What to say... Our original cleaner was a sweetheart, but it was so clear that the company didn't treat her the way she deserved to be treated, and when she disappeared, we weren't surprised. She wasn't our first cleaner to vanish. We'd had two in the span of 2 months. Can you imagine? What happened next....please, if you're even hesitant to take this review for what it is -- a total call for caution -- go out and read a few of my other reviews. You will find that I'm not only thorough in my detail, but I'm also fair. I try to balance my reviews. If there's something good, even in a mostly bad situation, it's my job to share it with you. However, if a situation is just all bad, and the company I'm working with has so very little to share as far as redeeming qualities, I'm going to say that without pulling my punches, and that is very much the situation I had with Kleen Guru after our beloved cleaner exited. What happened next was, because they didn't have anyone else to come clean our place, the management from Dallas had to make the three and a half hour trip to Austin. We had no idea all of this was going on, and would have told them just to stay home, had we known, but... instead.. the two of them showed up on our doorstep. They were nice enough, but you could tell as you were describing what services you'd had in the past -- and what your cleaner had CLEARLY explained was part of what you were paying for -- that they just weren't going to do what they were paid for. Immediately, I was told that instead of getting the 4 hours I paid for, I'd only be getting 3. Half a dozen times we went round and around about how I'd purchased their Austin special (which was 4 hours for the price of 3) and how I'd already entered into that agreement with my past cleaner. "Oh, no no!" was all I was told, and that was just supposed to be that. I was very WTF, but that wasn't even the half of it. Services that came with the cleaning we'd paid for like wiping down the front of the cabinets (was supposed to come with the 4 hour clean), doing fan blades, cleaning the inside of the microwave, everything was waved off! They weren't going to do any of it. Or, rather, it all became ala carte again! I could pay them more, like they were extortionists, but I had no options as far as the service I'd originally agreed to. And, maybe all of that wouldn't have been so deeply objectionable, had they not done a terrible job cleaning (UGH -- everything was still dirty, they basically just wiped dirt around, none of the counters were cleaned, the floors actually had their SHOE PRINTS on them, and I didn't even ask them to clean any of the bedrooms, or even vacuum, and they couldn't get it right!!). Honestly, though, none of it was worse than them actually _breaking_ (I have no idea how they did it, but.. it wasn't an issue before they came, and it was certainly one after they left, so) the front plastic/glass window piece of our microwave. We have the GE Slate Series appliances in our kitchen. They're about a year and a half old. This has never been a problem, but there was wadded up paper towel (as if it was jammed into the "break") stuck in the fissure. You could see where it had been broken, and the house cleaner had actually wedged the paper towel -in- it! I didn't notice the break until after they'd gone, so when I contacted the people who were here, I was told that they'd be back the next day and that they'd not only cover the damage, but that they'd also re-clean, and leave us satisfied. At that point, I had my doubts, and honestly, I should have trusted my instincts. I told them my concerns going forward, and said that if they didn't make good, we'd be cancelling our service. All of a sudden they were cancelling us, told us they _wouldn't_ be coming back (not to fix the damage, and certainly not to satisfy their guarantees of customer satisfaction), and basically... good day! I was in shock. I wrote the company and told them that they'd agreed to come fix what they'd broken, and not only that, but that when we started service with them -- REGARDLESS of whether we stayed on their service -- that they'd guaranteed we'd be happy with what we paid for! They've ignored every attempt I've made to get in touch with them since, INCLUDING, but not limited to the communications I've sent them to STOP CHARGING OUR CREDIT CARD FOR SERVICE THEY ARE NO LONGER PROVIDING! That's right... they're still charging us. And no one shows up. Can you effn' imagine? Listen to me, if you don't take my word for any other company, take it for this one. Run fast. Run far. They aren't worth a nickel, but they'll take a hundred plus, and their work'll be mediocre at best. Beyond that, they can't even be trusted to back their word, or to secure their work. Find another cleaner, and avoid the same headache! read more

Go with your instinct on this one. The two people that rated this service well must work for the company. The lady was 20 minutes late and said she "probably wouldn't have time" to clean the baseboards which were included in the special I purchased. DO NOT give into any "specials or offers" - they will tell you they don't have the time to do them. I guess she didn't have enough time because she decided to go out for smoke breaks. I am cringing as this lady cleans my home. Softly goes over services without any effort at all. Constantly reminding her of areas that have not been touched. EXTREME waste of $$$. You're better off finding a maid on Craig's List! This is by far the most awful cleaning service I have ever encountered. I will be spending more time cleaning the mess left behind than what this person was sent here to do. Oh, and anytime you need to speak with someone at this company, you have to leave a voice message. Do you get a call back? NOPE! Not sure how this "company" even exists! I had my doubts after seeing some of these reviews on here but my experience was good with them so far. Made my first appointment with them but it got changed at the last minute due to a problem with the maid not being able to make it so I was freaking out thinking I was going to have the same issues as some of these other folks about not being able to get the service after already paying for it. But they came through, answered the phone when I called about the rescheduling issue, reassuring me that all would be as promised. Sure enough, they arrived at the rescheduled time promptly and did the cleaning. It was a new employee but the supervisor came along to make sure everything was as it should be which was nice. I could tell she was new to this line of work and she missed a few things but had no issues going back and fixing them when I pointed them out to her. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and we've scheduled another cleaning with them. Hopefully things will continue working out with them ... read more

