We've been using Jay's Autoshop for over three decades, and that's not going to change anytime soon! We originally found Jay's via AAA approved auto repair shops. Not sure if that is still a thing, but it was very much an important selection factor 3+ decades ago. Over the years, Jay's staff continues to be reliable, timely, and never faked any repairs (as least as far as we know). They will tell us a component may need to be changed in the near future but can wait until the next tune-up. It's good to be able to prepare for the expenses. Even so, when the next tune-up occurs, they may still say okay to wait some more, that it's still looking good. That's all we need - honesty, reliability, timeliness. read more

Auto repair facilities get a poor reputation from places that do not perform quality work, are expensive and are not honest. I had heard from many sources that Jay's was a good place to take your car for maintenance and repairs, so I gave them a try. I had called around to have my drive belts replaced and Jay's was the lowest price, check for price. They were very responsive to calls and concerns settled my nerves. The staff is friendly and communicate with customers very well. The facility is bright and clean and looked very well organized. The work performed was done with great workmanship and quality. There was a slight mishap during the repair and they let me know about it and replaced with new parts instead just repairing the mistake. I really do not to have to take my car for repair but Jay's is a great place and I would recommend them to everyone. read more

I hate having to write this, but here we are. Came here for an oil change based on the reviews here and while the people are very nice, their quality of work has us running for the hills. We got home after the oil change and started finding oil under our car. They hadn't screwed something tight enough, or something and it was leaking. They booked us quickly for a few days later. Unfortunately still took them 4 hours to do the work while my wife waited. They supposedly fixed it, cleaned the area, drove it around, etc. A week later our oil level indicator went off (it has never gone off in the history of us owning this car, by the way). We can only assume that they didn't refill the oil after the leak. We put in a quart as the manual told us to do. 2-4 weeks later it went off again, another 3-4 weeks later, again. I don't see any leaking, don't know what could be causing this and honestly can't be 100% certain that it is due to the work at this shop...but as I said, we have never had an issue like this with the car and it started happening immediately after their work and, outside of a leak, I can't imagine what'd be causing this. So, now we've gotta go find someone else to fix whatever was broken here. Really nice people, but we are sharing a car and have kids that have to be picked up from stuff, we can't keep going back to have them fix their mistakes. read more

My car started making a HORRIBLE sound (like a knife being sharpened) when I accelerated or reversed. I had no idea what the issue was, but I needed help fast. I live on the east side but was getting married in Walla Walla at the weekend, and needed my car working by Wednesday. On Monday I called Jay's and they told me they could squeeze me in on Tuesday. I dropped my car off early and they were able to take a look by Monday afternoon. I knew they were doing me a massive favor looking at it so quickly, and they thought they may be able to repair my issue (which was some very bad breaks!) by end of Tuesday. To my total shock they had my car ready to get back to me Tuesday by 10am! They literally saved the day. Without my car I would have needed to beg for a rental to get all that wedding stuff over the mountains (not to mention the bride, groom, and our clothes!) I cannot say enough good things about these guys. They were kind, patient, understanding, and up front the whole way through. They never promised they could get it done quickly, and they overdelivered by a milestone. I hope to never have to ask someone to get my car fixed in two days flat again, but the fact they were able to make that happen makes them total heroes in my eyes. read more

I have been going to Jay's Auto for at least 15 plus years with my last two cars and am so thankful to have found them. If anyone reports less than 5 Star Service, something is wrong with their reporting or expectations because it certainly would not be the fault of the Auto Shop. All you have to do is look at their Yearly Awards for Excellent Service year after year that speaks for itself. I trust them explicitly with anything they say I need done and have never had any problems with either of my cars. I worried a little when I found out Jay the previous owner had retired but all worries dissipated when I spoke to the old crew who spoke so highly of their new owner Kyle. After I met Kyle, I knew why and agreed. The ownership may have changed but the "Excellent Service" continues. "Thank you" to all of you who are employed there. If I could give you 10 Stars, I would. My check engine light came on and after shop around I decided to take my car to Jay's. Andy was being very helpful explaining what the problem was, and I was able to get my car back in the same day. I liked how honest they are, suggested I should have my timing belt replaced. I didn't even know what timing belt is... Price is very reasonable and check engine light weren't on anymore. It is my first car and my second time dealing with car problem, repair can be very costly but for safety reason especially for a girl like me that doesn't know anything about car..my point is, finding a honest shop is very important. My son's 2002 Ford started acting up. I drive by this place all the time, read some good reviews, so I thought I would send my business their way. Called them and discussed the issues and Jay pretty much nailed it on what was wrong and what it would take to fix the car. Dropped it off the night before the service. Next day before noon they called and told me what it would take to fix the car. They also recommended a couple of other things the car needed to keep it in good shape. Never did I feel pressured or feel like I was getting scammed. He also mentioned some other things on the car, but said it didn't need to be addressed at this time, just some things to watch. Picked up the car, the bill came out less than the estimate. Nice. Very nice people, shop is clean. I see why they have been in business for so long. read more

