Kneaders has been around as a local place for a long time, and it's still just as good as it was when it opened. The sandwiches are fresh, the bread is delicious, and the baked goods are awesome. Not all it's cracked-up to be. When we moved to UT, everyone told us we had to go to Kneaders. When we finally made it, I was pretty disappointed. The paninis were pricey and greasy. Lame. Confusing and chaotic layout, no printed menus but for an old one with different prices on standby for the guy taking orders (and the menu above the counter has no details), the arses of those in line are right in the faces of those seated behind them. Guy on headset was unhappy and didn't mind showing it as he told everyone trying to order where to line up because, like I said, it was chaotic and not obvious where traffic flowed even though the place was only half-occupied. There's no space to stand and figure out what you want to eat before you order, so pick something quick and get the hell outta the way. Luckily we checked our to go orders before leaving, because our chicken salads had no chicken on them. My guy's salad, though the same as mine, was less than 2/3 the size. Both were 90% lettuce, with few of the goods that were on the (hidden) menu. No dressings listed anywhere for if you wanted something other than what your salad automatically came with. But don't wait too long, because the line can be out the door the closer it gets to 10:30 am. Make sure and take one of your kids with you because it makes for a fun date with dad. Hint: if you take your teenage daughter, she will just share some of yours. If you take your son, expect to pay for two and expect to wait for seconds and thirds. My favourite is the Turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Lots of avocado, and lots of turkey! I usually substitute the focaccia bread with their amazing croissant instead. So buttery and good. I love their apple cinnamon bread pudding! Microwave it for 30 secs, pour the sauce over and you get warm, delicious goodness. Their turtle cheesecake is pretty good as well. Eclairs are decent with a generous amount of cream inside, but pastry is a little dry. Service is usually quite slow. I would come here more often if it didn't take so long. read more

I am a regular customer as we buy lots of bread, mainly out of other locations, in spite of their long drive-thru time. This Provo Kneaders is substandard by far. It capitalizes on its location and name, but the place is a dump. I have used it here and then for the past five years, giving the place the benefit of the doubt, thinking the poor work ethics and filthiness was due to lack of supervision or a temporary change. Unfortunately, it isn't. Glass, floors and ceilings are filthy; glass surfaces poorly wiped, even the display ones. From the front counter, you can see the dirty work surfaces, sink, mess, banana peel and rags in a corner right by cutting knives, sink, and bread. The ceiling fan is clogged with grease, has probably never been cleaned. Black dirt accumulates on the floor around each corner. The small hallway leading to a nasty bathroom is filled with boxes and junk. Right now they are selling a plastic decorated Christmas tree for over $1200! You will find a bulky bookshelf overflowing with dusty objects of poor taste (for sale). I will never go back. Staff is undertrained and lazy. I am sure this place doesn't get a grade A, I can't imagine the state of the kitchen. So time to actually clean, remodel, and drop the bookshelves filled with DI findings. Focus on food, because my overpriced sandwiches were filled with brown avocado slices and dry turkey. Come on, you can do much, much better! read more

Do NOT go to this location! I normally LOVE Kneaders but this place is a joke. The normally delicious syrup tastes like watered down melted butter, heavy on the water. I have been to several Kneaders locations and I will NEVER return to the one in Provo!!! The employees were very confused and didn't speak English very well. They were not able to answer my questions. I asked for one of something and ended up being charged and given to. My fault for not paying attention. When I took the lid off my hot chocolate there was a long hair stuck in the whipped cream. They replaced the hot chocolate but didn't offer me any kind of compensation. The chocolate didn't taste very good either and was not hot. The entire store was not taken care of and the restroom was not at all clean. This review is specifically for the Kneaders near BYU. The concept for Kneaders is great. However, the implementation of the concept at this location is terrible. I once went there and the place was FULL of flies. How can you run a business when there are flies all over the place? I walked out and I vowed to never return. The workers at Kneaders have the breakfast assembly line down. Saturday mornings are crazy, because who wouldn't want $5 unlimited french toast? Or my personal favorite, the sausage egg breakfast crescent (to die for!). It has the perfect ratio of bun, to egg to sausage. And the crescent tastes freshly made and flaky. This location is the worst. I swore to never come to this one a few years ago... Couldn't remember why... We moved back to the area and I was really wanting the turkey bacon avocado sand which. We chose the drive-through and they greeted us immediately but said wait one second. So we waited. And waited. And asked if we could order now. She said one more second please. Then we shut our car off. And waited. Then ordered. And waited about 20 minutes after that. Once at the window we waited some more. When he she handed us our food I asked for a slice of sample bread (that they always have out in the restaurant) and she said sorry they didn't have any. And she forgot our napkins. Then my sandwich was HALF the size of my husbands and we ordered the SAME thing!! The food was really delicious UNTIL I hurt my tooth! I took a bite and it was the hard little rock ball on the top of the avocado that they didn't get out. It still hurts. So 2 stars because terrible customer service (didn't apologize for wait) incredibly slow, and size of food with the avocado bit. The Provo store is very small and seating cramped and limited. It took a while to move the order line of people during lunch. Had the chicken pesto panini, which was a large serving -- could have split it with someone else. It was very good and I'd order it again. The chips would be better if they didn't taste like they were stale. I've also been there for breakfast. I haven't a bad item for breakfast. I've eaten at other Kneaders, which also have very good items on the menu, just wish the Provo store was a bit bigger. read more

Love the bakery (especially the raspberry croissants & breads)--love the sandwiches (all are wonderful)--hate the crowds & squished seating. Worth standing in line though & we have never been disappointed with anything purchased there. French Toast breakfast is the deal but you can really get through much more than one order. Don't ever go through the Drive thru (nightmare at any time & you can get locked into it for hours if you get behind the wrong folks ordering huge orders). Service is painfully slow & inefficient.