Bought a Groupon several weeks ago. Set up an appointment on their confusing scheduling website that asked me to buy the Groupon all over again, and then they didn't show up. I sent them an email and they wrote back that they didn't have my city. I used their fricken schedule program that had all that information. They don't have phones? Then I tried to reschedule and left 4 messages. Complained twice to Groupon and then they sent me an email saying they can't get to me for another 3 weeks. I asked for my money back. As for their ability to clean... Who knows. They have to show up first! read more

A few months ago two people cleaned our house from KleenGuru. One was a black girl named MaLinda, and the other a hispanic lady whose name I did not catch. They took a long time and still weren't finished when our pre-paid 4 hours was up. According to MaLinda the hispanic lady was the Trainee. Appparently what this means is that she does most of the cleaning. MaLinda mostly listened to music and talked to someone on her cell phone earpiece. The hispanic lady was better at cleaning than MaLinda and actually went around after her and cleaned what she had missed. When they were done I felt gyped that I had paid so much for such a small amount of cleaning. Plus I suspect someone took a collectible from a shelf. No proof but nobody else was in my house that week. read more

Very bad experience. They cancelled 1 hour before the appointment. Never showed up for the appointment. When I called the owner Antonio, he was very rude and unprofessional. Please dont buy their Groupon. They are just using that as a marketing tool but at last minute cancels the appointment or just don't show up. read more

Poor service. Our house cleaner did a very minimal job. I'm by no means picky or a neat freak, but I noticed that she missed several obvious areas (i.e. Around & behind furniture, fixtures on the kitchen and bathroom faucets, shelves, etc.) I also paid for 3 hours of cleaning but she left 20 minutes early. I used a Living Social coupon to schedule this cleaning of my home. I was a little leery of doing so because it was a great discount and I wasn't sure if I would really get the full three hours as advertised. What a pleasant surprise! The technician that was sent to do the job arrived on time. I showed her around the house and she immediately set about getting the job done. Everything was done as requested and done well. A couple of weeks later we called Kleen Guru again to do a "make ready" on one of our rental units. Again, the technician arrived on time and did exactly as we had requested for a very reasonable price. We intend to continue using Kleen Guru for cleaning needs both for our personal home and our rental properties. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I do not regularly hire a cleaning service for my place. This was on a lark and I found a coupon. I was hesitant to say the least after reading the other reviews, however had a very good experience with Nicole. She arrived on time, worked for 3 hours straight, and did a great job. I know that there aren't very good reviews on this place but I had a great experience! I had a guy named Antonio I believe and he did a really good job! If you want extra things cleaned they are at an additional cost but I just got the basics and I'm really happy with it. He was super nice and professional as well! I had a FRUSTRATING experience with the Owner and the Manager from The KLEEN GURU Cleaning Company in Plano, TX and didn't even get the service (that I paid for and scheduled)...and also no call back as was promised several times to make things right! I took notes (and still have a screenshot of them) on the original phone call (prior to buying a Groupon) to ask specific questions about what I needed. Got the person's name that answered the phone (Sounded like "Connie" to me), and she told me to buy the groupon and set up an appointment on their scheduling website (which "redeemed" the groupon). So that's what I did, and left the notes from our convo in the "notes section" when scheduling the appointment. Then someone responded back to the scheduled appointment saying it had been canceled. I was like "what the heck?" So I responded back explaining what the person had told me on the phone prior, and they just wrote back saying "sorry, can't do it", didn't offer a refund or anything or a different type of cleaning. So I called the office back the next day, and a man answered the phone. I proceeded to tell him what happened and he said we don't have a "Connie" here, so I verified the number and explained more, and that I had taken notes to prove the answers I'd received, and then he finally told me it must have been his manager "Tonny" that answered the phone, and that he was the Owner. We then went back and forth, with me telling him how unhappy I was, and he just acted like he didn't care at all about customer service and that his manager would never say those things, so basically I was a Liar. He said that he was covering for her that day and that he would talk to her when she returned the next day and that he would honor what she had originally told me. And that he or she would call me back the next day. Well the next day came and no phone call, so the following day I called back and left a message 3 different times of the day, because I sure they had caller ID and didn't want to answer my phone calls!, and still no call back. So I was assuming they were still coming to clean on the Monday that I had originally scheduled for (since he said in our last conversation that he would honor it) and then they didn't show up. And I had no time to find anyone else to do it. They left me High and Dry, and still haven't returned my phone calls. So then I had to waste more time to call Groupon back and try to get a refund for a Service that was showing "redeemed". Such a NIGHTMARE to deal with, and some of the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've ever had!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS COMPANY! I'm sure there are plenty more in the area that are so much better! And I've noticed as I was looking for a place to put up this review, that they seem to have all NEGATIVE REVIEWS!! I wish I would have looked those up prior to contacting them! :-/ read more

Paid for a whole house cleaning. Half of the downstairs was cleaned, none of the second floor. Additionally, none of the floors on either level was cleaned. The housekeeper spent 1.5 hours cleaning 1 shower and wiping down 2 counter tops. Because she was very slow and took so long on this she stated that she had to leave for another appointment and that she would come back to finish the cleaning. We had to leave to go to my son's graduation and walked the house with her upon her return to go over what needed to be finished. We then paid her and left. When we returned we discovered that she had not done anything additional to the original trip. When I contacted her she told me "you got what you paid for". I paid for my entire house to be cleaned, not 1/4 of it! I also spent extra for the blinds, fans and baseboards to be cleaned, only half of those items were cleaned.
