The BEST prime rib. Always pleasant, attentive servers. One of our favorite local places to treat ourselves to a great dinner.

A 5, seriously? Yes. This place certainly lives up to its reputation. Is it fancy? Nope - just comfortable. The service is speedy and friendly, the beer is cold, and the wine is good. Friday night there's a Prime Rib Dinner special and we grabbed a table at 4 to be sure we got in. The servers are pros and ours took our order immediately so she could turn it in as soon as the kitchen opened service for the dinner. Your choice of clam chowder or a small salad (the blue cheese dressing is the bomb), both were good. Huge piece of prime rib with great horseradish sauce, baked potato w/butter & sour cream on the side, green beans, and grilled herby roll. Wow! We'll enjoy the leftover meat for sure but next time we'll probably split a dinner. And there *will* be a next time! read more

We had the Prime Rib a couple years ago at a charity event. Why it took us this long to go to the actual restaurant, is still a mystery to me. They open at 4:00 and usually sell out of Prime Rib within 2 hours. So we showed up around 4:40 and the place was busy. It gets loud when it's full, but we wow expected that. Luckily there was a table for 4 so we were able to sit down quickly. The waitress showed up quickly and took our drink orders. We told her we didn't need menus, just 4 orders of the prime rib dinner. The orders came with soup (clam chowder) or salad and we all got salad with blue cheese dressing. The bowls were full and the baby cherry tomatoes were sweet. We just had to make sure to pull off the stems before we ate them. As for the main course - Yummm!! Prime Rib was perfectly cooked to a medium rare and full of flavor. The sides were toasted garlic bread, green beans, and a big fluffy baked potato. Butter and sour cream are on the side as are the horseradish and au jus for the meat. I had to take a little home as I was stuffed. Not waiting two years to come back. read more

Well I have to say what a let down ,for my second time in a row our prime rib showed up cold ! Had to send back to be warmed up ! While my wife's was a good portion of meat ! Mine once again was 50 % fat I guess that's the luck of the draw ,but when I mentioned it to the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders ,by the way the waitress spent most of their time on there phones instead of waiting on guests, probably won't be going back and that's a shame ,but when you spend top dollars at least I think it should be up to par , at least I got to watch some golf highlights, good baked potato but then for $ 29 I guess I should expect that. 1 star out of 5 . read more

Went here for Prime Rib Friday. It's only $19.95 for a huge piece of meat. Tender and great. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside, tender flaky on the inside. Salads were flavorful. Clam chowder was good but leaned to flavors of bean with bacon soup. It was good though. Service was a little slow but it was really busy so it was understandable. Prices are good and if you haven't been here you should stop in and try them out. read more

This fun place is like a Country Cheers Bar. Bruno the owner knows everyone and I had a feeling as an out of towner I was probably sitting on a Country Norms bar stool My husband had the Bruno Burger and it was huge and he said delicious. I had a BLT that was one of the best I have ever had. I got homemade fries with mine and they had just enough grease to make them delicious. We have been here many times for their Friday night prime rib special. But last night was very disappointing. We didn't mind waiting as it's always worth the wait but when we finally got our food the prime rib had such a huge piece of fat on it, they were out of baked potatoes, the Green beans were so oversalted we couldn't eat them and the dinner roll was burnt black. It was only 630 seemed awfully early to run out of things. hopefully they get it back to the way it used to be. read more

The wife had a 12 oz top sirloin toped with mushrooms for $12.00 yes I said $12.00 and it comes with salad fries toast and a roll. that is unreal!!! We love this place for its prime rib dinners on Friday nights, don't want to miss it. My wife, our dog and I try to drive up here annually to visit my father and his wife they live in Laclede and introduced us to the prime rib dinner night so we make sure our stay coincides with a Friday just so we can enjoy this tradition. The klondyke cafe looks like a little hole in the wall place off hwy 2, it's much more than that, the people are real nice, although I haven't mentioned I'm from California, that might change if I let them know. Regardless great food great people, you don't want to miss it. The only con I have is they don't have a ramp for the disabled. It's is the first year we've ordered food to go since its real tough for my dad to get in the door. They still deserve the 5 stars Great place can't say enough, wish they opened one near us.. read more

Yea, yea, yea...the prime rib IS the best in North Idaho, but like someone else mentioned, it's what the Klondyke means to Laclede that makes it what it is. Walk in at any time of day to get a warm hello from whomever is serving (maybe even Bruno the owner) and a friendly group around the old (literally) horseshoe bar. If you're one of the few to stick around past 8 you might get to roll a few dice and turn the jukebox up loud. There is always someone to chit chat with, a paper to read, or a game to watch. If you are lucky enough to be able to spend more than just a meal stop in Laclede, make sure you go back more than once. If you drive thru on a regular basis on your way to Sandpoint, make a point to stop everytime :) read more

Tried Klondyke for the first time Friday and it is all that previous reviewers have stated. The wait staff greeted us warmly when we entered followed by Bruno, the owner who talked with us for a bit. It was a little after 5 on Friday prime rib night and we were the first to enter. Right after we ordered the place started filling up. I had the charbroiled chicken and my bride had the PR. Excellent on both counts! The PR was huge and more than she could eat. A very enjoyable experience and we will definitely be back. read more

I feel the need to update my review....... it's with a heavy heart I will tell you we came in for lunch this summer and it sucked. We almost left, the place was almost empty and it took forever. The guy that I think is the owner or manager was no where around and the two 20 something's didn't give a shit about us...... that said I will still try to go back for prime rib again. read more

A mandatory stop each time we visit North Idaho to see my sister. the Klondyke is a hidden gem where the food tastes delicious and the hugs are free. It functions as the town center for most of Laclede's population, Bruno serving as both master chef and master of ceremonies at the many events hosted there. Visiting family in Laclede and they ordered food from Klondyke on a Saturday evening. My husband went crazy for the ribs and chicken and I loved the green salad with huckleberry vinaigrette! Such delicious food from an unassuming little place in this beautiful area. My family who lives in the area eat here at least once a week and love the owner and other employees. read more
