We enjoyed a nice dinner at Blazing Grill a clean and welcoming restaurant. My daughter ordered the lamb and beef garlic fries, and they were packed with flavor. My boyfriend had the combination plate, which was full of deliciousness and left him satisfied. I ordered a gyro sandwich it was flavorful and tasty, just not quite what I expected (no fault of the restaurant!). Overall, great experience and great food! We'll definitely be back.

So happy to find that this place opened in this neighborhood. There are already a few different shawarma and gyro places but I really love both the food and service here. They seem very hole in the wall and no frills but the food was delicious and they checked twice on us while we're eating to make sure we were having a great experience. We'll definitely be back soon

Yum! We came for lunch on a Saturday. No line. I got a gyro sandwich and it was large, very flavorful and piping hot. I'd definitely stop back by to try some of their other dishes.

We had an amazing experience at Blazzing Grill in Seattle! The kofta kabob plate was packed with flavor--perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. I also tried the chicken kabob, and it was incredibly tender and juicy, not dry at all like you sometimes get elsewhere. But the real surprise? The falafel--crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. Honestly, it's one of the best falafel I've tasted in the US. You can really tell they put care into every dish. On top of the great food, the prices are very affordable, which makes this place even more of a gem. The restaurant is clean too. We'll definitely be back--and soon!

I really enjoyed my beef kabob platter today and can't wait to go back. Excellent food, friendly service, a bright, clean seating area, and a convenient little parking lot.

Highly recommended!!! Service is amazing, food is always perfect and the best Chicken Shawerma I've had. Definitely comparable to a donair from Donair Dude in Vancouver, BC.

For some reason I tried it again today and was once again disappointed. Placed an online order to go: Greek fries and a side of gyro meat to throw on top, since sandwiches and bowls are $13-$16! Insane. I saw the bowls, they're not large. Not a great deal by any stretch, but that's lunch hour in Seattle I guess. The fries were soggy, barely any feta on top, and the "gyro" meat is just freakin' weird. It tastes like lamb meatballs. Not at all what I expected. On top of this, my order was not ready and I ended up waiting 15 minutes. Three people in line in front of me and three behind, but just one guy behind the counter taking and prepping orders, tickets popping out of the machine left and right until he cried uncle for some help. "Wow it got busy fast, went from no orders to backed up!" Yeah dude, it's 12:15. People get off at 12, call it in, take a piss and start walking to the restaurant, just like every lunch rush every day in a busy commercial core. I also dislike having to wait in line for a pickup order. I'm in a hurry. If you can't accommodate, I can go somewhere else. Just leave my order out! I did grab a jar of grilled preserved lemons to take home. Not sure what to use them for but they look delicious. All in all, not great, again.

This…read morewas exciting to me as I enjoy food from the Middle Eastern part of the world, and the entrees do look very enticing! We went on a Saturday around 2pm and it wasn't too busy at the takeout window. The restaurant is only takeout - there are benches right next to the takeout window, but there are only enough spots for 8 - 12 people (2-3 people per bench). The only other seating is at the nearby street seating offered by the neighboring bars, which I can see being restricted during peak hours. Parking can be very difficult if you plan on driving, there is only street side parking that is usually full, and nearby paid parking in lots. Service is fast, after we got our order, we only waited 5-8 minutes for our food. We got their recommended Soujouk (Beef) and Cheese Wrap for $16. The wrap is long, I would say about 13 - 14 inches long, and I can definitely seeing most people getting full after enjoying one of these. The flavors are nice and you can taste the spices from the sausage - I could taste cinnamon front and center with other earthy spices lingering in an aftertaste. The wrap is very decadent, the cheese is hearty and indulgent and that with the spiced sausage and textural difference with the cucumbers is pleasing. Do note with how indulgent this wrap is, you will accumulate a ton of oil in your wrapper as you enjoy it - a nap afterwards is in your future if you eat a whole wrap! I think that Yalla Seattle is a good stop to try these cuisines in a casual manner and the price is reasonable. There are some other items on the menu that kept my attention and I would totally revisit to try the other items offered by this restaurant.

