I needed to find a Subaru mechanic. I can always get an appointment with them. The location is right off of the 405. The service advisors are courteous and helpful. You get electronic estimates and texts updating you on status of repairs. I have not had any issues with their repairs where I had to come back to address. For larger jobs they have loaners at no additional cost to you. That is helpful. Fixing cars is more expensive these days but compared to dealer their prices are reasonable. I recommend them if you want to find a good independent Subaru shop. And they also do Toyotas read more

Disappointed in the service from All Wheel Drive. I have a 2015 Subaru Impreza that has never had any major issues. It is typically serviced at the dealership, but I took it into All Wheel Drive for 60K service as it would be slightly cheaper than at the dealership. They reported that the alignment was off, and so I paid for a realignment. I took it back in 6 months later for routine service (I had driven less than 2000 miles), and noticed that the inside of all 4 tires were badly worn. They said this is usually due to an issue with the alignment, which they had supposedly fixed, and said that I must have been driving too aggressively. The admitted that it would be very unusual for the wear to be that severe with so few miles unless there was an issue with the alignment. Although they offered to comp the repeat alignment, I now need all new tires. They either a) messed up the alignment initially or b) did not notice that the tires were wearing thin. Regardless, their refusal to take any responsibility is my biggest complaint, will not be going back. read more

We are ne w to the audi line and after our vehicle sat for a while, we tried to start it up just before a road trip the next morning and to our shock it didn't sound right. We called All Wheel Drive Auto from a google search hoping to get some quick help. The person who answered listened to me describe the concern and kindly suggested I talk to the manager who was very familiar with German made vehicles. He was so nice to suggest that for me. Thankfully this person was available and over the phone put my concerns at ease. He was logical in his diagnosis and every point he made resonated for me. He asked all the right questions to get to an accurate diagnosis over the phone and I was very impressed with this....but that much more so with the integrity this man had to share this information with me over the phone verses convince me I needed to have the car looked at in his shop. His remedy totally fixed everything and the road trip went on as planned the next morning thanks to him! I will say one thing. I've been bringing my 2009 Forester here on and off for years. I took "Penny" to the dealership for all of her maintenance for the longest time. But, I find that the dealer just does what's on the docket, with no feedback & then if you have a concern you have to pay them by the second for diagnostics. When I finally gave up on that business and brought Penny back to the guys at AWD they quickly determined what needed to be done & got right to work. I can't really over emphasize When my transmission suddenly went belly up, AWD Auto called all over looking for a replacement and presented us with various options to consider. More recently, Jaime & Paul have been helping us with more fun upgrades like installing a lift kit, new tow hitch, skid plate, and so forth. Penny is looking extra rugged these days and we love having a shop that knows our Forester so well! read more

Received horrible service from Duane who was a bully and super unhelpful. The communication and the customer service is bad here. There are a lot of shady and predatory practices such as fear mongering to do unnecessary services. According to past reviews, they have a history of pressuring people into repairs they don't need. I got a second opinion somewhere else and more than half of what they recommended here did not need service and was not as urgent as they insinuated. I cannot get a clear answer from AWD Auto about anything. I also wasn't allowed to speak privately with the technician that worked on my car, I had the customer service representative Duane constantly interjecting to steer the conversation where he wanted. That's very suspicious behavior, like they were trying to hide something. Do not come here, they are untrustworthy. read more

TLDR: went to maintenance and brake pad replacement, came out and needed to replace rotors because something was stuck and rubbing so I had to go back. Very accommodating customer service. Depending on the service, you may need to drop your vehicle off overnight. But don't worry, they have complimentary loaner vehicles (just provide insurance and fill up on gas before returning it). The only thing I had an issue with is that my car started chirping after I picked it up from routine maintenance and replacing my brakes. I was told something got stuck in the rotors and that they were scratched in an irregular pattern so I needed new rotors altogether--I had to pay for the parts but not the labor. Of course, I was skeptical. I paid and got them replaced but I left with the an uneasy feeling that something went wrong during the initial maintenance and that they were doing a courtesy installment of new parts to cover up a mistake that may have been made. I'm not too familiar with cars but I can't imagine something getting in between rotors and brake pad literally just when I picked up my car. Something had to have gotten stuck before I drove it home. It was a bit of a pain because I had to take time off work to drop off and pick up the car. I'll give this place another try next time my car needs something and see how it goes. read more

