Kitchen & Market is a boutique grocery store that also has a few shelves of convenience store candy. It seems like an odd mix and it's strange to me it exists and does well here, but the service was friendly and the space was open and airy. It vibes a bit like it's attempting to be similar to a store in the SF ferry building (a catch all for people while they're traveling), but there's so much space it feels like the upcharge is palpable. At the end of the day they don't carry much beyond food so I didn't end up purchasing anything to bring home with me. read more

Kitchen & Market is filled with things I'd love to eat, from Vietnamese chicken lettuce wrap meal kits and prepared dips and salads to all manner of produce and candy. The Caesar salad was tasty and I'd gladly return for another. The warm chocolate chip cookie was, sadly, just okay. Yelper, I did not finish it! It looked so promising but just did not deliver on taste or texture. My final gripe: I plucked a fancy tea from the 50% off sale rack only to find out it had been placed there in error. I was going for Pufftown Bakehouse next door but Kitchen & Market looked very cute so I came here as well. The store is spacious and I thought the baked goods were nice. I wanted to get the brownie or the cookies and decided to go for the chocolate chunk cookies, because it said it was freshly baked! The cookie was pretty good. Staff was nice too. What a cute market! Prepared foods and snacks of all kinds, and an extended assortment of meals ready-to-cook at home. We came across this location when strolling along the piers, and recommend the delicious rice Krispy treat and the winter caprese sandwich; good focaccia bread and lots of mozzarella and pesto, but note that there's a solid amount of a giardianara-like olive tapenade. A slew of bottled and can beverages, including varieties of Topo Chico in plastic and glass, and flavored ice teas. Everything in Seattle is pricey compared to Atlanta, so this is a spot to just go with it! read more

Earlier today was my first visit to Kitchen & Market at Pike Place Market (3/4/23). I have driven or walked past it many times. I also let a discount card expire at the end of last year, my bad! Loved the brightness, the displays, the selection, friendly staff, and the welcoming vibe. Nicely curated items for home, short stays, on the go takeout, thoughtful unique gifts, and treats for you or someone else special. Terrific option for folks passing through too: convention center visitors, business staff, tourists from cruise ship season, commuters as examples. Perfect destination with constant pedestrian traffic. Most items are local indies or from the PacNW. Love that their labeled items are indeed handcrafted in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood. Kind of breezed though and had to restraint myself from mega crazy impulse purchases. However, I did buy marinated chicken wings with za'taar ($11.07), another with ginger & scallion ($10.89). Plus Cold Brew Tiramisu ($9) and a Bunnies by the Bay Roly Poly Bun Bun ($12). Very pleased with these purchases. read more

This is the cutest of spots and I really wanted to like them more than I did. I got a couple of salads because healthy, veggies, on a vacation and boy was I disappointed. They had dressing on them, but I could barely taste one of them. The other one had some more flavor, but the total didn't quite equal the sum of it's parts. There were beans/lentils, different veggies, thinly sliced which is my favorite and some other items, but the food was quite meh, when I ate it. They did have some other marinated meats and some other items and I have to say that I wish it was something that I would buy upon another trip with a full kitchen, but I can only imagine how tasteless they'd be, if the salads are any indication. The salads were edible and didn't make me sick, so this is why they have the third star. But otherwise, it's a no going back for me. The people working there were nice. And it had a home, market kind of a vibe, but I wish that the food matched all of that. Unfortunately, it didn't. read more

Kitchen & Market is such a well designed mini market, offering high quality ingredients, meal kits, wines, cooking oils, and even kitchen gadgets! I make a point to stop by any time I'm the market for the featured soup of the day. I will be honest when I first walked in I asked why would a market like this be located at Pikes, as the local sellers offer fresh produce, cheese, pasta, etc. then it dawned on me what a perfect place to get wholesome meals for area residents, cruise travelers, and those on staycation. I really hope more locations open in the area or north of Seattle; if specialty stores are your thing I definitely recommend. read more

What better of a day to write a review for a woman-owned spot that International Women's Day?! I've passed Kitchen & Market so many times (from the comfort of my car) and have always been intrigued by how light and bright it appeared. So glad a recent stop was in order for me after a Community Experience! Did my fair share of looking around and was so interested in everything they have available here! Wines, local gifts, snacks, meal kits, and pre-packaged lunches are just some of the products you'll find here. They also have famous local brands like Molly Moon's calling your name from their freezer cases... It was lunch time, so I grabbed whatever was calling out to me - which happened to be fresh cut strawberries and their pre-made butter chicken and jasmine rice (designed for you to heat up at home). I snacked on the strawberries on the way home and can report that they were delicious - tasted super fresh! I heated up the butter chicken over rice once I got home and it was absolutely delicious. Fantastic for an easy, pre-made lunch! Also, treat yourself to some of their in-house made chocolate chip cookies! Love the sprinkled coarse salt on top. If Kitchen & Market was closer to me, I'd be in trouble. I'll definitely make this a regular stop of mine when I'm visiting the market! read more