Yalla is a walk up window, and there are just a couple of benches right outside where you can eat, and according to other reviews you can also go to Montana Bar next door with your food. The menu is posted in a couple places right next to the ordering window, and it's pretty easy to parse. Almost everything there is what I'd consider a "portable food", meaning something you don't need a plate, fork, and knife to eat, which makes sense given that it's not a sit down restaurant. They have veggie saj, meaty saj, mezze, a few sides, and a dessert. I really like their concise menu. We tried the baba ghanoush ($9.5), which comes with saj on the side, a batinjan and labneh saj wrap ($12), and a halloumi grilled cheese (halloumi grilled inside saj, $13). As you can tell, the saj underpins everything at Yalla, and their saj is excellent. Warm, soft, flaky, and tearable, it is perfect for both dipping and wrapping and grilling. The batinjan and labneh wrap is bursting (literally) with tender grilled eggplant, a rich sauce, and tangy, creamy labneh. It is truly one of the most delicious eggplant dishes I've ever had. The halloumi grilled cheese definitely hits the spot, and is more filling than you think by looking at it. Baba ghanoush is so smooth and flavorful, and I love the pomegranate seeds on top! The folks who work there are super nice, very friendly, and food comes out quickly. Prices are very reasonable, and I will definitely be back to try some of their meaty saj! This place is going into my regular rotation, for sure.

********CLOSED************…read more They recently closed and reopened under a different name. It's now called THE BOSPHORUS PALACE. We originally went because we had seen good reviews for Almanqal Mediterranean Grill. When we got there, the server mentioned it's basically the same place but with a different menu, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The food took quite a while to come out and when it finally arrived, it wasn't even hot. The bread honestly tasted like something bought from a grocery store. The rice was very bland, and although the salad was actually really good, the chicken was extremely dry, chewy, and lacked flavor. The presentation looked nice, but the taste just didn't match. The portions were also quite small, and the prices felt very high for what you get. The service was just okay overall. Maybe they are still new and working things out, but for the price and portion size it just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it felt like a waste of time and money considering the quality and quantity of the food.

We were in the Wallingford area and searched on Yelp for a place to eat and opted for Almanqal. The…read morerestaurant itself is a bit old but doable. The décor is function over form, i.e. basic. There were two staff members at the front, both of whom also prep food, cook, or grill. She told us to order at the cash register, but others had their order taken at their table later. While they have tables to sit-down, service was limited. They were also busy with takeout orders during the peak dinner time of 6pm. It wasn't until the end of dinner rush that they walked around the tables to refill water. Understandable given their small family business. The food is pretty good, more at a neighborhood scale; I wouldn't categorize them as 'worth the drive'. Prices are reasonable for the food, not high, not a bargain, either. The Food: Fried Cauliflower with tahini sauce, $10.50 - 4 Stars I have a strong affinity to Mediterranean fried cauliflower. Theirs is slightly soft but crispy on the outside nonetheless. Could be better, but we still liked it. Eggplant pickles, $9.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Grilled Eggplant, garlic, lemon juice, cilantro, The problem with ordering at the cash register is I tend to forget to ask question(s). My eyes lit up with 'grilled eggplant' (which I love) and neglected to ask if this is a hot or cold dish. It is a COLD dish and the keyword is 'pickles'. Chopped bits of pickle things covered the grilled eggplant slices. Cold eggplant is not that good, imo. Lamb Kebab Salad, $18.99 - 3 Stars Again, due to ordering at the register, I forgot to ask what kind of salad. While the lamb kebab pieces are very tender and good, the salad consists of uninspiring iceberg lettuce with tiny bits of tomato and tiny shreds of onions. Minus a star for the salad part. Lamb Kebab, $25 - 4 Stars This dish is served with one appetizer. We chose baba ghanoush. The fact this dish comes with a full-size appetizer makes this much more worthwhile than the salad. The lamb pieces are tender, and the rice is flavorful. The baba ghanoush is also good. Thumbs up for the trio. The overall rating should be 3.5 stars. I normally round down to 3 stars for the minimal service, but I am rounding up to 4 stars for the small family business.
