Chef Peter is the real deal. I contacted him to cater our firm's holiday party this year. From…read morefirst contact to the two months leading up to the event, he was responsive and kind. He worked with me on a menu and he delivered my vision. Even with extreme circumstances (another vendor broke our garage door 24 hours before the event) Chef Peter and his crew took it in stride. They were on time and hauled their heavy equipment in and got straight to work. He was basically cooking/grilling on one side of our building (back patio), having to run back forth to the interior kitchen and sink. He and his crew worked SO hard that night. They are very professional. Every plate was perfect, they cleared the tables and made sure everything was spotless when they left. I also hired Jacob the Bartender (he works with Chef Peter) and WOW! Crafted cocktails and excellent service. Every person who was late to my party was sat and had a drink in their hand in less than a few minutes. Jacob was a pleasure to work with. Great bartender. I could not ask for a better duo for the night. Also big thanks to Tomas and Erick - their waitstaff. Amazing night they pulled off. I'm a perfectionist. Type A host. I'm very particular on how I throw my parties and Chef Peter surpassed my expectations & more. My entire firm will not shutup about how amazing the food and service was. The party was a hit and I believe it was because of the food & bar. I will 100% hire this team again for future events.

I have to qualify this review first by saying I have worked as a professional cook and have owned a…read morecatering business. So I have an eye for and know what works and what doesn't, what can be prepped beforehand without sacrificing quality, and what can be done on sight and off-site with the aim of making sure everything is properly expedited and comes out on time. When I arrived the table was set up nicely set up and decorated. However, we had previously informed Chef that we were going to be 13 and we would like two tables, as some people are uncomfortable with sitting at a table of 13 people. So we had to ask Chef to please separate the two tables. When Bridgette came the day before, my wife mentioned she wanted a table of 6 and one of 7, not two tables pushed together to make 13. There were also no cloth napkins, but paper napkins. I guess assuming that a request for "linens" did not include cloth napkins, only tablecloths. Even though this was done in our home where we are well equipped, I still expect anyone coming to prepare food to come fully equipped to meet their needs without having to use the home equipment. This was not the case, as Chef used our Kitchenaid, tongs, and other items. As well, they did not have a serving platter for one of the hors'd'oeuvres. Furthermore, they had to use some of our silverware because they did not bring everything needed (spoons, forks). There were steak knives on the table when we were eating fish, and no other knives. Finally, they used all my kitchen towels-easy enough to bring your own hand towels. As well, because we used the plates on the table for hors'd'ouevres, they had to wash and prepare again for salad plates, as they had expected the hors'd'oeuvres to simply be finger food. Nonetheless, the hors'd'oeuvres-asparagus with prosciutto and chicken bites, or whatever they might have been-still require plates. This delayed serving. Personally, I would have brought the salad all prepped. Because it wasn't prepped, it meant a longer serving delay. The server didn't know the difference between wine and water glasses-some basic protocol needed. The food was excellent, served hot and fresh like it should be. We had a delicious shaved fennel salad with parmesan, and a main course of Blackened Sea Bass with a succotash and roasted potatoes. That is the beauty of preparing on-site. I say this with the caveat, as mentioned earlier, that a few things could have been prepped beforehand without sacrificing quality. This would have allowed the service to flow more quickly and not have such long delays between dishes. As Chef prepared the chocolate mousse on site, some people had to leave before dessert since it took well over 45 minutes between our main course and dessert. If I had done this lunch, I would have brought the mousse pre-made. They used up my whole bag of ice too-I would have brought ice. Finally, food left over was taken away and not left with us. I asked the server I f she was going to leave the food to me as she was walking out and she laughed uncomfortably and said no. My assumption is that the client paid for the food, they should get any leftovers. I give Kudos to the Chef for excellent food, but the service was uncomfortably slow and everyone noticed. Finally, the server was inexperienced. Overall, organization and attention to details were lacking. To end on a positive note, they did an excellent job leaving the kitchen just as the found it and were friendly and professional despite the hiccups mentioned. I didn't have to worry about anything. If you are looking for good food, Chef Mumsie does a great job. But please ask that they send you experienced servers, and make sure to point out every possible detail that you can think of, because in my experience, they did not have a checklist or form to check off what you do or don't need for an event.

Then luckily, Chef Mumsie messaged me, we had a lovely conversation over the phone, and the wheels started turning. Within 2 days, Chef Mumsie put together an entire menu, featuring 4 different unique flights of food, along with the quote and contract agreement that really blew us out of the water. She listened to our budget needs, while still providing delicious and decadent food that our guests loved! On top of that, she assisted with our event in other capacities out of the goodness of her heart. We will definitely reach out to Chef Mumsie again next year!

Edit to my below Review: Finally received the Dx code asked for my final visit, likely based on the…read morereview that I didn't get it when I previously asked for it. This office is a great option if you are not wanting to bill insurance. Practitioner knowledge and results from my assessment continue to be positive. While I continue to have decent results from the assessment and recommendation of Dr Valenzuela, it was the office experience related to billing that garnered this not so fab review. I was a cash patient recommended to her office by another practitioner. I needed the superbill with the Dx codes on it to submit to my insurance company for reimbursement as this office doesn't work directly with insurance. I have asked for this code on the receipt from my last visit three times now since mid December and received no reply. At one point, I was told by Dr Emily that if I book my appts, the DX code isn't on the superbill, but if she books it, it is. Why is their a "book online" option on their website if she wants to book the appts? Furthermore, I paid her over $400 and am only asking for a Dx code for the last visit. It takes less than 5 minutes to add this to the superbill! Her last reply to me is and I quote. "We are a cash base business, because what we do in our clinic is generally not covered by insurance. So sorry we couldn't be of more help. The best thing I can do in the future is recommend getting an HSA insurance plan. You put money into an account that you can use for services such as mine or your chiropractor and then your insurance premiums are lower. Good luck" The HSA is a great suggestion but not attainable for me at this time. I did end up getting partial reimbursement for the initial visit from my insurance, and I know others who have these services covered by their insurance, they just have to bill and need the Dx code! Not a big ask when you are charging $225 for the initial visit and $90 for follow ups! Sheesh! I have since found another practitioner who does what this office does and does bill insurance and is super easy to work with. As sad as it is for me to give this review, the lack of response from Dr Emily speaks for itself.

I have been seeing Dr. Valenzuela off and on for years for general maintenance and thyroid health…read more(I have Hashimoto's/hypothyroidism). However I had never really honed in on my thyroid health and fertility and wanted to prior to conceiving as I was anxious that it would be impossible to get pregnant due to my diagnosis, or would take longer than most. I also knew that if I was to become pregnant, my risk of miscarriage was much higher. Therefore both my husband and I started to see Emily regularly about 8 months prior to when we wanted to start trying. She took me through the CellCore supplement program where I detoxed from heavy metals, parasites, viruses (all big triggers for autoimmune disease) and more, and additionally worked on my thryoid and adrenals with acupuncture. Within a few months I started to feel huge changes, my skin cleared up, my hair stopped falling out, my brain fog had dissipated and I felt so good and really prepared to try for a baby. The first time we "tried" and weren't even really trying we got pregnant. I honestly was in shock and beyond excited. I am now in my 35th week of pregnancy and been seeing Dr. Valenzuela regularly to ensure baby "stuck" and that baby and I have both remained healthy throughout. I haven't had any tiredness or weird symptoms that most people complain of during pregnancy and I have to credit regular acupuncture treatments with her. Emily has been an endless source of information and made me feel so calm as a first time mom and I highly, highly recommend seeing her for autoimmune problems/thyroid health, infertility/fertility, and anxiety!