Charming small grocer with fancy drinks, snacks and frozen foods. Prices are surprisingly reasonable for the area and staff are excellent. The inclusion of fish sauce and cheese in almost all prepared salads, rosemary in the lemonades and unfortunate presence of skooma addicts wandering in off the street are some of the things which could be improved. read more

As a wine enthusiast, I found varieties of wine you can't find in big-box grocery stores, it gave Trader Joe's wine selection vibes. Not only that, if you're not sure what to cook, they provide printed recipes of meals you can take home that pair well with the wine of your choice. During my visit, I had the chance to try their scones, and they were by far the fluffiest scones I've ever had. No butter was required, and their jam selection tasted like heaven in pairings with the scone. I would come back here again to get their scone mix. It's perfect and quick to bake for a tea party or sweet breakfast delight. I love coming here to check out the specialty foods and fresh made grab and go. They have a lot of options for dinner or lunch if you need some inspiration. You can pick up sauces and dressing that are easy to throw on meats or salads. There is a large selection of beverages, from soda to wine and alcohol as well. I bought some frozen ravioli from there and it was delicious! The ricotta and spinach flavor is recommended. I loved walking through the aisles and seeing all the different food options to purchase (all the way from fresh produce, to ready made meals and yummy jams). Ummmmmmm, hello my new favorite place! I was out and about today walking through the market and came across this bright and clean shop that caught my eye. Naturally, I had to check it out and see what was here. Initial impressions were that this is a nice specialty store. However, after I walked around and scoped the place out, it was more than just a specialty store. There were recipes with wine pairing suggestions, meal kits, prepared meals to heat, grab and take , etc. The prices are great for the offerings there and it is very conveniently located in Pike Place Market. I can't wait to go back to grab some meal kits, etc. They even have sections with recipes that have all the ingredients right there for you to purchase and make the meal. It takes the hard decision as what's for ludinner. Love it, love it, love it! Definitely a lifelong customer. read more

SERVICE // I didn't have a ton of interaction with the team inside but they were pleasant when I had a question or needed a recommendation. FOOD & BEV // Almost everything in the store looked like it was Kitchen & Pantry white labeled and their own products. I bought a premade salad and had a very tasty warm chocolate chip cookie. My hands were full so I couldn't carry home one of their meal kits but I'll definitely be back to try one at some point this week! read more

A really nice place to go to for a fine selection of local produce, goods, and easy to grab meals. They take an extra step to highlight local businesses which I can see faring really well with tourists and locals alike. While very aesthetically pleasing with an open kitchen concept and a variety of beautifully labeled delights, my main gripe with this place are the cost of their meal kits. I purchased a mushroom risotto meal kit for $35 and while delicious and very easy to make, it was extremely overpriced. Each item in their meal kit is also sold individually at their store so each item in my kit had a price tag. When I added everything up (risotto starter - $6, parmesan cheese - $6, compound butter - $6, and produce such as mushroom, parsley, shallot should equal to about ~$5) the cost of items did not equate to at all the cost of the meal kit. It is approximately a $10+ difference for them to just put the items together and print out instructions. I would rather opt into buying the ingredients separately and looking up the recipe online since it's readily available on their website. I was hoping to include this in my rotation of grocery stores to visit to explore trying new meal ideas and products, but will probably go here every once in awhile when I feel like treating myself due to their extravagant prices. read more

This has become a regular stop for me during my forays into the market! It can be best described as a sort of high end quicky mart I guess? Catering to the the gourmet grab and go crowds. I am a big fan of their fresh baked chocolate chip sea salt cookies that they display on cooling racks in their little kitchen area. How can you resist them? They also have a rotation of hot soups which have all been delicious! I've had the loaded potato soup and the kale with sausage soup and they were both tasty! Plenty of other grab and go things like sandwiches and charcuterie, cheese and drinks for a quick picnic. read more

