I came in for a vibration in my car. This shop told me I had three bearings that needed to be replaced. The repair was over $2000. I wanted to get another opinion. The next shop told me that all of my bearings were fine. None needed to be replaced. The vibration turned out to be caused by the tires. I saved myself over $2000 by not taking this shops word for it. The owner called me and refunded my diagnostic. I appreciate that he took responsibility for the mistake. read more

I took my car here for a 40K maintenance and was quoted a price online which explicitly included an oil change, full inspection, filter changes, and tire rotation. I was told it would take roughly an hour. The day of, I confirmed that all of the above would be done, but then was told they only change the filters "if they think they need to be changed." Fine. 30 minutes later, I'm told the service is done, which is much quicker than expected. I arrive, am told everything checked out fine, and that the only thing to be aware of is that my tires need to be changed soon, and that there appears to be even wear. I paid, left, and then went back inside, realizing that no one actually gave me a detailed report or line by line item of what was actually done. I had to explicitly ask for this information, which they emailed to me. After arriving home and reviewing the document, I see that a tire rotation was not done, but the was not even communicated with me. I had to call them back to ask why it wasn't done. The response I received was that they didn't think my tires needed to be rotated since the wear was even on all tires. My understanding is that regular tire rotations are *preventative measures*, not reactive ones. I'm upset that they were not transparent with me and that there was no refund or reduction in price on the service I received, which was essentially just an oil change and inspection. No filters were changed, no tires were rotated. As a female client, I am already hyperaware of the fact that I am subject to being dismissed and to being subjected to unprofessional service. Unfortunately, that is exactly what I experienced today. I spoke with the manager, Joe, about my experience. He was quite defensive all the way until the end of our conversation, during which he did offer an apology for my experience (though no refund was offered) and requested that I deal with him for any future service needs. I like to support local businesses, and I had high hopes for this one given all of the positive reviews. We drive Audis, and their pricing is a fraction of what the dealerships charge (even with a discount). My 2006 Acura MDX started making weird rumbling noises every time I turned the steering wheel, and engine check light was on (for a long time). Needed to take care of it in a pinch so emailed a bunch of places and Cameron responded quickly saying he could actually see my car within two days. +1 for responsiveness & ability to fit me in! Dropped off the car and Cameron communicated with me at least once a day with updates. Really appreciated the touchbase and knowing what was going on. He sent over quotes, listed out other things I should consider or keep an eye on, and helped me prioritize what needed to be solved first. Got my steering pump replaced as it was broken. They found during the fix that my steering pump hose was also leaking. They called to let me know and replaced that too and only charged for parts and not labor for that work since they didn't find it before starting the work. Appreciate that - that was quality. Picked up the car and felt so nice to drive without any rumbling noises. They replaced my spark plugs and coils as well. Unfortunately my check engine light didn't go away and they asked me to come back afterwards to give it a check to further diagnose what's going on (but they thought the car was safe to drive as I needed it for the weekend). Will do another time. All in all, I found my long term autoshop. Great team here that treats their customers right. Very honest and helpful. Responsive, communicates well, and does their best. Price was competitive with other places. Service and quality top-notch. Best bang for buck I'd say. read more

I was able to get an appointment for the alignment within 2 days of my call, and found everyone I dealt with (owner, the counter person, a tech) friendly, approachable, informative, and helpful. I think I reviewed this business years ago. I remember giving them high marks then and I am so happy to discover that they still provide 5-star service. Keep in mind this establishment does anything a dealer can do for your vehicle as far as maintenance and repair. I mention that because my dealership will charge me $300 just to look at my car. And that's for each issue. Kirkland Autoworks has stand up technicians with integrity and would never gouge their customers. I brought my car in for a terrible noise, they diagnosed it and discovered it was a minor fix (heat guard). They fixed it in less than an hour and so did not charge me!! That's unheard of in this industry IMO. They are always professional and I have spoken to Spencer and another mechanic there every time- and they are both friendly and helpful. Not "too busy" to explain things and not "put out" by my questions. I am really thankful to know this place is around for my car issues. And they saved me at least $300! read more

Needed to get some body work done on my 04 Subaru Outback... so like not a new car with readily available parts by any means. They had the part in super fast and had the repair done the same day the car came in. Amazing stuff. Price was totally fair, very upfront about everything and super communicative. On top of all of that, they were incredibly accommodating--I had a bit of a strange situation because I was trying to get this diagnosed as part of a previous insurance claim from years ago as it appears the other shop had missed this damage. Kirkland Autoworks went above and beyond, sending my insurer photos and other documentation as necessary and very quickly. Want to give these guys a good recommendations. My friend told me about them for oil changes. I hate the typcial fast lube places. Always trying to give you the hard upsell for stuff you don't need. These guys just give a good fair oil change at a great price. Probably near cost just to get people to come in. If they see problems with your car they will let you know, that's a legitimate businesses practice. But they seem honest and on the level, my car is little over a year old and I knew it didn't need anything and they didn't try to upsell me on air filters or wiper blades. Honest businesses deserve to be rewarded with good reviews. read more

I've been taking my 1998 K1500 GMC Sierra and my 2001 Honda Accord here for the past 5-6 years.. at least, not sure when I went there first. Found them through family referral long ago. I used to do all of my repair work myself so I'm not ignorant to the basics, but I'm not a professional. Spencer is the owner and the day in and day out representative and direct manager of the shop. He is also the senior mechanic. For better or worse he has spent his entire life becoming the professional you want working on your vehicle. I've never met a repair shop that I trust more. Actually, to this point, before I take a vehicle in I estimate what the repair will cost.. their repair is almost always less or within a few dollars but the quality of service and explanation of the repair is perfect. I used to do the work myself because I didn't trust mechanics but now I don't hesitate to take my vehicles to Spencer. I've referred family and friends to him and will continue to do so. I've lived in Kirkland most of my life. I'm going to keep going to KA and Spencer. He is as real and honest a person and businessman as you can ever ask for. He isn't pushing an up-sell. He explains your options and lets you decide. He does not press you. And that is why he has more business than he can handle. You should book a week or two ahead if you can. Writing 5 star review. I'm a middle age mom with very little mechanical knowledge. Staff are extremely patient in explaining technical/mechanical facts about cars in easy to understand format, despite the shop being obviously very busy at all times. This is a family business that demonstrates great teamwork and passion for their work. This most recent visit was prompted by getting in a minor wreck on I-405, rendering my car non-drivable. Staff answered 19 minutes after business hours and provided name of awesome local tow truck. Lobby/waiting room is thoughtfully decorated with surprisingly modern rustic wood paneling, modern sofa and phone charging wall outlets conveniently located next to multiple sit/stand tables and chairs. They also had awesome inside referral for hard to obtain rental cars. Car is being reviewed for repair under collision insurance quote. Will post update on repair soon. read more

We had a great experience with Kirkland Autoworks. They were quick and refreshingly transparent in their work to fix our car. We had just moved across the country when our car started to sound like a bulldozer. We were in a new city trying to find a place to live, and suddenly couldn't use our car to get around. We called Kirkland Autoworks about availability and were able to bring the car by the shop the following morning before work. Within hours, they called back to walk us through exactly what was wrong with the car, what was needed to fix it, and to provide a reasonable price quote. They didn't have the right replacement part on hand, but were able to order it same day from a supplier in Tacoma. By the end of the day, the car was fixed, and we were back on the road. Oh, and they even charged us a little *less* than they originally quoted us, because it took them less time to repair than they originally thought it would take. We'll definitely be coming back if we ever need car service again. read more