Recently my Subaru Tribeca was overheating. I took it to All Wheel Drive, Kirkland, where I have been a customer since 2018. Paid for a diagnostic and was told I needed new head gaskets. Their estimate was $4,937.70 including resurfacing. I made several calls to other local repair shops and was quoted between $ 3100 and $3500 for the same work. I eventually took it to a shop in Woodinville. After running their diagnostic, I was told I needed a new radiator which cost $480.00 parts and labor. My overheating was fixed. I don't typically feel compelled to leave reviews on yelp but my particular experience has me motivated to do so. The reason I want to leave a yelp review this time around is that I choose this shop based on previous yelp reviews being an indicator of good service and I want to continue to promote this shop's reputation. There are negative reviews about this shop on their page but it is hard to tell what is truthful about their operation and what comes from peoples ignorance in dealing with auto shops and repairs. I recently had my clutch replaced at All Wheel Drive Auto and am very pleased with the service. Justin and Rudy are very knowledgeable about their craft and particularly Subaru's. They were professional, helpful, and courteous throughout the entire process. They quoted a better price with more value (resurfaced flywheel as opposed to replacing w/ $600 part) than any other shop I had contacted. They were communicative about the process and provided a service loaner vehicle free of charge even when they had to keep my car overnight unexpectedly. As shops typically do, they found a few more things wrong with my vehicle once they were poking around engine compartment. They called right away with quotes on all items that were needing attention and were able to discuss which items needed imminent replacement and which items just needed to be monitored. They were not pushy in discussing the extra work and respected my right as a customer to refuse the service for now but to also describe to me in detail the issues they had found. They also provided me quote printouts on all items they found wrong and presented them in order of importance. Overall I am very satisfied with this shop. Would highly recommend for any Subaru Service needed as these guys are the experts. EDIT: I forgot to add that I heard about this shop through a friend who had a clutch and transmission work performed on his '12 WRX. Great shop. Recently I brought my 2012 Outback in to a local Subaru dealership service center for the Takata airbag recall. While it was there, the service center diagnosed that my car needed a cooling fan motor replacement, for which they wanted to charge me $800+. All Wheel Drive Auto offered a free second opinion, ran some tests, and found nothing wrong with that part of the system. These folks really know Subarus and do good, honest work. I'm definitely glad to have them in this area. I plan to keep bringing my Outback in so they can help keep it running smoothly for as long as possible. read more

What can I say?! I called them originally looking for a window switch for my subaru. Got to talking about work my car needs, including head gasket repair. $1495 he said, I said "huh, really?", yes he said, and we'll have it back to you in 2 days. Well Carter Subaru (frankly the best dealership for subaru in the area) gave me a quote of $1900 plus it would take them a week! Given other issues that crept up in the recent cold spell, and knowing more cold was on the way I bit the bullet and took it in, after all I have the only AWD car in the family and if we needed to get anywhere my car needed to run. They inspected it and took the engine out. I had ordered some hoses from Carter Subaru and Ken had them delivered to AWD Auto along with their other deliveries which saved me a trip and almost $10 on both hoses (30% off!). As they took apart my engine to repair the head gaskets he noticed some other things that didn't get replaced when another shop did my timing belt and water pump. He offered to fix them all now with zero labor, even replaced a few hoses for free. When all was said and done they found on my test drive my power steering pump was leaking. He hooked me up with a lightly used one saving me $300 on the part alone. He also didn't charge me any additional labor to put it in. I had mentioned to him my need to get the work done but my tight wallet not allowing me to do everything they wanted. Ken went absolutely above and beyond by after the fact working with pricing to try to keep the end number as low as possible. I am so happy with the work they did, how they went above and beyond to accommodate my budget, and I even got a loaner car! I will never recommend another subaru repair shop to anyone else, ever. Now I can keep my paid off car for another 10 years, it drives better than when I bought it! Thank you Ryan, and Ken and all the guys at All Wheel Drive Auto. I brought my Forester here for a check engine light and ended up paying nearly $600 for a new oxygen sensor and radiator tubing + coolant. (they noted in my receipt that the mass air flow sensor was working properly) Of course they tried to offer several unnecessary procedures which i turned down including a new battery (which i replaced about 3 months prior...) All was fine until exactly one moth later when another check engine light came on and it happened to be the same exact code. I brought my car in again and now they said that my mass air flow sensor was shot and needed to be replaced. They estimated the replacement to be around $500!! I declined the repair because I knew that an OEM replacement mass air flow sensor costs $30-$40 and all you need to replace it is a screw driver. ANYONE with the knowledge of lefty-loosey, righty-tighty could do this for under $40... Moral of the story, if you have minimal knowledge about cars, STAY AWAY! They WILL take advantage of you over and over again. read more

