We stopped here during a road trip. I placed an order ahead via an app and was surprised when I arrived after the designated time and it wasn't even started. With a hungry family waiting in the car, they had to sit there while all of our food was cooked. Easier said than done with a 2 year old. All of the food was decent, but overpriced for what it was. The hummus comes to mind. You are given a generous portion of hummus but only a single pita. How someone could use all the hummus with a single pita is beyond me. Maybe if you dumped it all over your meal, otherwise AT MOST you could eat 1/4 of it and then decide what to do with the rest. I ordered the gyro which had plenty of fat chunks throughout. A lot of the pieces were inedible because they contained more fat than meat. Being from the Detroit area, I've had my fair share of amazing gyros. This one wouldn't even make the "honorable mention" list. It was enough food to feed us for the night, but I would probably pick another place if given the choice in the same situation. read more

I really, really, really wanted to give this family owned business 5*. I ordered from here to be delivered a couple weeks ago & it was atrocious. I got a chicken swarma wrap & grape leaves. The wrap was dry & the grape leaves were all dried up & the girth of a pencil. I was so disappointed because we need a Middle East restaurant in this area. Today my husband & I stopped for lunch. We got the 2-tabouli, 2-lamb wraps (+ 1 mixed drink $28). This was like ordering from a totally different restaurant. Everything was tasty & fresh. You can smell a light hint of the wood fire stove. The closest I have been to Mediterranean food has been the occasional Greek wedding. But after seeing reviews and pictures on yelp, I decided I had to try it. And I am glad I did. Wifey got Shrimp Kabobs and I the Chicken Shawarma. Both were excellent. The lamb is my next time dish for sure. And then there is the K'nafa... Another first for me. Where has this been all my life?! I really hope they do well here. This is a definite nice addition of some variety to the area's cuisine chooses. The staff here is friendly and warm. I've been here several times and the food is always outstanding. The bowls are very filling, flavorful and have delicious sauces. Their hot sauce is amazing! All the grilled meats taste great because of their wood / charcoal grill. And finally their signature dessert is unique and absolutely delicious. I had a chicken shaurma sandwich. Mleh ... Very Americanized version. They bake their own pita bread, but, for some reason, are using flatbread from a grocery store for shaurma. And not a good one, probably from a Walmart. The main issue with their version was that shaurma is supposed to be baked (grilled)on that shish and not fried on American grill. I actually don't even understand why it's called a grill, it's actually a big frying pan. I can not blame them, they did not invent this way of cooking shaurma in this country. I just don't like it. But the chicken wasn't bad and all other ingredients were fresh and tasty. The employees were responsive and friendly. I'll give them another try next time I'm this area. read more

The on site wood fired oven means that the food is really delicious and it makes a clear difference. All ingredients seem fresh and everything is properly cooked---I had lamb which is so easy to overcook and make gamey but it was perfect. This place is across the street from my work and I LOVE middle eastern food so I was so excited to try it and am very disappointed to have not liked it. I would have probably just contacted the restaurant directly versus writing on here but they don't have a contact option on their website. They have the potential to be great, just not there yet. The service is very slow and I had to order two different times, once when I was rung up and again while it was being made. I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl and asked for lettuce base, they later told me they were out of fresh lettuce. They were also out of cabbage. I had to get a rice base instead and the red rice is just way too much saffron among other things, for me - It's overpowering. Others might like it. They advertised "sumac onions" but they were just raw white onions. The portion of rice and chicken was great but super light with the toppings. I think I had 4 pickle slices on my bowl and my side of garlic sauce was a teaspoon. She was way overly sparing with the harissa sauce on top as well. Also, I just wanted a side of hummus and the only option is the $5.00 appetizer serving. Way more than I wanted or wanted to pay for. The bread is also cold and considering they have a brick oven running I was disappointed. Overall disappointing. I would suggest that the management goes to a Naf Naf Grill. There's one in Independence, and lean more towards their formula. read more

I loved my experience here. Our waitress was so friendly and so helpful. The food was delicious. I got a lamb kebab bowl with all the fixings and it was so good. So fresh. The coffee is also great, but beware it is very strong. My only complaint is we came here for lunch and it wasn't extremely busy but it took quite awhile for our food to come out. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Atmosphere was nice and clean. They had a big brick oven which was awesome because the bread tastes fantastic. I had the chicken kabob rice bowl and it comes with different toppings (pickles, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, etc. But You gotta get the pickles! It's addicting... it's sweet and crunchy. My husband had the falafel and grape leaves and he said it was very good. Everything turned out to be tasty!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone craving mediterranian food. Also, they have a grocery store connected to the restaurant. They have an olive bar, dessert section, meat section, produce isle, and all kinds of other stuff you can't get at a grocery store. read more

I'm a big fan of this place. I got pick up a lot throughout the pandemic and it's consistent every time. I got the lamb and rotisserie combo in the picture but the buttered chicken is my favorite. This place is terrific! The middle eastern cuisine is flavorful and authentic. We had lentel soup, baba ghanooush, kabobs and Jerusalem salad. The food were freshly made and made us very happy. Our friends had the Lebanese fried cheese, which was not breaded and actually tasted grilled. It had a meaty texture and was excellent - albeit very salty. Celebrate the diversity of our valley. We stopped at Knafa Restaurant on a road trip. Although no indoor seating was available due to Covid, there were a couple nice, clean tables out front, where we enjoyed our meal. The chicken shawarma was deliciously seasoned, as was the rice in the bowl and the garlic sauce to drizzle on top. The kefta kebob bowl was also tasty, spiked with tangy pickles. The fresh vegetable salad was a crunchy complement. The food was cooked fresh to order, and the service was polite and accommodating. Super fresh and flavorful; i can't imagine finding better examples of the dishes we tried. The crust on the falafel sandwich was smoky and nicely balanced the chickpea filling.
