I ate more than half of the fries by the time I took the picture, but this is how the Gyro comes.

*Review for To-Go* I popped it and the restaurant looked empty, so I ordered online. As it turns out, the restaurant is only open for pickup on Tuesdays. The woman that greeted me when I stepped up to the back counter was warm and kind- she asked if I had a preference of salad or fries to accompany my gyro. Let me say this: For $18, the gyro is a spectacular deal in Seattle. The meat was tender, the pita was fluffy and fresh, and there was just a dusting of spice on top of the vegetables. In my humble opinion, there wasn't enough tzatziki...but I think it's because it was so good I wanted more! Everything tasted homemade and fresh off the stove. I will absolutely be back to try the rest!

Our kids brought us here before we headed back out of town. Full house and smelled amazing! The service was so friendly as well. We were full before the main courses. Thank you so much!

**vegetarian review** Will start my review in reverse. Such good food and service!!! I am definitely coming back and bring more of my friends here. I got the pikilia dip- the 5dip platter and the vegetarian mousaka. The dips were wonderful and there was a good proportion of the pita. The deep fried pita was so good. The main was quite a portion, I could only eat half and packed the rest. I got the roasted potato side and those were so good! I loved this dish. We also did the baklava icecream. What a genius idea. So so delicious. The place is so pretty as well and we were not being rushed during our meal which was quite nice.

My friends introduced me to this restaurant today. It was my first time here and I was blown away by how delicious everything was that we ordered. I got the special chicken Santorini and we split the fig salami mezze. Both were phenomenal and full of seasoning/flavor which is hard to come by in Seattle. The wait staff was attentive and kept refilling our water glasses. Can't wait to go back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Food was amazing and so flavorful. Fries were a little dry but the tzatziki made it 10x better. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Great little mom & pop shop. Would love to come again!!

We loved absolutely everything about this restaurant. The food far exceeded our expectations. Everything was incredibly fresh and cooked to absolute perfection. This family owned and operated Greek oasis is a must try!

How I heard of this place: It's in our neighborhood and we pass by it nearly daily. For one reason or another, we haven't ever ventured inside. Until now. It was recommended by friends we were meeting for dinner when we shared that our kids wanted gyros. Type of cuisine: Greek. "Yanni's restaurant (formerly Lakeside Café) is family owned and operated since 1984. We take pride in our hospitality, customer service and especially our preparation of the food. We try our best to bring you only the freshest ingredients, would it be from our gardens or from the vendors we choose." Ambiance: A sweet and cozy space, the interior is lined with Greek artwork and themes. Plants can be found in the window-like spaces between the two dining areas. The lighting is ambient and soft. The tables lined with butcher paper for kids to color on (crayons provided), and the space is warm. We were the only customers inside for at least three full minutes before I had to walk up to the two people behind the counter and ask if we should seat ourselves. One woman looked somewhat put out when I asked and snapped back, "We'll seat you soon." Once seated, and our friends - regulars at the establishment - arrived, the mood of the older woman completely shifted and we were treated with the utmost kindness and hospitality. What I ordered: Gyro Street Fries ($15) to start - fries tossed with diced fresh garlic, feta cheese and herbs, topped with handcut strips of lamp and beef gyro, fresh diced tomatoes, onions and tzatziki, served with pita triangles. For our son, the Chicken Shawarma ($16) - chicken breast marinated in a spicy pepper rub, charbroiled and served with lettuce, cucumber, scallion relish and tzatziki; our daughter selected the Chicken Hummus ($16) - charbroiled, sliced chicken breast in a pita with lettuce, sliced cucumbers, hummus. For me, Prawns Shawarma Bowl ($19) - prawns, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers and tomatoes sauteed with housemade Shawarma sauce, served over rice, sprinkled with feta and yogurt-lemon sauce, and triangles of pita bread. What I loved: Minus the rubbery gyro meat, the Street Fries were the star of our meals. I enjoyed the spiciness of the chicken in the shawarma and I like that fries are included in the shawarma plates. Why I loved it: The food is simple and tastes good. The wait was not an issue, as it made us feel like it was being prepared specifically for us. Cost: Average

Delicious, authentic Greek food in a homey atmosphere! -Lamb Souvlaki ($23) - perfectly grilled lean lamb pieces, with roasted veggies, pita, tzatziki, and a side -Saganaki ($11) - impressive presentation, the flambe it right in front of you! Creates a delicious, melty, crispy cheese eating experience. -Spanakopita/Tyrokopita ($13) - Comes in a trio, delicious and flaky! -Tzatziki Dip Appetizer ($9) - The tangiest, most garlicky Tzatziki I have ever tried. -Falafel Sandwich ($14) - Solid! Great, hearty falafels. -Beef Mousaka ($22) - creamy and amazing topping, perfectly silky eggplant and saucy beef base Staff was very polite. Great experience all around!

