Kitchen Galleries is a wonderful small outfit on Lafayette street in Santa Clara. Last year I was remodeling my downstairs bathroom and was looking everywhere for a design/retail place that would be affordable and offer wide range of bathroom products. I did some internet searching and found Kitchen Galleries. After talking to first Dario, and then Marina, I decided to give them a try. That was the best decision I could possibly make! Marina came over to my house, took measurements, wrote down very carefully the items that I wanted incorporated into the bathroom. A week later she presented two distinct designs. I was really impressed. Then she took me to a tile store so that I could choose the tile, trim and accent. Marina did all the calculations (and there were correct! no change orders!), suggested plumbing fixtures and storage options. She gave me a precise estimate of all items: towel bars, shower head, shower faucet, stone, glass enclosure, even light sconces. I must honestly say this was the best remodeling experience I ever had. Kitchen Galleries recommended an installer, he was wonderful and detail oriented. He completed the job within 3 weeks. Marina stopped by a few times during the construction to help me choose paint color and answer the installer's questions. It was reassuring to have her keep an eye on my remodeling. We absolutely love our new kitchen and library...: We met Marina and Dario when we were shopping for a crystal cabinet kitchen. We instantly liked their approach - they carefully listened to our requirements and came up with a set of designs from which we picked up the elements we liked. Then they helped to blend the design with excellent choices for cabinet finishes, plumbing accessories, granites, tiles, lights and even knobs. We saw what difference an architect makes, compared to many other installer-turned-architects. Marina and Dario worked with us on every detail, went to the stores with actual material samples to make sure that everything blended perfectly. Their attention to details, from the positioning of the colored glass tiles to the orientation of the pendant lights was super and relieved our stress level significantly. At the end we have a wonderful kitchen that we have been enjoying for the last six months. A few things went wrong, as it often does in a large custom home remodelling project. However they went on overdrive under those circumstances and we quickly came up with alternatives that were just as good. Right after finishing the kitchen, we remodelled our office library and without hestitation, we went back to Marina and Dario. The library came out excellent as well. Kitchen Galleries is a small business specializing in kitchen and bath design, remodeling and project management. The business and creative approach they use is quite simple. Designers come out to your home to discuss your needs, wishlist, budget. They take measurements, establish overall time frame and make professional recommendations. Within a week they prepare one-two design scenarios with rough prices and labor estimate. They bring the numbers, design sketches and materials samples to the next meeting, so you can see and touch everything they are proposing. If you like the design and materials, and after necessary revisions have been made and labor costs addressed, you just place the orders with the designer, get a delivery date for all the products and schedule the starting date of theh project. One or two days before the delivery, one of the Kitchen Galleries designers calls to give you heads up, so you are ready to receive the cabinets, tile, plumbing fixtures, etc. The contractor and his crew should be also ready and present on the day of the delivery. Once all products are in your possession, the project begins and usually lasts 4-6 weeks. The designers stay in touch throughout the course of the project, and are available by phone, email and jobsite visits in case of a problem or unforseen contingency. read more

These guys a bit hard to find, but trust me - once you do you will be happy you have tried! Apparently run by husband and wife, which is my preference, I am done dealing with home depots and lowes. They carry EVERYTHING you need for remodel: cabinets (not only regular maple or cherry, but stuff I have never thought existed: zebrawood, african mahogany, lyptus, bamboo, vg fir). Countertops in silestone, cambria, ceasarstone, zodiaq, also custom butcher block, Corian and meganite, also tons of green counters like richlite and recycled glass!!!! Huge selection of sinks, faucets (just a few on the display but I was able to sit down with catalogs - great help and no pressure!) I checked some other places but this place strikes me as the real deal. They have pretty cool books of the photos - the jobs they have done in the past. I must say I have seen every possible style idea in those books. Design is free if you buy from them. The gave me a list of their previous customers and their phones, the list is also extensive and I have been pleased so far with people's comments. I just can't wait for my bonus to start on my new kitchen! read more

Our kitchen was finished in Dec 07 with some damaged cabinets, covered under the KitchenCraft warranty, but require that Kitchen Galleries (KG), turn in the list of items needing warranty coverage. KG will not turn in the list until we pay everything they think we owe. KG keeps creating new charges monthly, such as over $300 for a combo of: handles they never delivered to us; restocking fees; shipping fees; freight fees, all of which they never advised prior to purchase. Even being charged nearly $1,000 for 2 damaged cabinets which KG refused to take away, now demand that we return them in original packaging or pay full price for these cabinets that their recommended contractor identified as damaged, but he installed. We paid out of our pocket to haul away other cabinets received damaged. The KG charges are being added after their "Final" bill. On top of everything, once again, KG has told us not to e-mail or call them. Kitchen Galleries will not even mediate through the Better Business Bureau, Santa Clara District Attorney, or MasterCard to get this matter cleared. read more