After having a terrible experience at Eastside Subaru, I found this place (on Yelp) and I'm pleased at the level and quality of service. You can tell this is an AWD drive kind of place because I can't imagine getting any other car up that driveway without scraping the underside. Everyone I've interacted with at AWD has been courteous. Wait times have been reasonable and prices seem pretty good. These guys are nuts about Subarus! Ryan gets an A+ for emailing me some cool youtube videos of Ken Block drifting. It's been several months now since my major 60k service. My car ran flawlessly previously. Since this service, however, my car now stalls. It's stalled in the middle of traffic. I took it back and after a days effort, they were not able to find anything. Although I wasn't charged, I was also out of luck. Taking it to the dealership found much the same answer. I was hoping an independent shop, specializing in AWD vehicles would be able to find the answer. Not being a mechanic myself (as I'm sure it's the reason we all go to mechanics in the first place!) Still Awesome!!! Took my 2014 STi for it's 30k (12k overdue), and not only was the work done well, they managed to diagnose wheel bearing, power steering fluid, cabin air filter issues with quotes. They even have next 'few days' availability to squeeze me in. Their prices are competitive; still less than dealers. Time quoted to finish work; book rate, and still managed to some how finish ahead of quoted time; doesn't occur ALL the time, better than your average auto shops. I was searching for an independent Subaru auto shop other than the dealership. With the help of Yelp searching and my fellow Yelpers, I decided to go here. Turned out to be a great experience. I only got an oil change for now. I scheduled an appointment, but got there earlier. They said it will take 45 mins to get done, but I think it only took 30 mins, maybe faster (I wasn't keeping time) Price was competitive, but definitely more affordable then dealership. Great indie Subaru shop. They hit all the marks I look for; clean, well lit, friendly desk staff and techs and they're happy to let me take easy work home. I've had several repairs here, but still check with and use my other indie mechanic for some jobs. I originally found this shop because they're one of the few that carries Motul gear oil locally. When I arrived, they gladly informed me they also carry Subaru gear-S as well as the two other Japanese brands. Watch out for the non-85th street entrance - it's a doozy for anything but a high riding Subaru! read more

Just went here for an alignment today, and Kevin and Russ were awesome. I'm an avid car enthusiast, and Russ came frequently recommended online as the go-to guy for Subaru alignments. Aside from doing regular maintenance on Subarus, these guys are mod-friendly, so they were happy to give me the more aggressive alignment that I requested on my car (compared to normal settings). Russ had the job done in under an hour and provided the printout from the alignment machine detailing what settings were changed, and Kevin was very adept in explaining everything, plus he pointed out that my steering rack bushings were worn and suggested some upgraded replacement parts. Overall, the guys at this shop seem totally chill and competent - I'd brave the terrible traffic to head back there next time there's a job I can't tackle on my own. And to top it off, they were the only shop in town willing to sell me the special gear oil that I needed by the liter and at a reasonable price - the dealer would only sell it by the 5-gallon drum. read more

I have been going to these guys for around 3 years now, and I can honestly say they are the best when it comes to helping you with your Subaru. I recently traded in my STi and went for a Jeep Wrangler (Subi owners, pls don't hate), but still took my vehicle in for servicing to them because of one word: Trust. Though their core competency is Subaru, the guys at AWD Auto still offered basic service for my Jeep (e.g. oil changes, tire rotation, etc.). Although long-term repair work/maintenance will require dedicated Jeep techs, Justin, Ryan, and the crew have set the bar high in my opinion of what a great auto shop SHOULD be. When I had brakes done on my STi a couple years back, the dealership just quoted some overinflated price, with no breakdown of the costs. When I brought my car into AWD Auto, Ryan took the time to break down the costs, explain how the brake job was going to be done, and even showed me the parts that were going to be ordered and how those parts were more cost-conscious while being better in quality to what the dealership was going to dole out to me. Additionally, after the brake job was done, I was shown the old brake pads and how the wear had occurred over time, and finally given some tips about things to make note of for the future. While not all people may be as passionate for their vehicles, they indulged me in taking their time out to give me the details I needed to feel confident/take pride in my STi, which hey, was lightning on wheels, let's just be honest :) If you own a Subaru vehicle and care about its longevity, take it to a crew of guys who share that same passion. First off anyone knows, that if you put a new battery in there and tested the voltage you would know right off the bat it was alternator?? There was never any clicking ever when going through this experience. I have some knowledge of cars. In fact when I asked about the assessment charge, the guy helping me whispered and said well next we'll give you a discount like I was some kind of child. I never rolled the window in my car so therefore was not my fault either. Yet you decided to bill me for the inconvenience. AAA never replaced the battery, my battery was charged up and put back in. When I turned the wheel (2004 wrx wagon) hard over left or right, I was getting a ker-chunk, ker-chunk sound and feeling. I went to my normal mechanic and they suggested new axles though everything I read on line was related to the differential. Just to get a second opinion I took it to AWD Auto. They identified the problem and noticed some other issues, that frankly, while expensive, not totally unexpected ( Over 10years old and 150K miles). Brought my car in early and they got done before the end of the day and gave me a loaner just in case it took longer. Friendly, professional, busy! Good signs in a mechanic, especially a subaru mechanic. Asked some questions about things unrelated to my repairs and received some honest opinions and answers.
