This Food Lion although not new is kept so well you'd think it was. It has high ceilings that remind you of warehouse stores. There is a self service hot bar, hot options behind the deli counter, fresh sushi, customize your own pack beer, large wine selections, wide aisles. I did not see a freshly cut fish selection, and the self checkout line backs up easily, so for these cannot give top marks. Otherwise excellent grocery option.

It is similarly large to the FL at Pamplico if you're familiar with that location. The produce section is larger than most older stores and has diverse options of rare fruit compared to larger cities. A few things I noticed on first walk through were the aisles are spaced wider than most stores, no more trying to shimmy around other trolleys. In the personal hygiene aisle the shelves are lit with LED on every shelf it is unusual and was sort of messing with my vision but I guess it is to help read better for older folks. All the frozen or just cold items are behind glass doors for freshness, and the all the ice creams are on display near the register so as to entice before checkout, smart idea. There were green and red lights on the outside of each stall to let you know which stalls were available and which were occupied. The lines moved very quickly. That alone makes it worth the stop when you're traveling with kids. Now, for my grandson, this place was like walking into a wonderland. His eyes lit up the second we walked in. Between the rows of snacks, the huge drink stations, and all the fun Buc-ee's merchandise, he didn't know where to look first. He was especially fascinated with the Toy section there were so many to chose from. It was a Saturday so this place was very busy. I heard Al Roker from the Today show praise the brisket sandwiches.
