My daughter and I love Kiwi! Their smoothies are awesome, I get the Muscle Builder every time, and add kale, whey protein, and substitute whole milk for almond or oat milk. My daughter always gets the Chicken Caprese Panini or wrap, and I always get the California Club wrap. All wraps and sandwiches come with a side of healthier chips, like SunChips or Veggie Snacks. The menu has so many options, one day we will try something else, but we love what we love. They have breakfast and lunch options. Smoothies, Juices, Açaí Bowls, Wraps, Panini's, Sandwiches, Crepes, Salads, Coffee and Baked Goods. The family that owns and runs it is always so nice. It's a cute little cafe with seating inside and outside, nestled within a strip of businesses. I have sat outside a couple of times when it's warm, but I mostly get takeout. read more

I'm giving one star because I couldn't give zero stars. The girl who was alone in the cafe waited on us. She didn't speak English well and didn't listen to what we wanted. So far I have only tried the smoothies, and they are sweet and refreshing. I chose the pina colada. The flavor was good, however, the banana in it completely overpowered the other flavors. Plus it has no veggies or protein. I added spinach and would have added protein powder if I hadn't eaten lunch around the same time. For the price, the smoothies really should be more balanced. Otherwise, it's an overpriced dessert beverage. In addition to smoothies, Kiwi cafe offers açaí bowls, paninis, salads, wraps, and more. They have seating indoors and a couple outdoor tables with umbrellas. I would order from here again, but would choose a different item. read more

I had heard good things about Kiwi Cafe and finally got there to check it out. 3 of the 4 workers were wearing masks properly and another was wearing a chin diaper. So the restaurant was not following COVID policies. Kiwi Cafe offers many salads and sandwiches as well as smoothies and breakfast all day. Everything ordered is made to order so it will take some time as it isn't prepped ahead but the fruit is cut as they are making the food. I had a kale salad with apples and strawberries. Continuing my smoothie kick I decide to support the little guys and head to Kiwi Cafe. It's so close to home yet I've only been twice in the past few years and turns out there's a reason; I really don't like giving reviews when I don't enjoy my experience. Truth be told, I want to like it so much. The food descriptions sound so good! Inside it's colorful, albeit a little confusing decor. So, I'll keep my review fairly simple. I ordered the ABC smoothie. It took awhile to get it. It didn't seem all that busy and I'm fairly patient. So I wait. It tasted like a protein shake that maybe had some fruit in it. It was, frothy? My husband got the Chocoa and same. It's possible that I'm just not used to this type of smoothie. It just isn't for me. The man running the place had his mask under his nose which was a little unsettling at this time but I'm not overly concerned, still worth noting. I guess that's it. As mentioned the wraps and salads sound great so I feel like I may go back to try those but the smoothies just weren't good. Location is great, plenty of parking. read more

After reading Yelp reviews and being in Wakefield a lot lately, I made it a priority to stop by Kiwi Cafe. Very happy that I did! There are a lot of yummy salad options but I decided on the cobb - the very friendly employee told me it's the most popular salad. My order was brought over to me so fast! Granted it was off hours to be eating lunch (2:30 pm) but it was fast service. The salad was very good - grilled chicken, dried cranberries, Gorgonzola cheese, avocado and loads of spinach. The balsamic dressing on the side was very good, too. I'd order this salad again but leave off the avocado and cheese - my fault for not paying attention. I was going to order an açaí bowl to go but the young lady was honest enough to tell me they don't travel very well, so next time I'll make sure to order one and done in. Grabbed a smoothie for the road - it was quite good as well. Every employee (maybe all family?) were so kind. I plan on returning and bringing my husband - the chicken salad sounds like something he'd love and I want to try a different smoothie. Great healthy meal options here! read more

