There were several that were listed at "A Place for Mom". I toured several facilities in Orange County to find the best place for my Mom. Some of them were old, dark and then there were some that were on the higher-end that offered some really nice amenities and beautiful property but just way out of our budget. While doing my facility tours, I met a lovely young woman at a higher-end property who helped me a great ton in understanding & navigating this new life with dementia that my Mom, myself and the rest of my family now have to deal with. This woman was the one who ended up giving me 4 options and Ardent Care was the best one of the 4 (based on the condition and cleanliness of the property). Ardent was not far from the first property we toured. I walked in and asked a staff member if it was possible to do a tour of Ardent Care with my brother and my Mom. The wonderful staff member Alex was the one who accommodated our request. Alex was full of positive energy from the very start. I can tell she had passion for her job and compassion for their residents. Keep in mind our tour was unannounced to the Ardent staff (which meant they didn't have a chance to make sure the property looked pristine before showing us around). As we walked in, the lobby was nice and clean all through out when we were taken to the hallways and in each room and common areas (activities, dining, available room for a new resident). The condition of the property, the energy of the staff and the residents that we got to see/meet briefly made us think and feel that - THIS could be the one that is perfect for Mom. The previous tours we've done - I can tell from my Mom's body language that she did not want to live there. However, at Ardent Care - when she was introduced to the residents while we were touring the place, Mom played piano and said hello to the group so we took that as a great sign. It is now middle of October and almost 3 months since my Mom moved in. She has gained weight, has made friends and overall she looks good and younger compared to 6 months ago when she was staying at a SNF. To be fair, the staff at the SNF were really good to her, but the overall environment here and the activities at Ardent was what my Mom needed. The med tech staff are all experienced and they have been working here for a few years. My bro and I take turns in visiting a few times per week. There were a couple of times I've heard conversations between a visiting nurse with a med tech and they know the resident's history well and I can tell they really care. Great job to the whole staff who care for the residents - Alex, Fabiola, Jocelyn, Mabel, Brandy, Renee & Debbie. Thank you for all that you do for my Mom and the residents who depend on you!!! I was referred to…read moreExclusive Senior Care by a friend who is a hospice social worker and who often visited patients at Exclusive Senior Care over the years. She highly recommended these homes and I moved my mom here after stupidly having her in 4 other facilities ( yes, you read that correctly) that neglected her and cost 14,000 a month. Casa Bella is amazing! I haven't had a single issue complaint or concern. I am a former child welfare social worker so I do expect high quality and following of all safety regulations. This place has it all!! Three caregivers for 4-5 residents. The staff are knowledgeable, reliable and loving. The caregivers are stable and rarely leave the facility so my mom has staff that she knows. The owners of these homes are doctors and it shows. The staff are so well trained and I just can't say enough good things about them. The home contracts with an incredible home health nurse practitioner who visits weekly and monitors my mom's health. The caregivers stay on top of any changes in her medical care and notify the nurse and me. This home is half the price of those fancy assisted living and memory care in the communities that put all the elderly in the middle of a big room and leave them there for hours. These caregivers at Casa Bella treat the residents like family. They do activities with them and make sure they are engaging with them all day. My mother's room is absolutely spotless and she also is constantly well groomed. I've visited a few times without notice and it is always the same .. my mom is happy, comfortable and clean. My mom has dementia and no longer can speak so it is so important for me to have reliable care for her. I have been able to be stress free knowing my mom is safe and well cared for by Exclusive Senior Care. I welcome anyone to reach out to me if you want more information. As a family member and former social worker, we need to help others in finding good elder care because our older adults deserve to have safe and good care at the end of their lives. The care she receives in this home allowed my friend to go back to being a daughter and not a caretaker. They do everything for her from making her favorite meals to ensuring her safety. Her room is beautiful and has a view of the backyard. The room size is perfect for her. She is able to fit a recliner into her room so she can take naps without having to go to bed all of the time. The common areas are safe, nicely decorated and kept spotless. The staff listens to everything she wants/needs and acts accordingly. From the doctor who owns the facility to every employee who works there, you can tell they care about the residents. Getting older and needing help isn't fun but, I hope there is someplace like this when I get to that stage of life.

I've called for five days no person no way to leave a message. No way to push zero to get to a nurses station. If you have family here be warned because I'm disgusted. I come from another state where we take care of our elders.

She remains your friend even AFTER you move in-unlike the other community that didn't even acknowledge my Mom after we signed the papers and she moved in-not okay! I'm so thankful my Mom is spending her golden years at Park Plaza and is surrounded by great people, fun activities and great food. Knowing she's enjoying her next chapter in life at Park Plaza is so comforting!

I never seem to get what I ask for, or they say they ran out by the time my room is served. A French dip without the dip? We ran out of desert? The transportation is wonderful, they are patient and kind. The housekeepers are very nice and Debbie the receptionist is very nice and helpful. There are two higher up in personnel that seem to want to make life miserable for us. The activities have become close to null and the quarantine standards have made it very hard and lonely.

The staff in the memory care unit are all very friendly. Some of the standouts in friendliness and in taking an interest in my mom are Nick, Susie, Ariehanna, Marco (nurse) and Brittney (nurse). There was some frustration awhile back with my mom not getting her med orders from her doctor's office as Oakmont nurse fax was not working. This was eventually resolved when Ben intervened. Jhoana, director of nursing has also been very responsive. In dining in the Assisted Living dining room, the service could be improved in terms of servers checking back with the table to see how we are faring, and also asking if we would like drink refills. Isabella, a newer employee has been amazing though and goes above and beyond in these areas. She is definitely a stand out. Amy, the Memory Care Activities coordinator, has been great at trying to get my mom to come to activities. At times I have had a hard time connecting with activities department as I only have an email and it takes time to get a response back. I have wished there was another way to connect with them quickly other than email. Maria, the Director has been responsive and helpful when we have had concerns or provided feedback here and there. Edgar, Oakmont transporter, is very kind to my mom and responsive. Last but not least, the front desk ladies, Lexi and Maddy have been great! I love that they always greet me by name and are helpful with a multitude of things. I will mention one of the challenges of memory care is that there are different levels of impairment in the clients. My mom is higher functioning and I do wish there were more activities that she could join the assisted living residents in. This would require staff support and planning for her to go to some of those activities but I do think she would appreciate being with some higher functioning residents. She complains a lot about feeling lonely, as many of the other residents in memory care are not able to interact with her.

Brenda partnered with us and was willing to speak with the care providers and skilled nursing staff to better understand what would be needed for our family member's recovery and how Sunny Crest could support the post-care plan when they returned. Having them work with us and the medical team during that process meant a lot to our family and gave us peace of mind. One of the things that really touched us was seeing how genuinely happy everyone was when our family member returned. From the front desk and nursing staff to management and the restaurant staff, everyone seemed genuinely excited to see them and welcomed them back. It really felt like they were returning to a community where people knew them and cared about them. We also believe family involvement is an important part of assisted living. Sunny Crest is an assisted living community, not a hospital, a locked-down facility, or a memory care unit. Family members still have an important role to play by staying involved, advocating for their loved ones, and maintaining communication with the care team. I witnessed residents being treated unfairly and neglected. It was heartbreaking to see how little regard they have for the wellbeing of the people they're supposed to be caring for. Please, do not place your family members here. You will regret it. They deserve better.
