I highly recommend Klein's Appliances and lived in the Belleville-Fairview Heights area for over 30 years, and during that time I've outfitted3 homes with frig, stove, washer dryer and microwaves. The only appliance problems I've experienced were when I bought from the big box stores - no repair service and problems with warranties. When I purchased appliances for my last home around 2021, I actually took the ads from the big box stores to Klein's. They matched the prices as closely as they could. What I discovered afterward was even better--their warranty program was both cheaper and better than what the big box stores offered. They also provide knowledgeable in-store assistance and service support, which is something you don't get at large chain retailers. read more

They quoted me a repair job on a built in Subzero Fridge that was an old model. Dave (the service guy) told me that if I invest $2k into this fridge it we be like new. So we did. We are fighting back & forth because it's still not fixed months after I inv the money into it. I stopped in to buy a replacement dishwasher because the kitchenaide I had bought 2 years ago had broken... or so I thought. The gentleman that was assisting me caught on and said he thought maybe it was a little excessive to be buying a new one. I went to the service counter and Greg walked me through what he thought was my problem and told me exactly how to fix it. If I was going to keep the dishwasher I needed a wheel assembly for the upper rack. Guess what!!!! they had that too. I went home and did what they suggested and low and behold, no issue. Above and beyond! That sums up my Klein's experience and working with Derek in the sales department. When our washing machine broke down and I was told parts were on back order for weeks, but more likely months, I panicked! Due to COVID not only are parts delayed, but finding a new washing machine is nearly impossible! Luckily I found Klein's and Derek. We spoke entirely by phone. He listened to my problem, made a recommendation for a new machine and guided me through my back and forth process while I deliberated what to do. When I finally ordered a new machine it couldn't be delivered immediately, but Derek said he'd keep me posted. Meanwhile the parts to my broken machine arrived! Not only did Derek agree to refund my purchase, but he offered to hold it to make sure my machine actually got fixed so I wouldn't be left in a bind!! Now that's above and beyond! We purchased all new kitchen appliances (oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher) and new washer and dryer from Klein's 5 years ago. Less than 1 month after the purchase we were notified from Whirlpool that the refrigerator was on recall. I called Klein and they informed me that the refrigerator would be replaced but a couple of days later a service man showed up with "the fix" for the recall notice. After that the refrigerator began making a lot of noise. After several more visits because of the noise I was finally told that today's units make noise. At least I think that is what he said, it was difficult to hear. I replaced the refrigerator after just 3 years. Recently the clothes dryer showed an error message that indicated the heating coil was bad. Another call to Klein's resulted in a $200 bill to replace the coil, but resulted in the loudest vibration noise that you can imagine. After replacing the rollers, the motor and the belt and lever with no success I finally replaced the dryer. So if you expect any sort of service from a local retailer you will be greatly disappointed. I really miss Lloyd's Appliances. read more

I then went to the customer pick up area, the nice gentleman asked me to take a look at it, he then loaded it into my car. I was in and out of there in 10 minutes! Talk about customer service! I am going to start and end with the fact that the owner Doug Klein just cussed me out on thephone. I have been a loyal customer of Kliens for over 10 years, through multiple homes. I have purchased 2 Washer Dry Sets, 2 Refridgerators, a Viking Range and now an entire Kitchen full of products including a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher that has had problems since we got it. They have been out 3 times and this last time they did something to the door that cuases water to leak when running. In trying to set up a Sat service call they would not allow it without owners permission. When I talked to the owner he would not listen to my request and an finally started cursing at me. I was in such disbeleif that I actually asked when he just called me. He repeated it again and I hung up. I will NEVER recommend, call, or spend another penny there. I have never been treated like that by anyone, let alone a business owner. read more

Worst Appliance store we've been to. We knew someone who worked here and she worked on commission and we like her so we decided to give them a try. The staff was friendly and seemed pretty knowledgeable. However, we bought a clothes washer and dryer, a stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher for our new home. After about 3 mos of use, the stove's glass top started to get pits in it. The dryer stopped drying clothes thoroughly after about 10 mos. And after about 6 mos the dishwasher got really loud (it sells itself with pride for being the quietest dishwasher on the market; we pd about $150 more for it than the other one we wanted). They repaired the dishwasher saying the manufacturer recalled that particular motor (we didn't get recall notice). They fixed it no charge (warranty). I asked if they were sure that was the problem since the dishwasher would soon be out of warranty. He said that was the only thing he could find wrong with it. A few months after warranty it started getting loud again. Then this week as we were eating and washing dishes, I heard the cringing sound of water hitting the floor. Our kitchen floor was soaked and our quarter-round trim was ruined on our floor. I called them up and of course it's outside of warranty so it's 100% out of pocket for us. They want about $50 just to drive over here, about $100 for the motor (they don't know if that's going to fix the problem) and then about $100 for labor ... that's just $50 less than buying a whole new unit. This dish washer is 17 mos old ... it didn't even last two years. I feel that no matter whatever they tell you - we didn't actually see much support from Gil Klein. I would not recommend. I have told my real-estate friends and my friend who is buying a house who I had previously recommended to go to Gil Klein. Go to Lowe's or another place. Buy the extra warranty if you get Kenmore. read more

Worst customer service in the industry. We just moved to the area and this is the company our landlord went with so we had no say in the matter. We moved in to our rental and the gas oven was setting off the fire alarm every time we tried to use it- building up clear smoke before it was preheated. Klein's called us on a Monday and the soonest they had was Saturday. I was told I would receive a call between 8-9 and it would be about a 2 hour window that morning. I explained that we have been traveling with the military for a year and really need the oven working as soon as possible. She was sympathetic and said she would put a note on our file to get us done first thing and would call if there was a cancellation. Saturday morning comes around and I get a call saying they can come between 12 and 2. We have appointments during the afternoon and they were absolutely unwilling to work with me on the time. The owner got on the line and argued with me that "this is an industry standard procedure" and "no his customer service team did not miscommunicate how their procedures work" and even "I listen to every phone call so I know how they word things and they did not miscommunicate this to you." The owner instead of trying to make the situation right and just apologize for the miscommunication decided to be belligerent with me and insult me rather than listen to what I was telling him about how they explain their procedures to their customers. We will not personally do business with them if we decide to own a home here. read more

When we had a couple of concerns about the fridge they scheduled a free service call and the guy that showed up was clean cut and very helpful.