I didn't try the smoothies, just the Chicken Caprese Panini. You can customize any of the sandwiches on the menu to be a wrap, regular sandwich, or panini. They also offer add-ons but at an extra cost ($1-2). I thought the overall flavor was good, and it wasn't soggy at all. The bread was a little too soft to be considered a panini, however (very faint grill marks). It also had a balsamic dressing that wasn't overly sour and the grilled chicken was thinly sliced which was much more enjoyable than eating large chunks of it. For ~$10, they could've been a bit more creative than just substituting French Fries with Veggie Straws (those multicolored straws from the bag). Even giving the option to pick a side such as fruit or making their own vegetable/fruit chips would look AND taste much better. Putting a handful of Veggie Straws next to the meal feels like a cop out. Overall, probably won't be going out of my way to come here, but it's a fast and easy option to go to if you're around. read more

I was in the area and found this cute cafe with heathy options, right around the corner from my doctor's office! They offer online and mobile app ordering, and I was able to get a $3 off promo for doing so. The inside of the cafe is very mellow and chill, great place to sit and chat with some friends. I ordered a chicken caprese panini and the chocoa smoothie. I was totally satisfied by the smoothie, it was everything I was craving and tasted how I wanted and expect (based off of the description). The panini was good too, but it really was more like a grilled sandwich with multigrain bread. The balsamic was almost a bit too overpowering, but the balance in the sandwich was just right. You have the option to do a wrap instead, with a few different wrap flavor options. You also get a little side of vegetable straws. My total came out to be a little over $15 (with the $3 off), so it was slightly pricey to me. I would say definitely go if you're looking for healthy options in the area, but keep in mind prices. read more

The hubbie and I heard this place was going to have their soft opening on July 29th, so we loaded up in the car and went to check it out. I must say, for this to be their first day i was impressed. Of course they are still in the throws of figuring it all out and figuring out how to make it all move smoothly. However, even being their first day the staff/owners were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. the place has a fresh feel to it, and all of their stuff is organic and fresh. We had the white mocha iced latta. It was very good. The longer it sat the sweeter it seemed to me, and while I like things on the sweet side it was almost a little too much for me. (I was informed that all the syrups they use are natural, which is why they may be a little sweeter than some of the processed stuff) I encourage you to give it a try yourself and decide what you think. For me, next time, just b/c i want more of the coffee taste than sweet, I will probably ask them to put one less pump of syrup in the coffee. We also had the chocolate croissant, and it was exceptional. It was very tasty. Chocolatey yet flaky goodness. Defiantly a keeper. While there, we saw friends, and they ordered the chai frappe and the green smoothie, which i was able to sample. I reallllly like both of them. The chai frappe was perfect.....it reminded me of fall in a cup. and the green smoothie....who knew spinach and kale could actually taste like that?! we were only there for dessert, but i look forward to going back for lunch or dinner soon. A couple behind us was eating a sandwich and it looked delicious, and healthy. While you won't get a footlong for $5, I can guarantee you the quality is way better and healthier. For the quality of what you are getting, the prices are excellent (just a little over $7 for most sandwiches.) There are also gluten free options as well as vegetarian options. I've been in at least a handful of times since they opened. I enjoy their tasty smoothies and juice drinks. I just tried one of their breakfast wraps last week and was very impressed. I love that the items on the menu are advertised as organic. Everyone that I've encountered has been pleasant and accommodating. Update: I fell in love with the breakfast wrap and revisited to find out that their stove/grill was busted. Huge disappointment. I ordered the iced Chai tea instead and wasn't impressed at all. I've gone back another time and it was still busted and I was given the option to have it without being toasted. I decided to give it a try and it didn't agree with me. I think the breakfast wrap I had a few weeks back was as good as it will get. I'm back to smoothies for future visits. read more

