All my calls were either..we don't have a field vet or since I wasn't a customer they couldn't help me....or their field vet was on vacation. However Pleasant Hill Animal clinic...knowing I was not a current customer..contacted their field vet..( on a holiday weekend) and told me it was iffy..but if possible he would try to fit me into the already busy day. This pet Donkey was dying. It was so sad..then a call came in that the vet could fit the visit. He saved her life. Dr. Kent has been knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely committed to managing our bulldog's ongoing health condition. Unfortunately, the clinic's policies and customer service have made it increasingly difficult to continue care there. Their prescription policy recently changed, and they now charge a $10 fee for every prescription filled through any mail‑order or online pharmacy. Because our bulldog refuses the chewable version they carry in‑office, we've had no choice but to use outside pharmacies and pay this fee each time. When we expressed our concerns about the added cost, we were unexpectedly placed on a "no longer serviceable" list. The front desk informed us they could no longer speak with us, and as a result, we are unable to get our bulldog's prescriptions filled or transferred -- leaving him without his life‑sustaining medication. Communication with the front desk has been an ongoing issue. Phone calls often go unanswered, we are frequently placed on hold for long periods, and when we request a callback, it rarely happens. This is not the first time we've had problems with the administrative staff. Previously, they insisted on obtaining a social security number before allowing an appointment, and when we questioned that requirement, the office manager responded rudely. While we understand that policies are policies, the way concerns are handled matters. Overall, the customer service we've experienced has been consistently disappointing, despite the quality of care Dr. Kent provides.

Today, I had the sad task of bringing Mom's dog in to be put to sleep. This was a difficult decision for the family, but the right decision. The veterinary tech that helped me process the paperwork and prepped Poppins was outstanding. She held this little dog with so much love and care during the entire procedure. Thank you for being so remarkably kind. (I didn't hold Poppins myself because sometimes the dog has mixed feelings about me. She is definitely mom's dog.) The vet was also incredibly kind and gentle. He was familiar with our case, and gave Poppins excellent care. Thank you. I am sorry that this sad work is put upon the same good people that give so much to care for everyone's pets.
