I've heard nightmares from many people about home improvement projects, which is probably one of the reasons it took us forever to look for a contractor, but when we finally decided to bite the bullet and remodel our kitchen, we chose really well. First, Mike was amazing in terms of helping us with with a design because I have absolutely no ability to envision what something will look like when it isn't yet there. We took out 3 rooms so that we could have one large kitchen/great room. He had endless patience and had to work even harder because we're members of Direct Buy (which saved us a bundle on cabinets, lighting, furniture, cabinet hardware, etc) but we were not comfortable using their kitchen designers since they were out of state. He found us a great designer here and worked between both designers (the one we had to use from Direct Buy and the one he helped us secure) and he made everything happen. Second, and this is big, he had things arranged and then we had to postpone everything for a month so that our son could have a graduation party. Anyone else would have given us a hard time but Mike, because he's so very kind, said "of course he should have one", and he rearranged everything without a single complaint. Now, down to his work. PERFECTION!!!!! He was here EVERY moment of every day. He does a lot of the work himself, and his tireless attention to detail is nothing short of amazing. The subs he uses are also fantastic with the same devotion to detail and getting EVERYTHING right. Mike did a ton of work in our house, both indoors and out, as we decided to add some other small projects, and again, never a complaint. And, oh...THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED ON TIME AS PROMISED. My wife came up with the Idea of having our original cabinets professionally painted and stopped by Anchor Glass and Cabinet in Great Neck. The Owner Greg came to our house to look at the kitchen and gave us some great ideas and designed a whole new look that totally transformed our Kitchen at a very fair cost that was in line with our budget. . He added beautiful new crown molding to the top of our original cabinets and then had his shop take off all the doors on the cabinets and had them custom painted ( with a color that we picked ) in his shop. His custom painter Kim then came to our house and taped and sanded and resprayed the frames of our cabinets and reinstalled the freshly painted cabinet doors . His capenter installed a new backsplash and Greg installed new handles on the cabinet doors. Greg's ideas and work totally transformed our kitchen. All of our friends can't believe how great our Kitchen looks. If your kitchen needs a new look I highly recommend Greg of Anchor Glass and Cabinet and his team of painters and carpenters. They've installed storm doors, an automatic garage door opening system and flood lights for my exterior work and for the interior they've remodeled my entire basement and playroom.