My favs are the Cobb salad (I eat half for lunch and half for dinner) and the tarragon chicken wrap toasted. If I feel a cold coming on, I get a 3g juice. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. I always see a ton of people coming in and out of Kiwi and I've been waiting to check it out. Kiwi serves a range of healthy salads, sandwiches, fresh pressed juices, and smoothies. Everything is super fresh and healthy! I love having so many options to choose from. I'm constantly on the road for work and would love to have an option like Kiwi everywhere I go. I ordered a green smoothie with protein on my visit and it was delicious. You can add anything you'd like to your smoothie. I was tempted by the fresh juices too and look forward to ordering one on my next visit. The food coming out of also looked really good so when I have more time I'll make it a full lunch next time. I have been to Kiwi a couple of times. The first time I had a frozen chai and the second time I had a club sandwich. Both of these items were ok. I had my sandwich heated and they heated all the ingredients including the lettuce. Not the best to have wilted spinach and arugula. Nothing was outstanding or something that I couldn't make at home. They didn't make their own breads or roast their own deli meats. I asked. I felt like the service was a little slow but I will give them that they are a fairly new business so they may still be working out the kinks. This is a pretty expensive lunch option. For just a sandwich with no side it was over $8.00. If I would have added a drink then it would have been over $12.00. They are so many lunch places on New Falls of the Neuse and South Main to be paying that much for a weekday lunch. read more

Love love love the food here. The only reason it's not rated higher is because of the 1/2 dozen times I've been in the service was slow and not friendly. Today, knowing it takes them awhile to get food ready I called my order in. Even after I arrived it took an additional 30 mins to put two to go salads together. The guy doing to go orders was obviously overwhelmed. A few of the employees snapped at each other. I asked for no avocado on mine and watched as he forgot and had to pick it out. Healthy on the go! It is my goal to get everything on the menu here since they take such pride in knowing where their food comes from. Organic and Non-GMO as often as possible, which is basically everything all the time!!! I have had all the juices, which are all great, but my favorite has to be the 2G's: carrot, ginger, garlic, sweet potato. I also love the Red Velvet: red beets, apple, carrot. The Turkey and Gruyere is my favorite sandwich so far as well, don't frown when you read the ingredients it all works beautifully! Stay tuned as I work my way threw the menu! The concept here is healthy salads, sandwiches, and drinks like smoothies or wheat grass. They have a great variety of smoothies to pick from with some nice flavor combinations. It's a cute little cafe with a couple small tables outside. With all those positive things said I have been here several times (10+) and have finally decided it is not worth it to me to leave so irritated each time when I can easily make the same thing at home. The lack of friendliness (especially from the elderly man who always seems to be there-he is miserable and not helpful when asking about items) is not only lacking but non-existent. The customer service is horrible! The service is ridiculously slow. 30minutes for a smoothie with only 2 people in front of you? That's ridiculous and consistently happens. The smoothies are good, but inconsistently made which maybe is to be expected so not a huge issue except when they leave an entire ingredient out. The last time I was there a young girl & friends came in after me and got their smoothies before me (I was later told the owner has a young girl so it's possible that was the case) which is very rude especially since I ordered 1 simple smoothie. So if you want a decent smoothie (nothing spectacular) and don't mind waiting after ordering for half an hour and don't mind rude help then this is the place for you (hopefully you don't get the rude man that works there!) read more

I just purchased an Acai Smoothie Bowl from the Kiwi Cafe this morning. Unlike in the past, this turned out to be a bowl of soup with fruit floating in it instead. It did not even have the consistency of a smoothie drink. Surely the guy making it knew this when he packaged my to go order, so I am very disappointed because this should not have happened. On my way to work with no time to return for a refund. Please check your to go orders before you leave the restaurant. read more

I was very excited about this place - the area needed healthy food establishment. It was my first time visiting, and I ordered detox - typical green juice, their recipe is a little skimpy, but I enjoyed my drink regardless. I also ordered vegetable caprese panini. That was a huge disappointment. Very dry, lacked flavor, and looked like one of my sandwiches I make when grocery shopping is needed. One smallish piece of mozzarella (they cut sandwich in half and it was only in one half, not both...), literally 6 leaves of spinach.... Not good. Very disappointed. read more