PROFESSIONAL, CREATIVE, MOST SATISFYING is the experience me and my wife had with Kitchen Galleries. A few months ago we went to Kitchen Galleries for our upcoming kitchen remodel. We had checked several other companies but found them too expensive or unprofesional. Kitchen Galleries seemed a perfect little company to handle our kitchen, they have a beautiful showroom and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The cabinets, layout, silestone countertop and sinks they recommended were of really high quality and well priced (we had shopped around by then and could compare prices). They did not charge any design fees unlike other companies, Dario came out to the house himself and took measurements. Our custom maple cabinets were delivered on time and right to the house! We were quite impressed with the high level of professionalism and customer service that both Marina and Dario provided. We get a lof of compliments on our new kitchen from friends, family and neighbors. We are extremely happy and highly recommend KG and would use their services again read more

Curious how this business keeps having any ratings less than 5 stars get wiped off the reviews over and over. Check out the other review sites besides Yelp -- the reviews don't disappear mysteriously from them. Kitchen Galleries web page says that they "have a network of prescreened qualified general contractors, licensed and insured, who will be happy to bid on your project using the plans we prepare." They provided us a list of contractors for our kitchen project. One never returned a call to even provide an estimate. Another confessed that he had never done a kitchen as a prime contractor, only bathrooms. A third had no workers comp insurance (not required as a sole proprietor), but uses his wife and son to help on the installations. A fourth also has no workers comp (also not required), but uses an unlicensed, un-insured electrician (a relative). He even offered to do the kitchen without permits. Quite a collection of contractors from their network of prescreened contractors. read more

would definitely recommend Kitchen Galleries! They designed, coordinated and remodeled our master bathroom last summer. The overall experience was more than gratifying and satisfactory. Baoth Dario and Marina listened carefully to what we wanted, and, most importantly, stayed well within our limited budget. The layout of the new bathroom is comfortable, all tile and fittings were selected my me and my husband because Marina took us to the tile store, and she did research on the faucets and showerheads. I must honestly say that the master bathroom is the best looking room in the house! Marina and Dario recommended an excellent installer to do the job. They helped manage and coordinate all details of the installation, scheduled glass enclosure workers and vanity top fabricators. All that and not a single extra charge for change orders! Kitchen Galleries were with us every step of the way. I am very proud of my master bathroom and will be going back shortly to start on my kitchen remodel. read more

Marina and Dario helped me and my wife design and remodel a house we inherited from her parents. Dario came over at no charge, took measurements of both bathrooms and the kitchen. A few days later he came up with a nice design for the kitchen, Marina with really elegant design for the baths. We were impressed. The prices seemed very competitive and we placed the orders. Kitchen Galleries helped find a wonderful installer whose attention to detail was more that any homeowner can wish for. The house was fixed and sold for over asking price! We were so impressed that we later went back to Kitchen Galleries to redesign a kitchen and two bathrooms in our own home. We love our new kitchen. Our son had a new kitchen designed by Marina & Dario and we were so impressed with the results that I knew we had to have one designed for us. The results are great and every day I appreciate how efficiently the kitchen works. Some of the features that I like best are: Pull out recycle and trash bins. Large lazy Susan storage units Purified water source. Multiple power outlets / improved lighting and I guess I must say that I am happy with the entire kitchen 12/13/11 Update: we had to put our house on the market and everyone who came to see the house just loved the kitchen. We just closed escrow with over asking price because the seller had to have my kitchen. Way to go, Kitchen Galleries!!!!!!! read more

We cannot be happier!: For years we lived in brand new homes which were comfortable but did not necessarily have the style and design we would like. When we decided to buy a 48 yr old house in spring 2005, we wanted to make it truly the way we would like. We asked Kitchen Gallery to design the kitchen, the laundry room and 3 bathrooms (two bathrooms required moving interior walls). They listened to what we wanted and came up with designs that exceeded our expectation. They were also very thoughtful and attended to details in every step. These guys are fantastic! The cabinets they spec'd are top notch and the kitchen design is amazing. The support during the build was amazing in their direction for the contractor and their attention to details. Everything works, and there's nothing doors that interfer with each other or drawers that can't be pulled out all of the way. We can't say enough good things about them. read more
