Stumbled here after walking around the public market where we were hungry BUT overwhelmed with the crowds. I got the chicken gyro salad and it was decent. There wasn't anything that stood out as amazing, but it was a standard salad with shredded chicken thighs. I love pepperoncinis and olives. My salad had maybe 4 olives and the pepperoncinis I got was dry. It satisfied our hunger and was in a nice a quiet food hall just outside of the public market area. read more

Such a good gyro! I wouldn't have even know it was here if it weren't for Google maps. I like how it's in the little food court area and has plenty of seating. It was made to order and you could customize it by asking the person making it to add certain things. The service was so good and the person assembling was so sweet! I rarely write reviews but in this case, the food was so good, I simply felt that Layla and her cook earned a great review. I had the Gyro Salad. So often, in some Greek restaurants the vegetables, cucumbers, and tomatoes are simply there, often with wilting lettuce, hard tomatoes, and nondescript cucumbers. At Gyros Place, the tomatoes were tart and firm without being chewy. The cucumbers actually added flavor to the salad and not mere bulk. Good vegetables will not save bad meat but lackluster vegetables cannot be saved even by the best meat. But, the whole of the salad was first rate and delicious. I love Gyros and try any place I can find. The Gyros Place stands out as exceptional and really stands out. There is really no secret as to why everything was so delicious. Layla, the owner, never was still. She was constantly checking every ingredient, the sauces, the temperature of the meat, and each ingredient on the steam table. She simply could not produce a bad meal with the amount of attention she spends. So, watching her run her restaurant, is like watching a great golfer or a tennis player. Her craft is evident as she inspects everything. This place really stands out for great food and the prices are comparable with those of restaurants that do not produce such great food. I will assuredly be back. I am doing you a real favor by bringing the Gyros Place to your attention. You will appreciate everything, the food, the service and the cleanliness. I used to work in this building for like 2 years and never came down to eat here. For some reason, I just wasn't feeling it. Forward to about 4 years later, I finally came by for lunch. It's located inside Century Square Building, you know where Yard House, Piroshky Piroshky are at. Enter either at 3rd & Pike or 4th & Pike. Anyways, came by for lunch because I was feeling a gyro and my old coworkers said they liked this place. It's food court style of set up, order at the counter and they will make your food. I decided to keep it real to their popular lunch item and got the Gyro & Fries combo. Gyro was pretty good, they gave a good amount of meat, stuffed the pita pretty nicely, all made to order. Pita was good slightly fluffy, thick enough, served warm. Fries were freshly fried up, they lightly toss it with salt after, crispy and thicker cut style. Overall, the combo was pretty darn good and quite filling. Staff was friendly, prices are about what the going rate is for a combo meal in downtown....I think around the $11+ range. Well, glad I finally pulled the trigger to come by. It's a pretty good spot and a good one to put on the lunch list if you work in the area. probably the best gyros and burgers I've had. Everything taste fresh. The French fries are fried at the time of the order. Their meats are seasoned so nicely. their portions are very filling. Their bacon is crispy and tasty. Nothing rubbery like you would get at other places. The owners are so kind and welcoming. They tend to remember their regulars and it brings a nice fuzzy feeling when they remember your orders Their kitchen is super clean. I have gyros on occasion closer to home, but they're never as good. The owner is very friendly and remembers my order, as she appears to do for many others. If I could give this PLACE a 10 STAR, I would. This Downtown Seattle Gyros Place was heaven sent and is THE PLACE. As a typical tourist in Seattle, I walked around downtown Seattle until I could no longer take another stand. Hungry, my friend who lives in Seattle highly recommend the Gryos Place. She made me walk three extra blocks to get there and I am so glad she did! I have never had a Gyros in which all the flavors and ingredients were perfectly balanced, fresh and exploding with flavor. Best part, IT WAS NOT GREASY!!! Jam packed with flavor, large portions, filling and delicious, I must say it was the best Gyros I have ever had. They served a chicken burger with fries which was out of this world