My mom loves it too. But the best part is the staff. They are wonderful. I visit my mom often and they all know my name and are friendly and most of the time my mom is sitting in the living room or backyard with one or more attendants playing games, chatting and laughing. My mom was struggling with being lonely at home and now loves all the activities they have there and all the interactions with the guests living there. She keeps telling us, "They are so nice to me here". She likes the food. Although for the last 4 days, she has wanted shrimp salad for dinner. It must be good. She has been getting great nursing care. They get her up with a lift and help her out with her needs. Mom has become more engaging with other residents and the staff. It has been good to see her brighten. My dad goes to visit two times a day, every day. Parking is plentiful and he has an easy time getting there.

This is free stuff I'm trying to give away and they don't even answer their phone!!! I would be completely concerned if I had a family member at this place. Take them out immediately. I've called for five days no person no way to leave a message. No way to push zero to get to a nurses station. If you have family here be warned because I'm disgusted. The place is beautiful, lots of flowers and greens, plenty of parking, lots of activities and I could go on and on about all the amenities; however, the most important asset this facility has is their staff. From the front office, administration, care givers, cleaning crew, kitchen and activities crew THE MOST CARING AND COMPASSIONATE, I have yet to find someone that is not that way. My father passed just a few days ago and all the out pouring of attention that Mom and the family has received from Meridian staff has been incredible. My has decided not to move out with any of us, we wanted to take her with us, we are all good children to her I promise ; but she decided that she feels so comfortable there that wants to stay. Better compliment than that of a resident having the choice to stay or leave and yet wants to stay can't be found. Thank you Meridian staff from my siblings and I we are eternally grateful to you for the compassion you shown to my dad and the love and attention you continue to give to my mom.

Our family unfortunately had a very poor experience. I would like to start with some positives…read morethough. The facility is really beautiful. It's well secured for memory care. The only other positive as far as memory care is concerned was Asuka. She was extremely considerate, warm and compassionate. A really wonderful person in general. Also, we pleased with the general caregiving staff. Now on to the unfortunate part, and I'd like to mention that it's unfortunate because 1. My uncle experience a huge decline in health very quickly, which yes this does happen with Dementia, but we truly believe his experience at Clearwater was a direct cause of an even speedier decline. 2. A business in the memory care/assisted living profession should be one that is skilled in such a sensitive area and we do not feel that is the experience we received. We were led to believe there was medical care available at all times, there was not. The head nurse at the time was a LVN who appeared to have no knowledge of how to take care of memory impaired patients. The take away on our end was a rough one. It was not at all how we hoped the experience would be for us and for my uncle. This already hard transition was heartbreaking for my aunt. I would just suggest really doing a deep dive when looking into memory care facilities best you can. It appears there have been some staffing changes at Clearwater in the past 6 months or so ago. We truly hope that this makes a big difference in every families and patients experience from now on.

At first, the change was hard for my sister, but the staff was so loving, patient, and genuinely caring that everything shifted. She now thanks me for having her there, which speaks volumes. The facility is absolutely beautiful -- we honestly call it "the resort" because it doesn't feel like assisted living at all. They also take residents on weekly outings, which we really appreciate. We toured several memory care facilities and nothing compared to Clearwater. Hands down the best choice we could have made. We're incredibly grateful for the care and compassion they show every day.

Carmel Village is an acceptable place for seniors who are still fairly independent and only need…read moreminimal assistance, meals, and basic housekeeping. However, once a resident requires a higher level of care, our experience was extremely disappointing. My mom lived at Carmel Village for two years. During the last four months of her life, as her care needs increased, the quality of care declined significantly. While Carmel Village charged additional fees for every added service--which we understood and expected--the care that was promised was not the care that was provided. One of the biggest concerns was the call button service. We were told that staff strive to respond within 10 minutes, whether a resident needed help picking up a dropped remote or had fallen. During the first two weeks after my mom began using this service, she regularly waited 20, 30, and sometimes 45 minutes for someone to respond. We met with Ruby from the office, who apologized, said she would address the issue with staff, and even told us she would personally respond if it ever exceeded eight minutes. Unfortunately, we never saw that commitment reflected in what actually happened. 2 months later, after my mom returned from the hospital on hospice, the problems became even more serious. Carmel Village charged us a fee for coordinating with our outside hospice provider, but we repeatedly found ourselves reminding staff when medications or supplies were running low because many caregivers seemed unfamiliar with hospice procedures. My mom was bedridden and had physician's orders to be repositioned every two hours to prevent pressure sores, yet there were many times when my sister and I were there for hours without anyone coming in to turn her. We also found ourselves constantly correcting mistakes involving meals and medications. My mom remained mentally sharp until the very end of her life, and it was heartbreaking to watch her concerns be dismissed even though she was often correct. Instead of being able to spend our time simply being daughters, my sister and I had to be at Carmel Village every day for several hours just to make sure our mom received the care she needed. During the final three weeks of her life, we had already begun making plans to move her to elsewhere because the situation had become so concerning. We also involved the Long-Term Care Ombudsman and held weekly meetings with the Carmel Village director, Mandy, and her staff in hopes of improving communication and resolving ongoing issues. Unfortunately, many of the same concerns continued from week to week, and Mandy often responded as though she were hearing about them for the first time, It became she is very out of touch about what really goes on in the rooms of the residents compared to what she THINKS the Med Techs and Caregivers are actually doing. We observed it all first-hand by sitting in my mom's room for hours every day. Choosing an assisted living facility is one of the most important decisions a family can make. Based on our experience, Carmel Village may be suitable for someone who only needs minimal assistance, but I cannot recommend it for anyone who requires significant daily care or hospice support. The promises made did not match the care my mom actually received, and I would not trust Carmel Village with the care of a loved one whose needs extend beyond basic assisted living.

Susan, the marketing director, was top-notch! She remains your friend even AFTER you move in-unlike the other community that didn't even acknowledge my Mom after we signed the papers and she moved in-not okay! I'm so thankful my Mom is spending her golden years at Park Plaza and is surrounded by great people, fun activities and great food. Knowing she's enjoying her next chapter in life at Park Plaza is so comforting!

I never seem to get what I ask for, or they say they ran out by the time my room is served. A French dip without the dip? We ran out of desert? The transportation is wonderful, they are patient and kind. The housekeepers are very nice and Debbie the receptionist is very nice and helpful. There are two higher up in personnel that seem to want to make life miserable for us. The activities have become close to null and the quarantine standards have made it very hard and lonely.
