I love Kitson. It has always been a go to place whenever I need any type of unique gift. Either at the adult store or the children's store. No more! The owners conspiracy theories and total lack of safety regarding covid have soured me. This is a retail store. I do NOT want to have politics thrown down my throat when I'm shopping. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't want to hear it when I'm shopping. I recently went to Kitson kids to find something different to gift my little sister and I must say. I was pleasantly greeted when I walked in by a sweet girl named Lily'Rose. She's super knowledgeable. She quickly helped me and offered many options for me to choose from. She even went out of her way to help me decide on what to get and then gift wrapped it. Super fun spot, esp for gifts! Always can find something unique and hilarious here. My only problem here was when I bought a bunch of gifts over the holidays and since I was still doing more holiday shopping, I asked about return policy and was told not to worry about it, they extended it till after the holidays and I'll definitely will be able to return if I change my mind. I used most of the gifts, except one thing - when I came back to return, they issued a store credit and said that they never accept full refunds, only store credits. Well it would be nice to know this when I asked about returns in the first place. It was a minor return, maybe $20 - but was a bit annoying. But now I know. :) read more

Finally decided to treat myself and my daughter to a bit of retail therapy. Picked up a few fun things at the kids Kitson up the street, then popped into this store. The merchandise is always so great. Too bad the attention to Covid protocols and service sucked. As we made our way to the back of the store I noticed a male employee with his mask off. When I asked him to please put it on, he refused saying he's on his break and that this is the break area. I pointed out that we're in the same space, sharing the same air. There's no separate room or partition for this "break area". He kept arguing so we left. We were ready to purchase a few more items, but didn't feel comfortable in that environment and I didn't want to support a business that isn't even willing to make their customers feel safe. I am local and l have always loved Kitson and the product they carry! But every time I have come in to one of their stores I have witnessed either the owner or what seems to be his assistant (blonde lady) treat and talk to their employees so disrespectful and inhumane that it makes my shopping experience very uncomfortable! Even with me I've asked a question about the product and got such a aggressive snarky response from the "owner" it made me never want to come back. It's so unprofessional and I feel horrible for the staff. Their kids store is about 100 degrees with no ac and they still have their employees work there like a sweat shop! No matter how great your product is you won't get far treating people that way! read more

The Kitson "Sale" Store on the NE side of 3rd and Robertson has great little deals! I spent a whole day's pay shopping there Sunday afternoon. The young lady working the register was also, assisting to the customers needs and wants, there was some pretty heavy foot traffic while I was shopping. Accommodating and doing this by herself. First you enter you have the feeling that' it's a great place with a big variety of clothes, gadgets etc after 2 mn you realize that it's so overpriced for no reason and most of their products you can find online probably 4 times cheaper. Not to mention how rude they are, you ask a question about a product and you feel as if they are attacking you! Definitely not worth it, don't waste your money there. Horrible. I purchased several items online and had a few questions regarding my order. Reached out to them via email multiple times. No response.. They are even charging for shipping in this day and age (regardless of the amount spent). I wanted to buy more from them but they made that very difficult. I ended up shopping on a particular brand's direct website and they were outstanding. Extremely helpful and very responsive. The retail business is so difficult right now. You would think Kitson would at least try to get their customer service right. How much effort does it take to answer an email?? Guess that isn't a priority for them. read more

This is my most favorite gift store! I always feel like a kid in a candy store. They have the funniest gifts and best gift ideas. My friends and I were shopping on Robertson and decided to go into Kitson. They have the cutest novelty products. My friend and I were standing at a table and he's a comedian. So he was telling me some jokes that could be construed as "offensive" to some people. He told me one and all of a sudden this guy within earshot chimes in: "How dare you say that, that's not okay". So he and my friend begin arguing. My other friend was headed to the registers to purchase something. We left the man and went to go join him at the register. Turns out the man is the OWNER OF KITSON. Yelling at us. Arguing that we should never make awful jokes like that, how dare we. He had said things such as "Well, I'm older than you" and "I hope you don't get shot". AWFUL comments that I couldn't believe an owner of an establishment would make to customers. We're all yelling at him from behind the counter and my friend grabs his card back and demands an immediate refund. We go and exit the store and the owner has his phone up and is taking photos of us. How entirely unprofessional! I could not believe this had actually happened. I will obviously never return. read more

I'm not sure how to rate this in stars, because I love this store for the variety of oddities and kitschy merchandise. I've not been there in years, due to the distance. With that said, I made a day of shopping in the area. When I came into the store, we were greeted very warmly; however, it appeared that I was being followed. Every other display area that I checked out, here comes someone to straighten the area that I just moved away from. Then, I moved to yet another area where now a man came to comment on whatever it was that I was looking at. I know that you will have some sarcastic response; I've read prior remarks. I was just in the kid store with my daughter who happen to like a plastic doll and I gave it to her to look at while I was shopping the manager came by and made me feel like shit for letting my eight-month-old daughter touch the doll because it touched her mouth. he told me we can't clean plastic and I have to buy it not even in a nice way. Just rude!! And looking at my 8 month old baby like a problem. he was rude inconsiderate and the grumpiest person I've ever seen in my life he should not be working at a kid store! Overpriced Iranian owned stupid store and they have the audacity to rip Kitsons name. I would have sued them for ruining a name. Owner walks around and takes toys out of your kid's hand. Dumb person this is how people shop. I bought 1000 dollars of mostly interesting and China made toys all super duper gauged from the customer the very first time because my 18 month old was having fun there. Next time we went every toy he touched owner came and removed from his tiny hands and put it back somewhere the store.
