PLEASE READ BEFORE TRUSTING WILD AUTOMOTIVE WITH YOUR VEHICLE CARE: Where do I begin... this was hands down one of the worst car repair experiences of my life. I honestly cannot believe a mechanic this dishonest would have such high reviews. Others reading this please please please beware of this shady mechanic. I was traveling overseas and my wife brought her car here on recommendation. What went from a simple oil change turned into a laundry list of repairs: Timing Chain, all new brakes, new intake manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, new struts, new suspension, cylinder head gasket, AC recharge....and to top it off a Hazmat charge of $200?!?! Thank god I came home before my wife agreed and paid for this egregious borderline criminal total rebuild @ $7000!!!! This was a car we recently purchased with only 70,000 miles. Insult to injury upon arriving @ Wild to take the car back Ken spoke to me and told me that he felt horrible for us buying a lemon and prides his shop in not taking advantage of women (the exact thing that was being done to my unknowing wife). He then proceeds to offer me another "deal" to "help us out". This deal was for us to pay him $4000 + give him our car in exchange for a rusted out old car in his back lot! I politely declined and said we just needed to take our car home and make a decision on the cost.... It doesn't end there! Ken runs out after us and in one last attempt to take advantage of us says "listen this car isn't worth a penny more than $1000 BUT I feel horrible for you guys being taken advantage of so I can take this car of your hands for $1200." .... you can't make this stuff up! We left Wild to another mechanic (personal friend of mine). Car drove 1 hr perfectly fine. My suspicious were confirmed the car was perfectly fine and just needed new pads on the breaks. took my car in for a coolant leak they told me it was the radiator hoses they replaced them I get me car back home the same day and one hour after sitting in the driveway a coolant puddle had formed so I took it back the next day and said the water pump was leaking and Had nothing to do with the hoses. So I took my car over to grove auto and they were honest about what the issue was and even showed me where the new hose clamp that wild put on wasn't tight. So they tightened it and burped they system to insure proper operation. Free of charge. read more

Front tires on my Civic were cupped and made noise. But before I knew the cause I thought it might be the bearings. Sure enough! Wild's owner found I needed two new front wheel bearings. Gave me a quote around $500 to replace them. Three other repair shops and Brilliance Honda in Crystal Lake later checked the bearings. They were fine. Just a tire issue. Would Wild have found the bearings to be bad if I not first suggested it when I first came in? Don't know. Was this incompetence or dishonesty? You decide. One takeaway. Both of our cars have over 100k mikes in them, but based on the way they drive, you would never know that, because of the care they get from Wild. They attempted to fix a basic oil leak on my car, car continued to leak oil and they kept finding more problems for large amounts of money. After 4 attempts and constant excuses, I finally walked away with a car that still isn't fixed and $400 spent on nothing but terrible lies!! To keep a long story, 5 years worth, kind of short and to the point I will just go over the main points. I used Wild Automotive for my fleet repairs for a long time. And even through many disappointments and failures, to include a caliper falling off after a brake job on one of my work trucks, and a lot of just general mistakes and lies told to me I remained loyal. Until recently when one of my enclosed trailers needed an axle replaced due to a bearing failure. It is 3 yrs old , so not a surprise. A week after the repair was done if failed again and caused us a lot of inconvenience due to that failure. I decided at that point to cease any relationship with Wild Automotive. I decided to use a shop that was across the street from me. I contacted Ken Jr from Wild auto and he said he would take care of the repairs and the parts. When it came time to pay the repair part of things he decided that since the first quote for the job, done before it was even looked at, was not the same amount as the final bill he would not stand behind his word and pay for the repair part of things. Typical for this shop to NOT do what is said it would do and have a poor quality repair to begin with. Stay away from this shop. They are bad news read more

