I was looking for a place to get a massage and asked my sister for a recommendation. Recommendations is always good! I called them and was able to get a same day appointment (which is typically hard to come by). I then asked my husband if he wanted to get a massage as well and what do you know - we were able to get a couples massage on the same day and same time. LOCATION This place is located in the old part of Waipahu (near the sugar mill). I was able to find it easy with my google map. I pulled up into a small parking area with much parking available. First impression - clean and loved the smell of the essential oils. SERVICE I reached out to Hazel (the owner) and she was able to give me and my husband the a couples massage. I was greeted by one of the apprentices Chalei - very warm greeting. Because it was our first time, we had to complete a questionnaire. Hazel then walked in and really loved her personality. Off the bat, we felt comfortable. MASSAGE Me and my husband were in the same room! Hazel was my masseuse and Chalei was my husbands masseuse. I didn't realize how much I needed this massage. Hazel's pressure was exactly what I needed. After I identified the area of focus she was able to relive most of the tension. Throughout the service, she kept ensuring that I was okay. Wanted to find another massage place close to home. I'm not a big fan of Thai massages, so I went to look for a place I can relax & have a good massage. Location: This place is located right next to the Filipino Community Center facing the Main Street. They have a big sign, you cant miss it. Once you see their sign, you turn right and they have a private parking. It says reserve for the church, but we called and made sure it was okay to park there also. There are a few stalls and was easy to get in and out. Process: When you go inside, you will be greeted by the front desk and they have a short form that you will fill up. Basically asking if you had a massage before, any current surgeries or cuts or open wounds etc. Then, you are greeted by the massage therapist. They greeted with a handshake. Ask where the pain is and I told her generalize, because I wasn't sure which part of my body needed focus on. We were sent to the room to change and get ready. Massage: The first thing I thought she would ask me is what kind of pressure I wanted. Instead she immediately started massaging me on a hard pressure. I cringe because it was actually very hard and my back is sensitive. So she apologize and ask me if I'm ok. I told her just a little softer. And said ok. After a few seconds, it became very hard again. I actually got bruises on my back. I was cringing the whole time. I'm surprised she didn't notice my body tensing up. I didn't want to be disrespectful and keep reminder her to do it softer but the pressure didn't change. I tried my best to relax but It was hard when her pressure was strong and hard. I had a few knots in my back that was pretty obvious and was lumpy and was surprised she didn't take the time to release it. She kept going over it while doing the overall back. I had lots of massages from other places; where they will take their time to really release the knots, but in my case it wasn't relieved. My friend also mention she had knots also; but still was there when she finishes her massage. What I thought was interesting is they spray your feet after finishing massaging them which was cool and relaxing. When my back was done, I felt more relax towards my legs. She did a good job on my lower half (legs & calves). I love the pressure she did on my forehead and my neck! That was a big one for me. I really enjoy how she massage the back and sides of my neck. That was much needed for sure. Overall it was good. I felt lighter and loose. Just one thing everyone needs to be aware of is.. BRING CASH because they CHARGE $5 EXTRA on your card for using their card machine. We didn't know about this and was kinda shocked, that they charge so much. We didn't have enough cash at that time, so we ended up paying that extra $5. Not including tip. read more

Came here for a second time today with my grandma for her Christmas gift.. a relaxing hour-long massage :) I made an appointment yesterday and they were able to get us at the same time in the same room so that was very convenient. Grandma doesn't speak much English but I'm glad her masseuse Carrie could speak Filipino so she was able to ask her what areas to massage & etc. it made her feel very comfortable. Ambiance was same as last time, dim lights, aroma therapy, soothing music to set the mood. I had Liz (I think short for Elizabeth) and she was great! She had the same technique as Shawna from my first visit, which I love! Really worked out my knots and just the right amount of pressure. Good Morning World, I feel amazing following my first ever HOT STONE MASSAGE (1.5 hours of course) yesterday 02/03/17 with Hazel. Let me just tell you first off how amazing I feel. I sit at a desk all day and have had back problems since high school. Anytime I've ever got a massage I have a hard time relaxing, its not until usually half way into my appointment that I actually relax my muscles enough for my knots to come out. This is NOTHING to worry about anymore now that I've gotten a hot stone massage. I seriously will not schedule a regular massage anymore. I'm serious it's that good!!! I personally am one who likes to shower with the water piping hot, even if its a hot day, because it helps me relax all my muscles and the hot stone massage does just that but BETTER. Usually anytime anyone touches me, masseuse, manicurist, etc my body instantly tenses. I guess I'll never get used to anyone touching me. (Yes, I know, I'm weird haha) But the problem with that is that I could never fully relax and let them work all the knots out of me. When I felt those hot stones on back it literally instantaneously relaxes my muscles. My muscles had no time to flinch, tense, tighten they just instantly melt like butter. It was extremely amazing!! If your straddling the fence in spending the extra money for hot stone vs regular, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU, spend the money. I've spent money on worse things. Our backs carry our bodies throughout the day, they need to be loved, and taken care of. The best way to do that is come