This is single-handedly the worst jamaican restaurant i've ever been to. The worst restaurant i've been to overall truthfully and this was my first time visiting this place. I placed an online order and the pick up time said 20 min so i gave them 30, expecting them to be late with the food as most establishments like this are. I walked in and wasn't greeted whatsoever despite the restaurant being empty except for myself & another customer waiting for her pickup order. I asked the other lady there how long she'd been waiting and she said 45 minutes so far and that no one had greeted her. She said she'd been waiting so long she went to the frozen yogurt place next door just to get something to hold her over. Minutes later another customer entered and asked when his food would be done. With how rudely these people spoke to him I thought they were family. He said he'd been waiting for over an hour and the woman who was working finally came over and told him she'd check on it and raced back to the kitchen. A good 30 more minutes passed while myself, the man, and the other woman waiting with us were still waiting on food. Mind you it's not like we ordered catered buffets or something it was jerk chicken and some vegetables... The woman finally returned and said it would be a few more minutes. At this point I'd been waiting for an hour, the other woman had been waiting an hour 15 and the man had waited an hour and a half. Fed up, and reasonably so, the man asked for his money back and the woman cut him off and asked him to hold on. She disappeared to the back again and returned with food for the other two guests. She brought their food out in dark black bags and triple knotted them and was trying to rush them out the door. They both checked their food and 2/3 of their order wasn't even in the container. She only put their chicken in there and tried to scam them out of the rest of the food they paid for. It was sneaky and insulting and when asked about it she said they would have to wait longer if they wanted the rest. When asked why there was such a long wait she didn't answer she just walked away. No apology or anything, no complimentary drinks offered, not even some tap water. The man wanted his money back along with the tip he left and the lady again gave him attitude as if he was in the wrong for wanting money back for food he didn't receive. She told him he would need to give the chicken back if he wanted his money which was a joke because the least she could've done is let him keep the chicken he waited over an hour and a half for. Once he left she started cursing him out despite him no longer even being there. Childish. After over an hour she finally spoke to me and asked why i was there and i told her i was there to pick up my online order. She claimed it'd been ready for 45 minutes but when she went to the back she stayed there for 15 min and returned with just chicken like she had for the other guests. Again we asked why it was taking so long and a rude old lady came out and was screaming that they didn't have any food... If they had no food why on earth did they have us waiting for them to cook food they didn't even have... At this point we both wanted our money back and she said okay but you can't take the food (the chicken that mind you at this point was cold and drier than arizona air). The woman I was with said exactly what I was thinking and told her that it made zero sense that after all this time we couldn't even keep the chicken that they weren't going to do anything with except throw away. They couldn't sell it, all of the chicken was breathed on and sat out for over an hour. The courteous thing to do AT MINIMUM would've been to let us keep the chicken. The woman said we could either keep waiting (for what i couldn't even tell you, because if they had no food then there's no reason to wait...) or we could get our money back. The lady who was also waiting for her food asked for the owners number and she gave her a business card and we both wanted our money back at this point. Conveniently (or so we thought) the owner happened to walk in a few minutes afterwards. We explained what'd happened and he could not have cared less. He stared at us seeing no problem as to how we'd waited that long for food when they didn't even have the food and couldn't keep the the food that they were just going to throw away. He said "so what do you want me to do". No apology or anything. We again asked for our money back and he claimed he couldn't refund me because it was through an online third party and that I would have to wait for my money to be returned because he doesn't have access to the account. It makes no sense that the OWNER of an establishment doesn't have access to MONEY at his own business. When I told him that made no sense he rolled his eyes and said he had hundreds of businesses and couldn't be bothered to keep up with each one. I ended up having to contact my bank to get my money back. read more

5 stars again of course! I really love this place and it's food I ordered the Jerk Chicken this time around and it came with some rice and peas and I think the brown stew gravy and everything was amazing! The jerk chicken ski was flavorful and crispy the meat was tender not over cooked, the rice and peas were great with and without the brown stew gravy but the brown stay gravy had amazing flavor and nice spice. I also ordered the fried plantains which were a nice size perfectly fried and fresh! Other restaurants are stingy with the plantains and are either unripe or dried out. Kingston Grills were perfect! There were about pricey for $4 when I could buy 4x that amount at the grocery store but they made sure you got a nice amount for the price. All of my food was hot and came out in a decent time and my waiter a young man, was great! The place is always empty when I go around lunch time but I hope they're getting steady business this is some of the best Jamaican food I've had in Atlanta and New York honestly! read more

New spot in the neighborhood, finally tried it out. I must say it is my new go to spot. Normally a newer spot has issues with service, not here. The ladies were super friendly and attentive. The decor is upscale yet casual. The music is cool runnings. The chef has reached into another level of umami to create the jerk egg rolls. They are life changing. They are crisp fried flavor bombs. The mango habanero dipping sauce will make your taste buds twist inside out. The sweet mango is clean on the palate, all you taste is mango and then you are swept away on a roller coaster of flavor as the habanero joins the party in your mouth. It's worth the trip just to taste the egg rolls, but you might as well get some super affordable meat pies and coco bread. Save room for the curry chicken that had me rethinking my own recipe for curry. Then oxtails are fall off the bone tender with just enough fat to be succulent. The plates are served with rice n peas, braised cabbage and plantains. Don't forget to get an order of plantains to go. Chase it all down with ginger beer or the rum punch if you feel like that. I was so amazed at the flavors I asked to speak to the chef just to say to her she a bad woman. I actually said dayyuum this is good!!!! Then owner is very nice. Went and tried the oxtail tacos and they were great!!! So good that I wanted to try them again but in 1 weeks time, they went up to $5 for 1 taco and that's where I drew the line. Nice place on the inside but I can't bring myself to pay $5 for 1 taco. If you are okay with doing so, then give them a try, they are good. read more

