I was visiting New Hope from Philadelphia over the Christmas holiday and happened to walk past Kitto Opticals, which had a gorgeous window filled with luxury frames. My attention was immediately captured by a stunning pair of Thom Browne tortoise shell glasses. Because I have no willpower whatsoever, I went in and asked to try them on. Though my vision is quite good at 20/15, I love a good pair of statement eyeglasses. The Thom Browne tortoise shell glasses were just the statement I've been on the hunt for. I love the classic tortoise shell color with the sleek, modern rectangular lines of the frames. I knew I was in trouble when I tried them on and they looked great on me. At $675, they are also an investment, though I'm a big believer in buying less, and spending more for quality. Josh of Kitto Optical encouraged me to snap a photo of the frames and take my time thinking about it. The next few days I was STILL thinking about the Thom Browne frames and called Kitto Optical to buy them. Josh answered the phone and was so nice and helpful. Not only did he give me a great price on the frames, he also offered to personally drop them off at my house in Philadelphia so I wouldn't have to wait to get them!!! As I don't have a car, I was blown away by his thoughtfulness and consideration. The store is open, spacious has an amazing selection of the top brands, fantastic prices, awesome customer service and delivers on their promises. Josh was AMAZING!! I have been looking at Chrome Hearts eyeglasses for many years and after visiting so many boutique eyeglass stores along with the Chrome Hearts store on Washington Street in Manhattan, I decided to pull the trigger. Once I decided on them I did not know how difficult it would be to find a store that had them in stock and at the best price. This is where Josh made me a believer. What's sets Chrome Hearts apart is they use only the highest quality materials and their commitment to slow, artisanal craftsmanship. Every pair of glasses undergoes a tough quality control process. They use only the finest materials, such as .925 sterling silver and premium-grade lenses, to ensure that their products are both durable and visually a conversation piece. The other stores I visited did not make me feel wanted as a customer, did not have the model and color I wanted in stock and did not offer the best price. I wanted the glasses to wear for an upcoming conference and awards meeting at the of September. I first came to Josh in Early July. He did some checking and felt confident on meeting the date I gave him even though others couldn't. He knew I was set on the Chrome Hearts pen 15 and was committed to find them. In the end I just picked them up on September 9th not knowing what he went through to make this happen. After I picked them up he shared that all indications were that through the normal ordering system he would not be able to deliver them until February 2024. Josh was not discouraged, literally did a world wide search and negotiated to get them from Asia on the promised price. He showed me all the emails he had to send to accomplish this feat. They are all about making sure you feel comfortable and confident about your choices, and they have so many great options to choose from. This is easily the best shop for eye frames I have ever been to If I wear glasses, I want them to be cool. But I have very specific ideas about what suits me/ what I like - so usually I might find one or two frames in a shop that are OK. This place is very different. Josh has curated the most amazing selection of frames I have ever seen. This of course creates a different problem. How do you choose when you love almost all of them? I went with my daughter when she picked up her glasses that she raved about, and when I saw them I had to agree. Large selection of quality frames that are unique and stylish. I ended up finding several frames that I really liked. Josh is very helpful with picking what would look good and I wasn't rushed at all. I was told I could take my choices across the street to compare them with ones in their other store to see if there was anything I liked more. I wasn't getting my new prescription for several weeks, so my frames were fitted and held for me. All I had to do was email the prescription and then pick them up. So easy to work with. No more need to go to NYC for cool frames; it's all here. If you're tired of the ho-hum frames offered by the chain optical stores, you'll be happy with the huge variety of frames at Kitto. They are not cheap, but the quality is super and tons of top designers' works are available. I chose a really 'out there' frame, with Verilux lenses.
