I've used Kiwi glass on two occasions and have had excellent experiences both times. The first time I contacted Kiwi they replaced a cracked bathroom window. The work was done well and on time. I contacted them again last week when the window on my front door was broken by a guest. I needed it replaced the same day, as I had more guests arriving that afternoon. They came to my house to measure some windows and give me a quote. They called me a couple days later and told me they were booked 6 months out, that they couldn't do the job and that it was too far away. It wasn't too far to come look at the job? They came out and wasted my time to measure and give me a quote and now they don't want to do the job. I'm guessing it's because it's a small job and wasn't worth their trouble. The quote was for 1 large window, 3 small windows and an extra large piece of 1/4" tempered glass. Not good customer service... not a way to obtain good customers and build your business. I would not recommend this company. read more

Really poor customer service when trying to get a bid for windows. Used their website email and Yelp estimate request to ask them to come out and provided my availability because we were going to be going out of town and wanted to schedule a time for them to come in before that. First email response was from "Traci Calder, President" saying "I am the bookkeeper" and that "Anna and Craig do scheduling and pricing" (...so, why are you answering emails if you can't actually respond to requests for bids? And why is the President of the company clueless about this while simultaneously referring to herself as 'the bookkeeper'?). Second email added "it won't be this week" (so you do or don't know availability?). Third email was "you are more than welcome to call the shop". (WTF? Why are you answering emails from a Yelp scheduling email in the first place if you're just going to tell people to call, and you're clearly not willing to find out availability for the prospective customer?). Finally I get an email from Anna, the office assistant, saying she got my inquiry from "Traci in Accounting" (OK is Tracy the President or not?) and then asks if 10:30 will work for Monday. I say yes, give her my info, and think we're good to go as she said she'd call me if the time didn't work. Monday 10:30 rolls around and as I work from home, I am sitting there and no one shows up. At 10:45 it's clear they've got no interest in showing up on time or calling/emailing me to let me know he's running late, so I leave to go run an errand, as I have a business to run and 15 minutes is plenty of time to wait. Later that day I notice a voicemail had come in early in the morning that was cut off and had no caller ID on it, and wondered if it might have been Anna attempting to contact me to reschedule. So I emailed her to see if that was her and let her know that we had availability Tuesday morning at 9am. She responded saying that was him trying to call me earlier in the morning and that she'd get back to me about my proposed time. No response. Wednesday she has the nerve to email - with no apology for not getting back to me and no one showing up at the original time - and ask if Craig can come over on Thursday morning. We are headed out on vacation so that was not going to work, and because of the way they'd handled the no-show and then not getting back to us the second time, we'd be taking our business elsewhere. Then Anna says that "when Craig arrived no one was there" which was untrue because I was there at 10:30am waiting. Clearly if he came, he was incredibly late and after I left the house, but strangely, if you come to someone's property and they're not answering the door (especially out in the country where we are), wouldn't you pick up your phone and call the customer to see where they are? Or leave your business card or a note saying you were there? Or have your office follow up? None of that happened and so clearly it wasn't that big of a deal to the folks at Kiwi to have our business (which was ultimately going to be for 20 windows if the first 5 were done well). The combination of their being completely disorganized, having poor communication and zero accountability - well for us that equals not a company that cares about customer service, and therefore not one we care to do business with. read more

Really incompetent. I ordered a sliding glass door. The order came in and I went and paid for it and loaded it on my glass carrier. As I was leaving the clerk demanded another $400 for it. She took the door back. I demanded a refund . She said it would be credited back to me. I had to follow up 3 or 4 times to finally get my refund. The owner threatened me with the police if I contacted her again. Customer service from hell and price gougers. read more

Purchased Milgard slider and screen, from Kiwi Glass and had it installed. Screen was missing 1 of 4 adjustment screws, for roller. Called Kiwi Glass to request screw. 4 days later they called and said they would need my purchase order number. I asked if they couldn't look it up by my name. They said "yes" and they would get back to me. Another week passes and they called and left message to call them. I called back and they said they were busy and would get right back to me. 5 days later I called again and was told they contacted Milgard and that Milgard accepted their "request for service" and they should hear back in 1-2 weeks. Interestingly, I called Milgard myself 4 days earlier and they shipped it same day. Love My Milgard slider, but would never do business again, with Kiwi Glass. Can you imagine the service you would get if the slider was the wrong size or was missing the screen? read more

In April my wife and I met with the Kiwi Glass representative at our house to get an estimate for replacing one window. We were given a verbal quote and told that a bid would be sent to my email address. Weeks went by without any email, or a phone call. I called Kiwi's office and they could not find our paperwork, they would have to call the salesperson to get the information. At the end of May a bid was sent to my email, but it was more then the verbal quote. I called the office and asked why? They could not explain it so they had the salesperson return my phone call and he told us that that was the price. We agreed to the new price and sent in the 50% required to order the glass. The quote stated that they would call once everything had arrived. Weeks and weeks went by without an email or phone call. I finally called and was told that they did not have the correct spelling for my name, an email address or the street name correct. We had given the salesperson that information, and had received an email from them. They had also sent the salesperson out to the correct address. We set up a time to meet the installer. On the day of service I had to call after no one had arrived at the scheduled time after half an hour. I was told that someone would be there in half an hour. I believe that the work is probably OK, but this company lacks communication skills with their customers, and within their organization. read more