Welcome to Forest Park Kingston Grill. I decided to give them a try this evening for my dinner selection. I usually just order takeout during the week because I am too tired to cook. I am willing to patronize new restaurants in clayton county otherwise known as food desert . I looked at the menu and decided on the Jerk chicken, beans & rice, and cabbage. The lunch portion was more than enough for 2 meals for me. As for the taste of the aforementioned food they were all delicious. I usually do not like cabbage, but their version was delicious. The Mac n cheese was creamy and cheesy, as it should be. I also usually find the plantains dry but theirs was not!! I am gonna give this place a 1 star for customer service. My family of four drove up to this place today to see an employee yelling at a customer in the parking lot that there are no refunds. Not a very good look to new customers. I listened to the exchange and talked with the customer about her issue. She definitely had a legitimate complaint about the cake. It looked and felt like compressed cardboard (she posted pics). I decided to go in to the Mexican restaurant while someone else went to the wing spot to see if the vibe was the same. I see the guy from Kingston grill in there. I asked the server if the businesses are connected. She said "I don't know nothing other than we sell Mexican food". All of the food was great and because I ordered takeout the waitress was extremely informative and helpful about everything we ordered. I would say that the oxtail portion was pretty small compared to other Caribbean places which give you a lot more. Like someone else said the jerk chicken in the spring rolls was a little dry so it has to be eaten with sauce. The oxtail tacos were the absolute best! This place is a hidden gem just a few minutes from Atlanta airport. It is hidden in the corner of a strip mall in a strangely non descript area, but dont judge from the outside. So we finally tried the new Jamacian spot in the neighborhood. Let's start with the location...it's kind of hidden off the side street by the post office. Not the best location to stand out, maybe a billboard on Jonesboro road would be good to draw more business. The space is small, but nice! Decor is lovely and staff were good. I ordered the jerk pasta with shrimp...pretty pricey $16.99 plus $2 for shrimp. The menu says it comes with a side salad. The waitress told me "no, it doesn't." That made no sense, it's on your menu. My husband ordered jerk chicken, rice and peas, cabbage $15 (approx.). So first, the paste was flavored deliciously, however, there was too much sauce. I mean I had enough to add to another paste. The noodles were clumpy. I pushed through and ate what I could. The jerk chicken was sooo hot. You know that hot you can't enjoy your food...so if thats not your thing, make sure you ask for less spice. This is my new favorite Jamaican restaurant in the entire area. Delicious food, very clean, quick service, spacious and the service was outstanding. They really take pride in making sure you have a great customer experience. I'm a vegan and the waitress recommended many options for us that were just so tasty. A great chef alone doesn't make a business great, the food was great but it is NOT WORTH THE SHITTY SERVICE! I called in a week ahead and made a reservation for 18 people, we all arrived and the server came out and I ordered a Sorrel drink, she brought me pineapple ginger, I said this is not sorrel and she looked so confused and I had to tell her it's the red drink. I let that slide because she wasn't Jamaican and she's new, pretty soon she was overwhelmed taking the orders and we told her to calm down and relax. She was struggling out there by herself while two other workers were inside sitting around NOW THIS IS WHERE IT WENT DOWNHILL! One person ordered a vodka shot and she brought white rum and didn't even say they don't have vodka, we soon realised after going to the bar that they only had three bottles of white rum and a barcardi! Everyone ordered and 20 mins later the chef came out and asked everyone that ordered fish would eat the fil-a because he's out of whole fish and everyone said yes. 15mins later a second round of appetizer came out for one table but ours didn't come out yet, and meanwhile she was delivering the jerk roll 2 fell off the plate on the ground. The oxtail meals came out first then the rest of the meals came sporadically, sometimes even a just a side and no meal. After being there for a 1:30mins total, some people were completely done with their meal while some were still waiting, at this point they came out and told a person that ordered jerk chicken that they're out of jerk chicken, fine, they ordered something else, we waited and waited and some ppl got their fish STILL leaving two people with NO FOOD!! The server came out and said 4mins more for fish, THIS IS NOW 2 HOURS AFTER GETTING THERE, so at this time we called the "manager" which was the same person that was just sitting around inside,she came out with the most nonchalant face, we told her the problem and she basically said it's the chef's fault and he should've been more prepared because he knew we were coming, she said she's going to check on the fish and came back and said sorry we are out of fish, so after waiting at a table for 2 HOURS this person got no food!! Their reason? They had to-go orders while we waited for food so they ran out! The entire party was pissed the "manager" didn't give a sh*t, she was inside laughing with the "bartender" the server was overwhelmed and crying, it was just a all round disaster and no one cared. In the end we had to go to McDonald's for the people that didn't get food. read more

Stopped in for brunch. Cool atmosphere and helpful staff. Place was right on point with spice level, unlike most of the Jamaican restaurants in the area. Food was hot, well presented and very tasty. We went munching thru the menu - apps, entrees and desserts. Rum punch was very good, but they're still waiting on wine to come in. All in all, I'd say definitely recommended.
