So what is Kitchen Place? It is a location on Owensmouth in Canoga Park, that has commercial kitchens for rent. The kitchens have numbers, that are essentially room spaces where numerous pop up and culinary hopefuls reside. There is no dine in or seating. It is strictly a carry out operation. Not sure how many businesses even have websites. That is okay, and not a problem. Text and messaging are omnipresent and are powerful tools. And so far, that is how I have communicated with them, to pick up my culinary delights. I am strongly in favor to support these type of potential start ups. In my assessment, these are the grass roots culinary seeds that will one day become the awe and highlight of the LA dining scene. But very sadly, they have done a horrible job in showcasing this place or their talents. When you arrive, it is more than confusing, there are no signs to tell you where you should go. Which building? Which Kitchen? And where is the name for the business that I came for? Where is the signage? It is a frustrating exercise. I ordered a surprise bag from Rumis bazar a day or so ago for pick up today between 3:45-4:45ish. I leave my house to head over to the west side if the valley, it is quite some distance but I wanted to try this place with the surprise bag. On my way they changed the pick up time to 4pm! I canceled my order. It was perfect before they changed the time bc I have another appt after, a vet appt, but it doesn't work for me at 4pm. It takes 20 mins to get there bc of valley traffic and 20 mins to get back. I'm very disappointed. If your doing surprise bags with pick up times don't change the time. Set the time accordingly when you offer the bags, not changing when patrons are on their way. I wasted gas and time and gas is expensive now for what? NOTHING! read more

I decided to lease my own private space with The Kitchen Place and thus far I've had nothing but positive experiences. I was able to build out my unit according to my own specifications. The facilities are clean, SECURE, veeeeery well-maintained, and there is 24 hour access (that's the cherry ladies and gentlemen). We have been using The Kitchen Place now for about 2 months and it has always been a pleasant and productive experience. I have found the management very friendly and accommodating. I had been thinking about using a kitchen like this for some time, but none of them could accommodate my specialized kettle. The Kitchen Place had the correct electrical outlets and allowed me to use my kettle. I would, and have already recommended this facility to anyone who wants to cut out the overhead of a private kitchen when you have a seasonal business such as mine, or for newcomers. The beauty of this location is you can book a kitchen by the hour or monthly. We have also met some very dedicated business owners that have made The Kitchen Place, their permanent place of business. We're Misha's Kind Foods, a vegan cheese company (the best I might add!) and we've been renting a kitchen from Elad at the Kitchen Place for just over a year and man let me tell you, this space is a GOD-Send! Elad maintains the space and is actually onsite often, keeping the place up. He's a joy to be around! We also rent space in the community refrigerator which is walk-in and is great if you need overflow space. We've made some friends for life at this kitchen and Elad is one of them. It's safe and secure, gated onsite parking, security codes on the main door and on your own personal kitchen. There's an ice machine, clean restrooms and we have 24 hours access, plus a loading area for our shipments. Seriously I can't remember a time that I've reached out to Elad for anything and he's not responded within an hour or so. He's super on it and we beyond grateful to be here. Ensaymada Project needed to grow and the next step working from home was a shared kitchen. My husband and I thought it would be a ridiculously tedious process. We first visited Kitchen Place in Canoga Park, just 30 minutes from Santa Clarita, and met the owner, who is a very kind soul. He toured us around and because of how he treated us, it instantly felt like home. We visited other facilities but nothing seemed to be a fit just like this one. We moved equipment as quickly as we could and planning on designing a pick up point inside our cubicle, number 12. "Do whatever you want with it," he warmly said. "It's like your own apartment." Long story short, Ensaymada Project has a new home warm enough for customers to come, pick up boxes, maybe observe production, and go enjoy ensaymadas. I think we will be here for a long time.