Sent wife in for a rattling issue on front end of a Toyota SUV. Told her she needed an entire steering rack and full suspension. Took it to the dealer of all places, and 3 other local shops. Rack was fine! Said power steering pump was bad. It was FINE. Said brakes were all bad. Brakes only had 4K on them? Everyone else said brakes were almost new and needed nothing. Not 1 other shop said it was that bad after inspecting. Needed 1 front strut that was leaking! Over 3500.00 estimate that cost me 850.00 to have the dealer fix BOTH struts and a power steering pump seal. They said a reman PS pump would run me 600 bucks before labor! Toyota used a 40 dollar seal and had it in and out. Other local shops were in the 475.00-650.00 range. Which included struts and PS seal. Same rack I was told would be replaced was a no name reman they were charging 700 for! Toyota sells them OE NEW for 500! Cheap aftermarket parts were going to cost me MORE than the Toyota dealer charged for OE parts! Dealer used OE parts and fixed it at less than a 1/3 the estimate. I wouldn't take my lawn mower into this place for repair. We are senior citizens with limited income. Shops like this are a nightmare to the elderly and women. read more

I have had my SUV serviced here based on a referral and was blown away by their customer service and attention to detail. The work needed was explained in detail and completed according to schedule. They outlined what maintenance would need to be completed in order of importance so I would not be facing huge bills. They also have a credit plan if anyone needs to go that route. I am employed close to their location so they picked up my vehicle & dropped it off while I was at work. They aren't there to rip you off & I have NEVER felt like I was being talked down to because I am a woman. I highly recommend them!!!! read more

I came here because of recommendations on the Cary Grove Chat Facebook page. I had chronic trouble with my Tahoe that another mechanic told me it was time to get rid of it. Ken gave me a diagnosis, fixed it and stood behind his work. When I have trouble, he can usually get my car in to look at the same day. Very fair pricing and friendly service. Warning. They are very dishonest people. One of the employees did the oil change and put my car down too soon which resulted in paint damage with the lift(Very obvious) Went back the next day, the place was closed for no reason. Went back 2 days later, asked if I could see their cameras, and they told me their CAMERAS DON'T WORK. The employee couldn't even look at my face straight. Do not recommend this place. read more

Thank you, thank you to Wild Automotive. We have had our cars to other places to get fixed, but the other places charged me just to put it up on the lift. All I wanted was to know what something was under the one car. They looked, and told me. I expected to have to pay like the other places, but they said, no we don't charge. I was like, what? then we had to get a different car fixed- front end stuff, breaks and tires. Once again, they surprised me in their work, and knowledge. They are all amazing, helpful, kind, hard working, and extremely truthful. They have always taken the time to answer my dumb questions, and help me with every thing that needs to be fixed on the car. Do not use this company for snow removal! I contracted with Wild Automotive for snow removal for our driveway this winter. They sent a contract which we signed that specifically stated that they wouldn't plow during snow, but only after the snow ended which was fine, but I expected that meant in a timely manner. It did not. After the first snow in November, it took several days for the driveway to be plowed. I later received a call saying that they had subcontracted out for that service and were unhappy with the subcontractor so they wouldn't be charging us. After the second snow of the winter on January 12th - 13th, our driveway was again not plowed. I called to find out why and received a call on January 14th telling me that their truck had been stolen and they would not be able to plow our driveway "for the foreseeable future." When the forecast called for snow again on Friday, January 18th, I called to see if they were going to be able to plow or if I needed to arrange for another service. They told me they now had a truck and would be able to plow and would be here on Friday night or by 4 am Saturday morning. They did not arrive until late Saturday night/early Sunday morning and did a very sloppy job. On Tuesday, January 22nd into Wednesday, January 23rd it snowed again. It is now Thursday afternoon and it has still not been plowed. I called to ask why they had not come at which point I was told that they had come on Wednesday at 3 am before the snow stopped but we couldn't tell since it had continued snowing - which was contrary to the contract. I told them that it didn't look like it had been plowed at all, to which Ken Jr. told me that he had actually stopped by today, Thursday, on his way to plow someone else's driveway and *MEASURED* the snow which was not more than an inch. He told me that he moved the garbage cans we had out to check, just like he had moved them Wednesday morning at 3 am to plow - which is unfortunate for him since we did not put the cans out until Wednesday evening as pick up was scheduled for Thursday. When I told him that he could not have possibly moved the cans to plow on Wednesday, he insisted that he did and suggested that I was lying. He told me that he would come back out and plow *again* but wouldn't charge me but that after that we should "go a different way". I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend Wild Automotive to anyone for snow removal service. They are unreliable and their customer service is abysmal. read more

Called them first thing Saturday morning to verify my appointment, I've heard some bad things about this place so I just wanted to make sure.
