I visited this salon on July 26, 2025. I have lived in the area for 30 years, and visited the salon often for haircuts that were just fine considering the price I've also visited the salon for an updo for a wedding once, and the result was very disappointing. Even one of the guests commented on how it didn't look good. 3 years later, my daughter needed a style for her own wedding, and we couldn't find anyone who could do her hair for a morning wedding, so she went ahead and tried this salon. The result was so bad, the stylist had to wash it again and try again. Even then, the result was very amateurish and nothing like what she was looking for. This time, I was the one in the situation where I couldn't get an appointment anywhere else, and so I thought, "I just need a blowout, nothing fancy. Surely they can do that!" Wrong I was! The stylist did not listen to what I wanted. I had asked for a blowout with curling iron if needed. I have naturally curly hair and have had blowouts before so I knew what was easily accomplished with my hair. But instead of giving me a blowout, she dried my hair randomly, not even with a brush. Then she took a flatiron and straightened my hair. I told her I was looking for a style with body, and my hair was now looking flat. She said it would have body when she was done. She didn't put any heat protectant or holding products on my hair before applying the hair dryer or styling tools. When she was done, it looked very limp with no body at all. As I said, my hair has tons of body on its own, so this should not have been a problem. She had put some curls at the bottom as I asked, although they were nothing like what I has asked for. She asked what I thought, and I said I was concerned that these weak (and limp) curls did not look like they would last. She assured me that they would last because she was going to put fixant hairspray on it. She assured me that I would even still have curls the next morning. I'm sure you can guess that she was dead wrong. My curls did not even last until I got to my event 2 hours later. The next morning my normally curly morning hair was flat and stick-straight. Super disappointed! I know you get what you pay for and this was $40, cheaper than some other places, but even so, how can you mess up a blowout! I wish I'd done my own hair. It would have looked decent and saved me the money. And it would have even lasted until the next day! read more

The salon itself seemed cleanly enough. Spacious, swept, and I observed the lady put aside a comb she had dropped on the floor and pick up a new one. Prices are pretty reasonable but for the quality my husband experienced I'd say it's a bit overpriced. I didn't get a haircut here, my husband did and in my honest opinion his hair came out looking choppy and unevenly cut. The barber was a nice lady but she didn't really meet our standards for hair cutting. We will give it another shot in the future and see if we get more desirable results. read more

Fried my daughter's hair and turned it orange. Thought I'd give it a try & save some $$ since he cut my hair a couple of weeks ago and did an ok job with my hair although he went overboard thinning it out (can barely put it up in a bun now). She wanted highlights...turned her into a blonde; went back to tone it a little darker. The guy left the toner on too long while he went to cut someone else's hair. She is devastated. NEVER AGAIN! Got my hair colored today. At first I wasn't sure about the salon cause of the 3 stars, but I decided to give it a shot. I waited about 5 mins and he took me in right away. He went over the prices with me and how long it will take. Then, he offered me some water, which was a nice touch. Overall, I was very pleased with the result and would definitely go back. I love these guys. They cut hair for four out of five of our family members. Thy is great with my hair. She gave me a new hair style and I haven't had this many compliments on my hair in years! Niko cuts my sons hair terrifically. We all love them. I don't see any of the problems other people are talking about. And their prices are great. Thy was just telling me that someone suggested they raise their prices, but they decided not to because the economy is hurting and they want to help out their loyal customers. A husband and wife work at this salon. The salon owners also own Juanita Hair Salon in Kirkland. Called to make an appointment for a color and I was told none required. They are very quick. Color (just the roots) is applied in 5 minutes. Quick rinse and dry. You get a choice of styling - I chose curls. Didn't care for the technique or the result. Technique was curling each lock of hair around the curling iron then dragging it along the length of my hair. I felt as if half my hair was pulled out each time. Plus he forgot to curl an entire strand. The result didn't look great - I wanted loose curls at the bottom but I take responsibility - I wasn't specific. When I got home I found color in my ears and along the back. This is not a place you want to go to then expect to head out right away for your date night. What's encouraging is that they guarantee their color. If it doesn't take when you get home, they'll redo it. Great value $45 for a color! Plus they won't add a charge when you pay with a credit card. read more

