The cheesesteak is made with thinly sliced steak cooked fresh on the grill with onions and peppers and mushroom mushrooms. I don't get the peppers. They give me heartburn. But the way they cook this is so awesome. The steak is always tender and juicy. And they use a little bit of salt use a little bit of salt, but a lot of black pepper. And that's what I love. And then they melt the provolone cheese on top and then put it all in one of the softest tastiest best buns I ever ever eaten. I got the full-size. They also have a half size and a monster size. Ginger's Garden Cafe is absolutely one of them! I LOVE ginger, so naturally I had to try the orange carrot ginger drink, and it was amazing--fresh, bright, and exactly the kind of pick-me-up I wanted. It's surprisingly hard to find a really good beet salad these days, and theirs was exceptional. It was also a LOT of food, so I happily had some to take away. I also tried the falafel salad, and the falafels were delicious and juicy, with an amazing dressing and feta that brought everything together. What I especially loved was how I felt afterward. Everything tasted fresh and nourishing, and I walked away feeling energized rather than sluggish or weighed down like you can after eating at so many places. It was just a refreshing, guilt-free, feel-good meal. They have a really great menu with so many things I'd still like to try. Honestly, I wish places like this were chains instead of all the fast-food restaurants everywhere--I'd happily eat this way while traveling! Highly recommend giving Ginger's Garden Cafe a try. Two people stood around while the guy operating the slicer was overwhelmed and clearly frustrated taking it out on the bread. I stood there wand watched and watched. I was invisible! We were at the register for quite some time. I've heard great things about their scones, but these were fried way too long and were so difficult to cut. Not great. The apple pie shake might be the worst shake I've ever had. It was like eating frozen green apples with ice cream, and the textural experience was not pleasant. I couldn't eat more than 1/3 of it. Ultimately we regretted coming here and it didn't feel worth it even with the deal. I've had Chubby's before and liked it, so I was bummed today. At least the fries were good.