Have been looking for authentic Greek food in Seattle and stumbled across yannis. The only place I've found that has moussaka. Tried a variety of menu items. I had the beef moussaka and was not disappointed, super yummy! We also tried the dolma and I had a Greek salad as my side dish. My friend tried the lamb slouvaki & the lamb was super tender and flavorful. Was super full at the end but got some bougatsa to go, it came out warm so of course I tried a bite before leaving. Also the wait staff was super nice! Overall love love love this place and will come back for my Greek food fill.

I went to Yanni's Greek because I wanted to experience what Gordon Ramsay did on Kitchen Nightmares. First of all, I sat at the same table that Gordon did so that was an interesting start. I started off with the lamb lollipops which were very good and the perfect appetizer size. Then I got my moussaka as my main entree. Even though Ramsay criticized it and I am a fan of his, I felt his review was wrong. The moussaka here is made to order so it does take time. I grew up in a Greek neighborhood so I know what good moussaka is. When I dug into my moussaka, it was piping hot, wasn't oily and very flavorful. It's 100% legit moussaka for sure and it's worth the wait. It's absolutely shocking when you see what Ramsay said and what he wanted them to do in regards to their moussaka. I'm so glad they stuck to their guns and kept this dish the way they've always done it. I finished my moussaka to the last bite. I can't wait to return to Seattle just to order this again. When you dine at Yanni's, you absolutely must order the baklava ice cream. That is the best way to end your meal here. The baklava provides a great texture to the ice cream but it doesn't come off as soggy or inedible. It is blended in nicely with the creamy ice cream and comes off as guilty pleasure because it's not overly sweet so you can devour it easily. I lucked out because they had like a half a portion left and they gave it to me. I was so happy to have tried it and it really put an exclamation point to my meal. By the time I left, the restaurant was packed and I can see why. Even though I went to Seattle as a tourist, I always dine where the locals go. If the locals love it, then you know you're in for a treat. I was so happy to hear all of the stories about the Kitchen Nightmares experience. It was so interesting to me because you can really see what they gained from the show (decor and menu decisions) and it really made me love Yanni's even more. I wished I had asked about the pumpkin hummus because I see it's no longer on the menu.

4.5 but rounding up! The service was great, our waiter was super friendly and helpful. Ambiance was also nice, lots of plants and had a white/blue scheme that was nice and seemed authentic. As for the food: Chicken Krasati-- this was my favorite dish, it was very tasty. The combination of the artichokes and mushrooms and the slightly tangy sauce was a great combo. Saganaki Cheese: This was good, only thing that could have been better is the cheese separated from the oil immediately. Not sure if this is an authentic way to eat this but I've had it at other restaurants and it hasn't been an issue. Spanakopita Bites (not sure what exactly these were called, they were a nightly special): these were tasty, but they could have been crispier.

When my food came out, I was pleasantly surprise that my salad came with an order or fries as well and the portions of my meal was gigantic. Everything was made fresh to order and the food was pretty tasty. The chicken was fat and juicy and and they didn't skimp out at all. The fries was a little on the salty side but it was still good. I manage to eat the entire thing but ended up not being able to eat anything else the whole day. Service was standard. So you can imagine how pleased I was that Athena's was at the event. But the food was very disappointing and not something I would eat again. I ordered the Greek Salad with gyro meat, which cost me over $12 with tip. Once I got my salad it didn't look appetizing. I was surprised that the salad is made up of iceberg lettuce versus romaine, which I normally find with Greek salads. And since it came with cabbage and carrots I can only assume that the lettuce came from a mixed bag. That wouldn't be so much of an issue had some lettuce not been wilted or turning brown. Not amused. But what may be worse was the overcooked and heavily salted gyro meat. Not only that, but the gyro meat was very thin, so I do not think it was a rotisserie cook and shaved off like how gyro meat is normally made. I cannot believe I wasted $12 on this. I will not be eating from Athena's again.