Absolutely love this place... specifically, Lynn - the owner. She does exceptional work with no frills. If you don't need the full salon experience, just want a quick, high quality cut - go see Lynn. She works at this salon a couple of days a week and then at Juanita Salon a couple of days. They also can always fit me in at the last minute. Appointments are fine; but really not necessary unless you need to make sure you're in and out fast. I have recommended several family members and friends to her and they have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the other two employees. read more

This salon may be okay for men but it is not the greatest for women. I only go in when I want a trim but every time I end up with several inches taken off instead. It is always so short and not what I want I leave feeling majorly disappointed. They are all very nice people but I think they only know one kind of cut so it doesn't matter what you actually ask for. I had one haircut here and I will never go back. I was seated in a chair and told that the stylist would be right out, I was the only patron there but she did not come out for 20 minutes. She claimed I had miss-shaved the back of my head so she had to shave it exceptionally high to compensate. I think she just messed up and made up a lie to cover her tracks cause I don't even shave the back of my head myself. She also made the hair line around my ears come up really high, so that it actually outlined the outer edge of my ear. It was a totally ridiculous haircut and worst off the stylist probably thought she did a good job. read more

The owner is the only person who does a good job. The other gal is OK if you direct her to problems. She seems to have trouble cutting the left side of the hair and looks awkward when she is trying to cut it. This leaves the hair looking uneven. This place is VERY unsanitary. They use the same combs and wipe-towel on all customers without sanitizing between customers. They don't put combs into a wash jar at all. God forbid if they got a child in there with lice. They do give a quick haircut and I go there when I'm in a real hurry hoping I'll get the owner to cut my hair. The guy who is sometimes there does a good job too but he's rarely there. I think he fills in when the other gal is out. I really don't recommend this place. Unless you're in a hurry, it's not worth risking the unsanitary conditions. Yes, I know, years ago barbers didn't sanitize between customers either but this is the 21st century for crying out loud. read more

I went in to get my hair trimmed and relayered. I asked for an inch to an inch and a half off the ends. She took off four inches of hair and left me with a bob. I have curly hair and it is not a good look. When I asked her about it she told me I was wrong and got mad at me for saying that it wasn't what I asked for. If you are looking for a quick trim for under $20 this place will do fine in a pinch, I took my three kids there for quick maintenance trims and they were just that, quick and trim. There were a few stragglers when Niko cut the twins' hair, but the other gal there did good with the youngest daughter's haircut and it was all even and well trimmed. It's seriously quick, which is great for younger kids who can't sit still for more than 10 minutes anyway. My original salon was closed, so I came here to give it a try. I needed a root touch up for my blonde highlights. She told me wait will be 5mins, it was actually 20min. Anyways, the lady (not the owner) foiled my hair and had me wait 1hr. After the wash and saw the color it was yellow and the highlights were thicker than usual and didn't sync with the previous highlights. When I mention it to her, she told me that the other salon did thin highlights because they are cheap and I waited too long to do fill. I told her they did thin highlights so that my hair will blend better, which is what I wanted. It was only 1.5 inches grown out. I didn't like that she chose to do my hair the way she wanted because it was faster and a quick tip. Btw, between time she gave 2 ppl haircut. While washing my hair, she told me I shouldn't come on a Friday, its too busy. When my hair was finished it had yellow highlights and looked horrible. I did call and tell her that my hair wasn't the right color and she yes it is. But my hair clearly shows the bottom half highlights are brown and the top half is yellow. I asked her to fix it and she agreed, but I never went back. As a profession, her doing my hair wrong the first time is horrible. I didn't want her to fix it because I was upset and worried she may mess it up more. I regret this visit and it costed me $80. Poor job and I will never return to this place. read more
