I was told to go sit in a room with another person and we read a sign that said that warranty work would cost a minimum of $25. I asked about it and was told by one of the employees that she couldn't explain it, and she didn't agree with it. A man came into the room and we asked him. He couldn't explain it either. I asked how they could charge for something they couldn't explain. I said it sounded like a "PFP" pure freakin' profit. I guess I need to find another eyeglass place, I mean, if they can't explain the charges to you, why buy from them?

Dr Kandra is so nice and knowledgeable.. she listens carefully to my concerns and always has a plan laid out for me. Scott and Jonathan are great too! She is incredibly nice and makes you feel comfortable about getting your eyes checked. My four stars are solely directed towards her and her work. If I were to rate my overall experience, I would probably give it three stars. The woman who takes you for pretest before your examination, I forget her name, is slightly rude. For instance, when doing the pressure test, I have a really hard time keeping my eyes open to get an accurate reading. When I went today, she had to retake the test numerous times and I could hear her heavy breathing and annoyance each time, which didn't help an already stressful situation. When she asked me questions, it felt rushed and like her mind was elsewhere. It just made for a stressful experience. Lastly, when ordering contacts or trying to schedule an appointment, it can be a challenge to reach them, and even after leaving a voicemail, sometimes you don't get a call back. Overall, the service of Juliann trumps the lack of customer service from the other workers, which is why I rate it four stars. If they could fix some of the those bumps, Family Eye Care could be really, really great in all aspects.

Then sent out sunglasses which ended up taking almost a month and then the side that goes over your ears was broken. They were an older frame for sure but no reason for that part of frames to be damaged when they were only doing the lens. Glasses were fine however will not return due to slow processing.

For some reason, finding quality eye doctors in the Southern Maine area is a task. Having been to…read moreone eye doctor for about 7 years, I was hesitant to go somewhere new, but I am SO glad I did. I ended up coming across Beacon Eye Care after my dad came here and sang their praises. I scheduled an appointment and from there, it was magic. When I walked into Beacon Eye Care (which literally looks like a house), the woman at the front desk was incredibly nice and the place was pretty empty, which is also something I could appreciate. I was then welcomed by Dr. Lauren Boutet, who was such a gem of an eye doctor. I talked to her about some eye irritation I had been having and how my other eye doctor kind of dismissed it as dry eyes. Lauren took the time to figure out exactly what was going on and it turns out, I have an intolerance to some contact solutions! Ever since she diagnosed this issue, my eyes haven't been irritated and they are feeling great. She also went through my eye exam and she was incredibly patient and really put me at ease. I honestly HIGHLY recommend Beacon Eye Care and definitely will be a faithful patient of theirs.