I like this mini grocery market with healthy options and very organized appealing store display. I really like some ready meals and mango coconut panna cotta is very good. I heard sometimes they invite chef and do some dish presentation, which would be very interesting to attend. There are refrigerator cases with meals ready to go. (Some of these prices are pricey.) They have a soup du jour. They have ready made soups. Nice selection of candies and chocolates. I bought a Tony's Chocolonely bar--yum! It was $7 for the bar, which is par for the course when compared with Amazon's prices. The decor is all white, making a bright, well-lit place in which to shop. Conveniently located on the pier. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I give credit to Yelp for introducing me to this spot-- thanks to a Community Experience! I must have passed it dozens of times but just didn't realize what this business was. You walk in and it is a bright and clean store. There is a kitchen/demo spot right in the middle surrounded by local goodies such as pre-made meals, fresh produce, baking supplies, cleaning supplies, eco-friendly alternatives to your everyday products, wines, and so much more! It is a beautiful store with the aesthetic that will definitely bring tourists in. If you're visiting Seattle and at the market, I definitely recommend going! There would be lots of local things to bring back or take-home meal kits to try while you're here! I got to try a chicken peanut salad that was in their pre-made section and it was so fresh and delicious. I wouldn't say it was anything special compared to anywhere else but it was really yummy! I knocked off a star because of how steep the prices are. For example, there is fresh produce for a hefty price when there are fruit stands at the market for much cheaper. I just LOVE this place. As someone who seeks easy, fresh, clean eats and loves supporting local businesses, K&M is a dream living near. They have everything from affordable and easy meal kits, grab-and-go items, marinated meats, delicious sides, inventive desserts, and even fresh cocktail mixers - all, that I believe, are reasonably priced. Everything in the store is made in-house or locally sourced, which makes the decision to buy here even easier. Some of my favorite repeat items are: the chocolate mousses, traditional tuna salad and chicken salad for an easy lunch sandwich, roasted cauliflower with garlic and rosemary kit, coconut chia pudding, overnight oats, ginger scallion sauce (goes great with their roasted tofu). Both offer the same items. However, I found my favorite dessert here (as pictured) Coconut Panna Cotta. I've had a variety of desserts since I've been to lots of restaurants in WA, Canada, and NY that are highly rated on Yelp. Good food and good service but a definite recent change to my fav salad, chicken Cobb, a more than 50% reduction in protein. Chicken and bacon replaced with more filler lettuce. As someone with a gluten allergy who can't eat much else in this market or the surrounding area, this is really disappointing. I don't mind paying more when something is worth it to me, and the salads used to be worth it, so good and didn't cheap out on the main ingredients. Live in the neighborhood and so glad this place exists. Unlike most other places in the market, they are open late enough to walk down and grab stuff for dinner. For us, we are down there at least once a week. They have a wide selection of prepped meals, with simple instructions and the quality is great. In addition to the prepped meals, they also have a wide selection of what seems like a hand-picked list of a chef's favorite staples and brands with products that they would have in their own kitchen! Some standouts that are on our home dinner rotation: - Meat sauce lasagne - seriously amazing lasagne that comes frozen and you just throw it in the oven for a little over an hour - Pre-brined and seasoned whole chicken - so moist! - Chicken Tinga - we've used it for tacos, enchiladas and even a chicken soup And.. browned butter rice-crispy treat - you read that right! read more

I can always appreciate an upscale overpriced fancy grocery store. Let's just put it out there, you know when you come to a spot like this it's not going to be cheap but it is positively delicious and pretty looking. Bright and open spaces allow for fancy displays of food and pre-packaged items ready to grab and go. I was impressed with the take-out items that offered quite a good variety of vegetarian salads, sides, and small meals. Everything here is also incredibly fresh looking and not sitting sadly idle for days. I splurged on a fresh garbanzo bean salad which was quite tasty but was sadly missing the mama lil's peppers listed on the ingredients. Came in for the grand opening today - and I am beyond excited this store moved into the area! It is my dream- I don't have the time or patience to cook regularly and they make it super simple to have delicious meals, snacks, and other goodies at your disposal. Plus a market open til 8?! Upside: Nice to have a mini-food emporium in the neighborhood. Have been there 2-3 times, tried a few of their dishes. Butter chicken is delicious, corn chili soup meh (husks/hulls left in the soup). Found out about them after they generously donated to the Seattle Humane Society. We've tried several of the kits including the Kalbi beef and the Thai chicken curry and they were amazing!!! The quality of the food is top notch, nice instructions and 15 to 20 minute cooking time. They had a pickup spot up front and another time I actually found parking within a couple blocks and it was very cheap for street parking. Great meal kit options with high quality ingredients and easy to follow recipes. It is apparent that the packs are thoughtful in terms of what items should be already prepared to make it easy to whip up impressive meals with little time. We ordered a mother's day brunch menu that saved us a lot of time and stress and the family enjoyed everything. Also have used it for general meals.