delicious. My taste buds were in heaven... After consuming my gyros, half of my friend's chicken sandwich, a full order of fries, I was full but I did not feel overwhelmed with calories. I attribute it to quality ingredients served fresh. This little gyro place is located at Century Square, near Yard House. It's a corporate-esqe food court, and there are some other options, mostly Asian inspired. These folks make a pretty tasty gyro, though. Real gyro meat, not taken out of a freezer and warmed up. First place I tried on my own since starting work downtown. I saw the menu while waiting for someone the other day and noticed that they listed what options were vegetarian so I figured I'd give it a try. As previously noted, the cashier was on the phone the whole time and the cook took my order, pulling dolmathes out of a container from somewhere and throwing some fries in a to go box for me. Fast though, I guess. Food isn't making me puke or anything, it's fine. I am famished though, so I'm sure a raw potato would be good right now too. Disclaimer: I would like to state that I wouldn't know "Authentic Greek food" if someone slapped me in the face with it, so I cannot make judgements on the authenticity of this place's food. That being said, the gyro meat here is pretty darn tasty. I don't know what type of meat it is. It doesn't taste like lamb, so it's probably beef. May be a combo. I'm happy with it, whatever it is. They have a special where they give you a super stuffed gyro and a side for 6.50. Downtown, this is a pretty good deal. I'm a low-carber, so I'm always on the lookout for low carb meal ideas. For 6.99 you can get a gyro salad that's so big you will have to make two meals out of it. I've had it twice and both times the greens were really fresh, they were very generous with the feta cheese and dressing, and I got a huge portion of gyro meat piled on top. It's definitely the best salad deal within walking distance of 1501 4th Ave, and it's delicious! They also sale a variety of chicken salads and sandwiches, hampburgers, and other Greek dishes. I've never eaten the chicken or burgers, so I can't really speak for those menu items. The gyros, gyro salad and fries are great though, imo. Overall, friendly and fast service and good food. Gyros Place is great. They've been around since I started working downtown 15 years ago! To survive as a small, family-owned business in downtown Seattle where places like Chiptole and McDonalds have lines all day long is no small feat. I am surprised at the not-so-great reviews. They may have had their ups and downs over the years, and I won't vouch for the Greek "authenticity" of the place, but hey, they're a small shop in a food court - what do you want? The fact that they've survived this long has got to say something! The food is regularly, consistently good. The owners are friendly and kind, and have always remembered me. I'm gluten free but I don't eat like a bird, so I'm always on the lookout for good, hearty, cheap meals downtown that aren't sandwiches or burritos. I usually get the gyros salad, which more than fills me up and it's a ton of food for the price. Give this local business a chance! read more

Ive always come across this neat place in the food court in Century Square in downtown. I finally took time to order their felafel gyro one harried and hungry lunchtime and was greatly pleased. Their food is cooked fresh as ordered and prepared with a lot of fresh ingredients. they serve burgers too, but I always had my taste buds for their felafel-good v vegetarian option.They have been around for awhile, and easy to overlook because of the darker dimmed area of the food court, but I suggest you try their food. The staff is so-so. The people cooking the food always seems nice, but the people who take your money and get your drinks always seem to be on the phone, and make me think I'm interrupting something. I suppose that's better than having the cooks seem unhappy. Anyway, today I had the Hawaiian Burger, which was actually pretty good. I had it with lettuce and tomato, and it came with grilled pineapple and a thin teriyaki-flavored sauce. The french fries are cut on-site from whole potatoes. Today they were soggy and greasy, despite having just been thrown into the fryer (I witnessed this). The burger and fries, plus a can of coke (1.50 -- serves me right for not drinking water!) came to a few dimes less than 10.00 This pretty much sums up my 4-or-so visits to Gyros Place. If I wanted a burger, this would never be my first choice: it's a few blocks from my office vs less than a block away (Mel's Market, way better burger, way better price). However, if I'm down in that area, I'd consider it, only after checking out the other offerings. read more