here and get a hot stone massage. I promise you, you wont regret it. My husband has gone here a handful of times and had a regular massage therapist, however, he was disappointed to hear that she had left. I checked in on Yelp and I was surprised to see that they offered us $5 off any service which I redeemed right away! Thank You! It's small and New looking. The appointment taker had previously told me that there was only one licensed person and an apprentice available. I agreed to have the apprentice work on me since my husband needed to have some areas targeted and I just needed relaxation. I fell asleep mid session and was awoken when I was asked to flip over, which is pretty normal for me whenever I get massages. We have tried quite a few places on the island and this is by far the best. I had an amazing deep tissue massage from a very well trained apprentice for only 45.00 for an hour. This spa provides other services as well, I think they mentioned facial type things, I would call to find out exactly what they are. The facility is clean, modern, cool, and very peaceful. I asked if I would get head to toe. It was neck to toe. The owner said I would have to pay for more if I want the head next time. $75. I paid $45 for an apprentice. The apprentice did my neck only. Seemed time was up.and only lay a cloth on my head. Next The apprentice did not address my sciatic nerve which was the main reason I come to get a massage. I thought the trained apprentice who learned the skill had knowledge on the anatomy education. I had to show her where it was twice. Then the owner told me if I wanted to give the apprentice a tip. I did give a tip cause the apprentice was nice. I gave her tips for being nice and not hurting me. The owner should have been honest about my including a head massage and the apprentice having the skill for sciatic nerve. Please don't rip people off next time. I will not come back. The last time I was here (2015) it was previously 808 body works, now it's called Knead Professional Massage. All minute changes (decor, color of sheets, logo) Front office is still amazing, and superb customer service. My LMT was Kaylin (I hope I'm spelling her name right) and she was amazing. I just had a baby months ago so aside from those back knots, I also sit at a desk all day so my back was in really bad shape. Kaylin was amazing at increasing blood flow first and foremost and also getting out each and every knot!!! She found places in my back that I didn't even know were hurting, healed them and overall left me extremely relaxed (which is rare to do) I definitely recommend getting the 1.5 hour if you have some serious knots to get out. You seriously can't beat there prices for the level of relief you get!!! I love this place and going to make it a regular monthly visit!!! If you are doubting whether to try this place or not checkout all there amazing reviews on 808 body works! This place was super busy when I arrived and departed because I know how amazing there work really is!! They only accept cash or credit card. What I love about this place is that you can have a good quality massage for an affordable price with an apprentice. Schedule a 1.5 hour massage since my upper back/shoulders were tense. Booked my appt with Apprentice Cindy who is really friendly and professional. She gives a good deep tissue massage! She worked a lot in my problem areas which made a huge difference at the end of my appt. I walked put feeling relaxed and less muscle tension. A 60 minute massage is $30 (before tax) and a 90 minute session is $45 (before tax). I love apprentices because they are learning and you can provide feedback to their technique. Parking is limited in their lot but I think you can park in the YMCA lot. The waiting room is nice and clean. Massage rooms are also well kept and plays soothing music. Was a massage therapist for 20 years, owned my own business for most of that time. The massage was mediocre at best and the therapist was friendly at the beginning. However, not once did she check in with me during the entire 90 minute massage, I am pretty sure she was on her cell phone at least a couple times, and I never saw her again after she left the room post massage. It's been years since we've gotten massages & overall we had a good experience. My boyfriend said his massage was the perfect mix of effectiveness and relaxation. I also felt relaxed during my massage but today I am feeling pain in the areas my masseuse has focused the most on. She did a lot of hard pressure elbow work on my upper back/traps. I was a fan of 808 Bodyworks so I was sure that I would LOVE Knead Professional Massage. The staff here is super friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. If I'm not mistaken, majority of the LMT's are the same as 808 Bodyworks, which is a huge plus! It's great to know that I can still request my favorite masseuse. I made a last minute appointment and they were able to fit me in the next day, how awesome right? I was able to get one LMT and one apprentice for a 1.5 hour massage at 2 o'clock appointment. The day of the massage came and I was quickly greeted when I walked in. The business looks exactly like how 808 Bodyworks was laid out, the new owners didn't change much so you'll instantly fell calm and comfortable. I opted to get massaged by the apprentice and give my boyfriend the LMT since he was feeling more tension. The masseuse made me feel very comfortable and made sure that the pressure what just right. The hour and a half came too fast, I was so relaxed that time just melted away. In all honesty the apprentice was great! She used the right amount of pressure and got to the points that really troubled me. This was my first time here. I called on Friday afternoon and was able to book an appointment for Saturday morning, which was very accommodating. The staff was friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked into their cute and well-decorated waiting area. I scheduled my appointment with an apprentice for 60 minutes. My massage therapist was Ariel. Although I wish I scheduled a 90 minute massage because she was that good, she made great use of the time and worked on all my problem areas. I like a lot of pressure to work out all the kinks and she was able to really dig into the knots and relieve tension.
