Read on here that Burt was a local fishing guide and he took my son and I out for a full day of fun on very short notice. Burt is a legend in fishing circles and really knows his stuff. He also helped us to coordinate a kayak trip on the Klamath for the whole family. And he really went out of his way to pick me up in Orick when our vehicle was hit by another driver and return me safely back to the RV. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay with Burt and his wife.

Our canoe guides Colby and Julian were super! We selected the two hour morning tour so we could explore the Redwood forest in the afternoon just 5 minutes South on the 101 and make it 30 minutes North to Crescent City by sunset. During the tour we learned a lot, laughed a lot and saw many amazing animals and plants from the Redwood canoe. The boat itself was easy to walk into from the shore without getting wet and sit comfortably-- Fellow tour goers with us were ages 30-75. We all were provided life jackets and a safety talk before embarking. Thank you Colby and Julian for sharing and showing us your beloved home!

My family and I have been camping for forever now, and this has to be one of our favorite…read morecampsites! We stayed for three nights. The location is superb, so close to Trees of Mystery, the Klamath Tour Thru Tree, and just a short drive away from Crescent City. The bathrooms and showers were SO clean and not horrendously outdated like some camp sites. They also had amazingly hot water, which was an extremely pleasant surprise as we were unprepared for how chilly it would be up here. We stayed at camp site A13, right next to the bathroom, with an amazing view and no smell issues. There was plenty of room for our two cars and three tents (one large and two small ones). We didn't really check out the other amenities, but it looked like they had a field where you could play sports and they had free equipment rentals in the shop. Their store is another stand out feature! Some places charge a premium, knowing that their guests have no choice but to pay, yet they had reasonable prices for all of their items. They also pretty much had everything you could ask for in there. We bought their tree and bear mini lego set for $16 and saw it the next day at a different store for $21! Minus one star because their dryer didn't work too well, so we ended up with super damp clothes despite trying to dry it three times :(

I truly cannot say anything negative about this place as it really made our Redwoods trip much more memorable with how cozy the Requa Inn is. I was sad to leave. We were looking for a place to stay during our trip to the Redwood National Park and had planned to drive all along the coast, so needed a base for a few days. We found The Historic Requa Inn in Klamath, which seemed to be a good location as it was central to everywhere we wanted to go, which was key. But I didn't expect it to be as outstanding as it was. We arrived to the hotel before the concierge left, just in time, too, as the hotel doors lock at 8pm. We had no idea until we arrived and were told this helpful information, along with everything else. Since we got into town late, we didn't realize that everything in town was closed for dinner. The kind staff saw us trying to find a place to grab dinner, so he offered us his sandwich. Way too kind of him! Of course we politely declined and ended up eating snacks on our first night, but that just shows you how kind the staff are here. We had breakfast here the following morning, which was delicious. Even locals come here to this hotel restaurant for breakfast, so it's not just guests. The food is very tasty, hearty and is freshly made. I never ate anything here that I wouldn't get again. It was a great way to start our long day of hiking and adventures. Because the hotel was built in 1914, it's historic and charming. All of the hotel rooms are uniquely decorated, so no room is the same. It had antique furniture and decore. The lobby area and bedrooms do not have a TV, encouraging guests to enjoy the simple and classic, as they have puzzles, board games, and books in the lobby area for guests to use. I loved that. I especially loved reading out on the deck, looking out to the river and road. They also offer free coffee, tea and hot cocoa for guests and put out in the middle of the day port that you can pour yourself a glass of and freshly baked cookies. PLUS, since we visited during the Independence Day holiday weekend, the hotel offered guests a complimentary BBQ meal on July 4th! And it was not just standard burgers and hot dogs, they made grilled chicken with different salads, sides and fresh fruit. It was a great way to connect with other hotel guests over this shared, celebratory meal. Our bedroom was very comfortable. It had everything we needed, with wifi, a fan, night light in the bathroom, handmade soaps, a complimentary bottle of wine, tons of blankets, etc. Even though the room didn't have AC, we had no trouble cooling down with the fan and open windows that had fresh air coming through. I also loved that the hotel was in the town of Klamath, with no traffic noise or city lights, so the nights were quiet and peaceful. We really did not want to leave this wonderful hotel. So glad I was able to stay here and learn about the area. I would happily stay here again.

It's very romantic. The people who run it are so kind and helpful. Tge beds are so comfortable, we were plotting hw to get the bed out the window and tie it to my car lol. You also need to have at least one of your meals at the restaurant. Amazing food and wine. Requa is a special place in the heart of Yurok Territory. I'm not doing it justice but I can't say enough on how enjoyable our stay was!

Owned by the Yurok Tribe in Yurok Country along the Klamath River. RV campground and tent camping…read more We were a group of twenty, mostly tent camping. Clean bathroom and shower facilities. We camped eight days. Only one night were we attacked by mosquitoes. Then we all retreated into our respective tents or RV. Initially we had mixed feelings about staying here as we've always stayed next door at Chinook RV. However as the week progressed, we began to enjoy the other campers and the campground. A few nights it was clear enough to enjoy the stars above. My one major dislike - the bugs. Daily no see um's, and the tenacious ants scaling my tent. And the occasional mosquito.

This place is beautiful, from the lush trails with abundant ferns to the redwoods and alders…read moreringing the campgrounds to the glorious panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. We planned to hike in 4.5 miles with our kids and make it a real backpacking trip but we ended up parking at the 0.25 mile lot and hiking uphill to the camp site. There are eight camp sites that generally could fit one or two tents easily. Fire rings and picnic benches are at each site but there is no running water. We had to hike in water which is heavy. The camp sites require a free backcountry permit in advance. There are no charges to camp or park. Camp site #1 is pretty and large but has a pit compost toilet (enclosed, not too smelly). We loved camp site #2. It's large, closest to the bluff (you can hear the waves at night!) and quite flat. The rest of the sites are more tucked away and a little more private. The farthest site is less than a half mile from the parking lot. The one down side -- besides no water source -- is that there is a lot of stinging nettle in some of the sites and along the trails. And some pesky scrub jays. But they weren't too insistent as long as we kept our food in the bear locker. The bear lockers at each site are large (4' x3' x3'). There was a sign posted at the trailhead that said a black bear had been seen recently here. As far as we could tell, there aren't any site specific reservations. It appears to be first-come, first-served. We went on a Thur & Fri and only saw a few other people. It's a really quiet campground and the sites are separated by a lot of space and generally not visible from other sites.
