Thank you for your respect, Dr. Energy Saver! Previous 2-star Review: Unfortunately, this has been a very difficult experience for me to address standing water & drainage in my crawl space. I agreed to work with Dr. Energy Saver back in October, hoping to have the work done before the rains started. However, the work was just completed on December 31. The communication of the team was absolutely horrible - with each of the team members understanding that my project was at different points. I was told it was done multiple times - with the piping above-ground, and an alarm that was supposed to be installed still in the box. Brandon and his team finally got it figured out and did a great job communicating, but there was still confusion between the manager, Sean, and the office staff, who even threatened via phone to put a lean on my home, even though I had been calling and emailing them about the poor work and needing to get the installation completed. Grateful to Brandon for his work, and his respectfully addressing my concerns and caring about me as a customer. I would highly recommend him and his crew. However, the rest of the team really needs to get their communication and customer service addressed - it's very draining (pun intended) to have to manage and check the work you're paying someone else to complete.

The communication of their customer service team is friendly and helpful, and they were good about reminding us of upcoming work. Both projects required an electrician, who they contracted with and took care of. Their follow-up has been excellent. And most important, the heating system works as designed. I had him come back a few weeks later for weatherization and insulation work. He worked all day getting a ton of things done. He sealed every air leak in our attic, installed baffles for air flow, insulated our vent ducting, re-routed and insulated bathroom ducting, found a couple things that weren't up to code which he fixed, and then blew in more insulation. The whole experience of working with Zach and Premium Efficiency was superb. Communication was quick and professional. Emails and phone calls were returned promptly. I was using an EWEB incentive program and Zach was great with the process; he knew exactly what they needed and was well versed in the process. It is clear that Zach is passionate about energy efficiency and takes great pride in his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants quality work from a solid local company.

A guy from Deschutes came out within days to check it out. He saw no damage to the vent area, but suggested a minor fix that would prevent potential problems in the future. At no cost to me! Luckily it turned out that the cause of my leak wasn't a leaking roof but actually caused by a build up of leaves and tree debris causing water to be backlogged and forced up under my shingles. They informed me of this and saved me from having to do anything besides jumping on my roof and clearing it all away. After a few hours of clearing everything, it was good as new and now I know not to allow this debris to sit on my roof during rainy season. I had several roofers come to give estimates on repairing my sunporch roof leaks. Not one of those businesses would even give an estimate, saying 't couldn't help us. This went on for over a year as the leaks got worse and worse. Found Klaus in the phone book, and they had an estimate for me in 3 days. They did have to delay the repair date as it rained heavily for 2 solid weeks before and after that date. The repair is now completed (took 2 days to put on the new sun porch roof) and since then we have had light rain, deluges, snow, and ice. Not a single drip anywhere compared to catching the leaks with buckets and bailing daily! I highly recommend them! read more

I drove past a house Cameron's crew was working on down on Pacific Terrace about 10 times over the last few days--had to pull over my Hummer, get out, and introduce myself. He runs a great crew. His crew works steady, they were wearing their safety harnesses every single time, and they even managed to park perfectly on a difficult street without blocking anyone. Cameron doesn't cut corners. He's doing things the right way--using real CDX plywood instead of cheap OSB, laying down proper metal valley flashing, and using high-quality Rhino underlayment. He has a fantastic foreman running that crew. If you want a roof built to last by a crew with real-world integrity, this is the company to hire in my opinion. I have no affiliation--except observation and builder of other fine homes. The home he was working on is for sale, and I doubt if the new owner even realizes how great his roof is going to be, and not only that he picked probably the best color match of the fine stone architecture of the house...

I actually mentioned it to their carpenter before he left. That outcome seems unlikely now for the reasons that follow. -Once I posted my review I got a call asking how I could be more satisfied. I realize I am not their only client, and don't consider my job to be any more important than anyone else's. This said, I appreciate the effort. -I did get a refund for them for... something. Not sure what it was for. (See my last "Con" item. Cons: ========================== -We were told that they would charge half the bid in deposit, then they charged the whole thing. In fairness they reversed this charge. -My only sincere complaint is the opacity of their billing. Don't get me wrong. they gave me a VERY detailed estimate and - as I mentioned in the first part of my review - they sent me a partial refund of the initial charge. Gosh this is going to sound like I am complaining just to complain, but hear me out. The real issue is I have not yet received a detailed explanation of exactly what I was charged for. When I spoke to the company I was told that prep work went longer than expected, and was told I would get a detailed invoice. Look, I am not going to quibble over the price. I am not looking for a refund I am not due. The fact is I signed the contract, but I want to know where the money went. That is all. They did great work, and I now more than trust them. Conclusion: ==================== First impressions matter fair or not. The final assessment is, though I would work with them again, I just want to a receipt. Their bids are detailed enough that this should be doable.
