Do not go here they are hacks.. They had my truck for 4 days for a snow plow.. the plow wasn't even ready after 4 days had to come back....They drilled my plow mount wrong on my frame and sway bar is rubbing on mount ...the wiring is very poorly routed and drilled hole through fuse box when there is places to runs wires... did not use gm approve pass through on fire wall and pulled hood release grommet out and ran wire with hole open and cable and wires rubbing on metal...left isolation module loose banging on fender and liner.. left half the screws out of bumper trim.. used non locking nuts on frame bolts...when asked about this was told this is how we do things its easier...i will never go back. if i could give zero stars i would. read more

I have taken my Boeckmann horse trailer here for the last several years and they are one of the few companies that is knowledgeable enough to service this German manufacturers products. I have additionally received excellent advice from Steve in service relative to the care and treatment of the fiberglass shell. I chalks terrible in the desert SW yet he had a great solution. A few days ago I had the opportunity to go to Master Truck and Trailer in Beach Park IL for a few things for our truck. I had the pleasure of dealing with the Owners son Jake. After talking over what I was looking for we went out to look at our truck. Jake took one look at my 5th Wheel Hitch a Reese Elite 16k. Jake asked me when I got the hitch. I told him that I bought the hitch from RA Adams in McHenry the end of February 2021. Jake said did you know the hitch was discontinued 2yrs ago and I said no. Jake started looking at the hitch and found that not only was it installed backwards, but most of the hardware wasn't also even tighten down. Jake fixed all the issues and didn't even charge me. I can't begin to thank the people at Master Truck and Trailer, they are really stand up people. read more

This company has no customer service! I brought my trailer in to have the bearings repacked. I was told I needed other work done and they gave me an estimate of $1500.00 - $1700.00 I was okay with that. The service writer said I needed 2 new marker lights on my trailer. I told him I would replace them. I had 2 at home. The bill came t $1,900.00.WOW! I asked why was it so much more than the estimate. His response was "I guess it took longer" I also asked for a written cost per each item replaced. "Oh we don't have that!" Then how did you estimate it? I asked about the marker lights. Answer "We replaced them!" I said I was going to do that. Gave no response. This place really took advantage of a customer. I would never go back!!! Beware make sure you get everything in writing. I'm done with Adams. That don't care about their customers. Sure, they'll kiss your ass until your sale is final but after that forget it. I ordered parts Jan 19th and now it's a week away from March. I just ordered the part online even though it was more expensive. At least I have my parts. I personally bought several trailers and have had service done on our trucks. Customer service is garbage. Don't think your invincible, new businesses wipe out old ones all the time. read more

The customer service at R A Adams is exceptional! I was looking for a spare tire mount for a new Aluma utility trailer purchased at another dealer. I emailed RA Adams to ask if they had Aluma spare tire mounts. I received a very prompt response to my email from Dave Rudolph. He indicated that Aluma trailers has a simple $15.00 U bolt that mounts the spare tire horizontally on the trailer tongue/frame, as well as more expensive horizontal and vertical tire mounts. I drove one hour each way from Wisconsin to get to R A Adams due to the great customer service I had received via emails back and forth. When I got there Dave Rudolph showed me the different options at the parts counter. He then took me to their back lot by golf cart to see the various tire mounts on Aluma trailers they had for sale. I ended up buying the simple Ubolt mount for $15.00. Dave spent a half hour with me for a $15.00 sale and never tried to push the more expensive tire mounts. I have not had this type of good customer in a long, long time. If you need a trailer or a part for a trailer I would not hesitate to recommend R A Adams. read more