I brought our Xterra into the shop with little advance notice and was ready to leave it there for several days as the shop was quite busy. I called ahead and let them know that I didn't need the vehicle back right away. When I arrived they said they were running about two weeks behind. To my pleasant surprise they called three hours later and said my vehicle is ready for pick up. Now that is great customer service! I have brought a few of our other vehicles there for service (with an appointment) and have never been disappointed. These guys are great! Friendly, quick, and fair. I came in to have a check engine light looked at. They did a quick plug in to get the code, checked my fuel cap and confirmed that it was in fact loose, tightened it up for me, and voila, no more warning light! I was in and out in under 5 minutes, and they didn't charge me anything. Other than being slightly embarrassed, it was an entirely painless process. Before I went to Jay's, I first stopped at another service center which told me that it would be over $100 to simply run a diagnostic, and that I would need to leave my car overnight and possibly longer. I can't believe I've never Yelped Jay's. These guys are solid. Always meet their commitments. No issues with them working on my S2000, CR-V or Prius over the past 4 years or so. On my first visit they recommended a new battery and I thought 'whatever, trying to make a buck' so I passed. It died 2 weeks later. Now I mostly go with what they advise. They can be hard to get in last-minute, the book up perhaps 2-3 days in advance. It's pretty close to downtown Kirkland, so I throw my bicycle in back and the pedal the last bit to work. read more

I love taking my car to this place. Besides the great work on my car, they are friendly and always explain what my car needs. They are also great at pointing out what stuff isn't needed immediately and what is - I never feel like they are out for my money. Jay's Kirkland Autocare was recommended by a friend. She's taken her Chevy van here for 15 years and it has 150K miles on it. I needed to have my 2008 Honda Fit serviced. The battery died in March due to issues I was having starting it up and I was told by another autoshop I needed an engine valve adjustment and tune up. I called to make an appointment - relayed the info from the previous shop and asked if they had time to take a look. I was told "yes, they could take a look" and that they are busier than they have ever been right now. So I made an appointment for the following week. I dropped off my car Tuesday morning. Reiterated the issues I was having and left my keys. I got a call less than 2 hours later with the results of their diagnostics - they could not replicate my cold start issues since my car was warm. They asked if they could keep it overnight - and told me it was most likely maintenance work I needed. Said they would order the parts needed to service it - so if it was just needing maintenance they would be prepared to do the work first thing next day. I allowed them to keep it overnight. Received a call at 1PM the next day. My car was ready to go. Even though it only needed the previously discussed maintenance - Andy walked me through exactly what they did, in what order to get my car up and running. I was at Urgent Care with my Fiancee when I received the call. I told Andy I would do my best to get there EOB. Andy said it was no problem to keep the car overnight if need be and wished my Fiancee the best of luck with her injury. This was a very thoughtful touch which left a big impression on me. I was not able to make it in that day to pick up my car. I let them know, and paid for the work over the phone. When I picked up my keys the next morning - Andy asked how my fiancee was doing - which again left a huge impression on me. My car now runs better than it ever has - the work was done right, for a reasonable cost in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend Jay's Autocare - as long as I live in the area - my fiancee and I will only bring our cars here. read more

Sometimes I notice some issues with my car and quickly stop by to ask questions and try to make an appointment. If the issue is small enough they quickly fix it for me and sometimes they don't even charge for it.
