came in as planned at 8 am on Saturday. After this job, I got the quote and gave them another job which was trimming few big tall high pine branches of our neighbor which were in our yard.