Stay away from this place! It's a zoo and the work they perform is not good. Took my 2019 F250 with less than 700 miles on it over one day and inquired about having a snowplow installed. Steve in service (great guy) gave me a quote, I asked when it could be done, was told the following week on Wednesday. I dropped off my truck off on Tuesday (a day earlier) and asked them to call me whenever it was ready the following day. Late Wednesday, I called to see what time would be good to come out and pick up the truck. Was told they haven't started on it yet, said they would start on it first thing the following day, Thursday. Mid morning I called to confirm that they had actually started putting the plow on, was told they haven't started it yet because they were too busy but would get to it as soon as possible. I asked what the purpose of making an appointment was the week earlier... Feeling irritated, I told Steve I would come out an pick up my truck and take it somewhere else to have a plow installed. He pleaded with me not to do that and promised that it would be installed that day. I told him that I didn't feel comfortable with that because I felt that the job was going to be rushed and that an accident might happen. He assured me that nothing would be rushed. I go to pick up my truck later that day and Steve took me out to the truck and showed me a 5 inch scratch on my fender. He was very nice, apologized and said they would make it right. The owner, Rich Adams, got involved and you could tell by the way he approached the situation that he didn't care. He said that he would have one his guys in the back paint it. I told him that I would decide where the scratch would be repaired...not him. He reluctantly agreed and asked me to run it passed him before having any work done. The following day I went and got an estimate for the repair and spoke with him about it. He agreed to pay for it. I then explained to him that they would need my truck 3-5 days for repair and asked for one of his trucks to use while mine was being repaired. He gave me an old beater which was fine. Rich Adams never apologized for the mistake and acted annoyed about the whole thing! I had a new truck that was less than 2 weeks old that now had a scratch on it and the entire fender was going to need to be painted. I was inconvenienced with having to get the estimate, drop off the truck for repair, pick up the truck when it was ready and never once did Rich say " hey, sorry about what happened". RA Adams in McHenry has been around for a long time and I've used them in the past for other things. I was told that Rich Adams (the owner) was not the person that started the business but he was part of the family. I've noticed that the quality of service has dropped over the last 5 years and in talking with other people they've said the same thing. I'm sure RA Adams in McHenry will survive but there are other places out there that will give you quality work and service that every customer deserves! Needless to say, I will not be going back there and will make sure that spread the word about the poor work and service! I thought about this and said, I wonder if the situation had been reversed if he would have been happy? I wonder if he would have expected an apology and possibly even expected someone to offer a refund for the $500 installation for all the hassle? I now have the truck back and it looks good. I've noticed that I have a burning smell coming from underneath the hood. I think the plastic or rubber wiring harness is sitting on the manifold or something hot. I'll get that checked out before that gets worse. Stay away from this place! read more

Went her to get my wife's horse trailer repaired. Last time visited was when Rich Sr. was still around....Service has declined; prices have gone up--this company is being run into the ground. My experience started out great, as the WEEKS progressed waiting on my repairs to be completed, along with numerous excuses I got to speak with an owner. She was rude and was not professional at all!! Pretty much got told it is what it is even though I dropped off my trailer 3 weeks prior!!! I paid my bill, picked up my trailer and left as soon as possible. I felt bad for the employees whom were getting yelled and berated amongst the company of customers!!! One mechanic was called a dumb*ss right in front of the waiting room. Finding a new location to service my wife's trailer as well as our snow plow. read more

Ordered an axle for my boat trailer. The reps were really nice and efficient during the order and the pickup. I also picked up some u bolts for the axle. After driving home I discovered the ubolt threading was messed up (reverse threads pointed out by the rep). I had to drive back and get new ubolts, not terribly bad. After getting the new ubolts mounted it was time for the tires. 9/10 lugs were fine. One of the threads on the hub was smashed (most likely during shipping not ra Adams fault). 3 stars for their friendliness and willingness to help but not checking the items over before handing off to me. Lesson learned for me to check hardware more carefully before leaving. read more

This place sucks, They sold me new plow western wideout for 6800$ and when was a time for a service less than a year after purchase I called them for a appointment since I live 2 hr away, it was mid november the guy on the phone told me they are busy and everybody wants to fix plows now he said to call next week, I called next week and he said they are not taking any appointments its first come first serve (WOOW!) he told me to bring the plow and they will call me within a week.I then took the plow there to have it check since is on warranty there was a issue with plow leaking down.Two weeks after I get no call from them , I called and they service guy told me they check everything and there is no issue with plow.I wet to pick up the plow 5 minutes after I left the place plow is leaking down! I did not comeback there , took me 10minutes on google to find out and fix my plow that is on warranty , It was solenoid S1 that was bad. RA Adams Enterprises you wasted my time and I will take my business elsewhere read more
