    Prime Rib Dinner
    Donna P.

We had the Prime Rib a couple years ago at a charity event. Why it took us this long to go to the actual restaurant, is still a mystery to me. They open at 4:00 and usually sell out of Prime Rib within 2 hours. So we showed up around 4:40 and the place was busy. It gets loud when it's full, but we wow expected that. Luckily there was a table for 4 so we were able to sit down quickly. The waitress showed up quickly and took our drink orders. We told her we didn't need menus, just 4 orders of the prime rib dinner. The orders came with soup (clam chowder) or salad and we all got salad with blue cheese dressing. The bowls were full and the baby cherry tomatoes were sweet. We just had to make sure to pull off the stems before we ate them. As for the main course - Yummm!! Prime Rib was perfectly cooked to a medium rare and full of flavor. The sides were toasted garlic bread, green beans, and a big fluffy baked potato. Butter and sour cream are on the side as are the horseradish and au jus for the meat. I had to take a little home as I was stuffed. Not waiting two years to come back.

Went here for Prime Rib Friday. It's only $19.95 for a huge piece of meat. Tender and great. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, tender flaky on the inside. Salads were flavorful. Clam chowder was good but leaned to flavors of bean with bacon soup. It was good though. Service was a little slow but it was really busy so it was understandable. Prices are good and if you haven't been here you should stop in and try them out.

Thursday, great day to stop by for dinner. Jesse gets to cook freestyle and it's always amazing.

    Prime rib dinner friday nights.

We love this place for its prime rib dinners on Friday nights, don't want to miss it. My wife, our dog and I try to drive up here annually to visit my father and his wife they live in Laclede and introduced us to the prime rib dinner night so we make sure our stay coincides with a Friday just so we can enjoy this tradition. The klondyke cafe looks like a little hole in the wall place off hwy 2, it's much more than that, the people are real nice, although I haven't mentioned I'm from California, that might change if I let them know. Regardless great food great people, you don't want to miss it. The only con I have is they don't have a ramp for the disabled. It's is the first year we've ordered food to go since its real tough for my dad to get in the door. They still deserve the 5 stars Great place can't say enough, wish they opened one near us..

    Best and biggest! Always leftovers!

The BEST prime rib. Always pleasant, attentive servers. One of our favorite local places to treat ourselves to a great dinner.

One of few places to eat in laclede. The help was good. The food was editable. I'd have a burger here again if I'm laclede.

What is the closest dock where we could park for dinner?

You could park at Riley creek if you don't mind a bit of a walk.

The staff is lively and friendly - no surprise - and service is FAST. My espresso was prepped & handed to me before I even clicked on the "Tip Amount" on the card reader -- if on purpose, brilliant, if not, certainly made it an easy decision to tip generously. The baked goods perched in window at the front counter - between croissants, banana bread, tarts, cheesecakes,... - are beautifully crafted and tempt even the LEAST sweet tooth's of us. They have an EXTENSIVE list of crepes (both savory and sweet options) and sandwiches, so if you come for a grind session, you have plenty of (seemingly tasty) food options to choose from. Prices...$2.75 for a double espresso is a deal, especially at a well-staffed / newly(?) renovated / luxury coffee establishment such as this. They really could raise their price two-fold and I'd still be happy (at least coming from Californian like myself). My espresso was served hot but not burned, with low acid beans which contained an obvious LACK of mycotoxins & mold (at least based on my amateur judgement; I am a good judge, though, as I am extremely sensitive with coffee beans). So with that said, if you are sensitive and need high quality coffee beans, do what I do and make Bernklau your morning coffee spot if you are staying or live in the area. A+ all around. Kudos to the owner/manager and kudos to the staff.
