What a cute little spot!! A Phinney gem, for sure...inside is very bright, modern, and curated to make it seem like you stepped into Greece. And it does feel like it! With the clean white walls, splash of blues with olive branches scattered throughout. They were soooo friendly too. Superb service! The food was super yummy and flavorful! We had the chicken and pork pitas, and both were so juicy and seasoned so well. The pitas are a hefty size, too. So we came out super full!! You can make it a plate for a few bucks more. And the Avgolemono soup!!! That was such a nice, surprisingly flavorful dish! It reminded me of congee....a refreshing congee with a hint of lemon. So comforting! They have great kid options, as well. You can pick any of the proteins and get either fries or rice with it. I highly recommend going to Kipos for some excellent Greek food and good vibes!

Kipos is a hidden gem tucked into Phinney Ridge. It's a beautiful and sunny space that matches the vibe of the food perfectly. Speaking of food, everything I tried was delicious, with the chicken salad being a particular standout. The pork gyro was also very tasty, but could have been a tad warmer. I'm looking forward to trying the lamb meatball next time! Great service and affordable pricing seal the deal and make this a stop you won't regret.

Chicken Souvlaki Plate with Halloumi Fries; Horiatiki Salad

Go here now! I met a friend for lunch here. The owner was very welcoming and answered all of our questions. My friend is vegetarian and has celiac, so he shared a marked up menu with us that showed which items would be best for her diet. I am still thinking about my chicken souvlaki plate a week later. The skewer was cooked to perfection. It was juicy and had unique flavor. I opted for their house-made lemon yogurt sauce which was divine. I also opted for the Halloumi fries. Let me tell you - I had to have a moment when I tasted them. My friend's Horiatiki salad was just right. We were both scraping our ever-so-cute dishes at the end. I can't wait to return!

Kipos Greek caught my eye earlier driving my usual route through Greenwood and Phinney Ridge. It had taken the spot of a former Thai restaurant, and located between Windy City Pie and Ada's Restaurant & Bar. I had the opportunity to take in a late lunch on 5/26/24. I was able to snag a parking spot around the corner. I placed my order at the front counter with the upbeat staff member and was given a number. I sat at the window counter to dine onsite. The other folks during my visit had placed takeout orders. It's a modest spot with a few tables and counter seating around the periphery. Bright with spare wall decor. I would describe it as fast casual with a focused Greek menu. I chose the plate ($16.50) with the selections of spicy lamb meatballs, lemon rice pilaf, tzaziki sauce, red onion, tomato, and warmed pita cut into quarters. Definitely save a portion of your meatball or pita to get all the tasty remainders. Kind of unwieldy using flatware against the corners of the rectangle enamel coated dish. Real lemon because I found a seed in my rice. Now with lemon and rice...if only there was avgolemeno on the menu. Enjoyed my combo plate. I also ordered the Classic Loukoumades ($10.50), which were fried dough balls topped with cinnamon, walnuts, and Greek honey. I ate two and packaged the rest to take home. This was later devoured by The Homie and given a thumbs up. I prefer the loukoumades from another Greek spot in Magnolia and of course, what's served at the St. Demetrios Greek Festival. This was one of three presentations of this sweet treat, another one topped with Nutella and crushed Oreos and the other with a custard filling & phyllo flakes. Nice addition to the neighborhood and located proximate to the Woodland Park Zoo.

A bite of Greece in Phinney Ridge. Kipos is absolutely wonderful , and the gentleman who owns the restaurant is too! A lovely fast casual spot right next to the zoo with reasonable prices and good portions. Standout dishes include the pork gyro plate or wrap, which had lovely crisped edges and a wonderful flavor. The spicy lamb meatballs were also tender and delicious, pairing well with the tasty halloumi fries. This is an absolute gem of a spot and 100% worth stopping in for a quick bite.

    Pork Pita

The food and service were fantastic. We tried the Halloumi fries, pork pita and bifteki pita. Each dish tasted great and was more than enough food for two of us. There's so many dishes on the menu we want to try and we'll definitely be going back. We also had a chance to talk to the owner, who was friendly and checked on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed.

When my food came out, I was pleasantly surprise that my salad came with an order or fries as well and the portions of my meal was gigantic. Everything was made fresh to order and the food was pretty tasty. The chicken was fat and juicy and and they didn't skimp out at all. The fries was a little on the salty side but it was still good. I manage to eat the entire thing but ended up not being able to eat anything else the whole day. Service was standard. I'm not sure I would call this place a Greek place but the food is tasty overall.

I decided to check Athena's out during the…read moreBellevue Food Truck Chow Down event, as it was the only food truck with Mediterranean food, which I'm a huge fan of! So you can imagine how pleased I was that Athena's was at the event. But the food was very disappointing and not something I would eat again. I ordered the Greek Salad with gyro meat, which cost me over $12 with tip. Once I got my salad it didn't look appetizing. I was surprised that the salad is made up of iceberg lettuce versus romaine, which I normally find with Greek salads. And since it came with cabbage and carrots I can only assume that the lettuce came from a mixed bag. That wouldn't be so much of an issue had some lettuce not been wilted or turning brown. Not amused. But what may be worse was the overcooked and heavily salted gyro meat. Not only that, but the gyro meat was very thin, so I do not think it was a rotisserie cook and shaved off like how gyro meat is normally made. I cannot believe I wasted $12 on this. I will not be eating from Athena's again.
