An old style diner The Knight & Day Diner may not look like an old style diner from their parking lot. But inside you will find one of the better Grilled Nut Sticky Buns in Lancaster County. The room is large and comfortable. The service is adequate.

Despite the not as many 5 star reviews, this place came as a recommendation, from a young lady at Bath& Body Works. Ive learned in traveling, to always ask locals of the area recommendations. The atmosphere, decor , and menu was a bit overwhelming; and amazed me on how many different paletes and choices were covered. Special shout out to my waiter: on July 3, 2025, evening dinner for his top notch customer service . Ordered steak pani, with a side salad. The pani was made to order, salad was enormous, with all my favorite fixings, and rolls on the side. This diner deserves all the awards, for the last 14 years. To find a diner, open 24 hours is unheard of these days. Will defintly return, next time in the area.

Always excellent portions and great breakfast options here. The tomato, basil omelette is excellent as is the yogurt fruit bowl which has granola as well for a nice crunch!

Literally THE PLACE to go for a quick comfort bite in Lititz. Took all our friends here the morning after an overnight stay. So tasty and the menu is a novel. Also went on Valentine's Day, and while there was a line out the door, we got served in less than five minutes. Must go!!

Chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes & gravy, and cheesy broccoli and cauliflower

Food is consistently good portions, flavor, and variety. Staff is pleasant and efficient. They can seat larger parties. Decor is attractive. Ordered the chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes and veggies of the day this time. Was able to have 2 more servings from the takeout. Disabled accessible.

I have loved this place since my first visit. Breakfast is potentially my favorite meal and Knight and Day reminds me why. First of all, the service is excellent. The people are so kind and your food comes out surprisingly fast. The menu is almost more than you can handle- as my biggest issue with this place is I never know what to get- but the meals never fail no matter what. In addition, I always have some to take home, as the description of this diner fits it perfectly, stating "generous portions." Prices aren't bad at all- especially compared to nearly any other diner in this day and age. The inside is very nice and comfortable with many booths, seats and nice decorations. They even sell stored desserts (which I have honestly never tried but look amazing). I am shocked and disappointed in the current (3.7) rating and pray for justice for this amazing, well-rounded diner.

We miss Bobbie Jo so much!! She is a great person and we really appreciate her fun personality. It was always a pleasure having her serve us. She was an absolute sweetheart to all of us!

Huge portions for the price - I suggest going for breakfast. Quick service. The other meals are good for sandwiches and burger type food. We got country fried steak and a vegetable omelette.

I have eaten here on occasion in the past and convinced my companion to go. This is always a hopping place because of the extensive diner menu, large amount of seating and prices. It is also open 24 hours. We decided to get our selections from the 55 and over senior menu. Lots of seniors in the place today, around 1pm. I got a huge portion of schnitzle with gravy, which was very tasty. It came with one side, a salad or soup, and ice cream or pudding for dessert. Like any diner in Pa Dutch Lancaster County, they offered hot bacon dressing on lettuce. This is a super sweet concoction I love! The lettuce was barely green, but it came with a hard-boiled egg, so it was all good. My side was applesauce with cinnamon, and I got butterscotch pudding for dessert. The pudding was really orange, but the taste of butterscotch was discernable. My companion loved the links of smoked sausage, which looked like kielbasa. She got the sweet potatoes with an unknown sauce on top like a hollandaise. A few of the potatoes were black inside, and our server remarked, "That happens." Yes, it does, but generally, the kitchen staff will remove it so that only edible food is served. The unsweet tea was brewed well and refreshing. The total bill was $27. You pay up at the front and there is usually line of diners waiting to pay. I love this diner. Any time of day or night you can get almost any type of food you could want. Service is brisk and the busboy was right there for clearing dishes. If you are looking for traditional Pa Dutch fare, or an extensive breakfast menu, or more off the grid items like gyros or Italian fare, you can find it here.

Food was good, service left a lot to be desired. It was very busy, but clean, and we sat quickly.

The American diner experience is alive and well in Abbotstown, Pennsylvania at the 81 Diner. What a…read morelovely little gem in this tiny little town. My immediate reaction entering was, wow what a clean place. It is clean, bright and very welcoming. Our waitress was a lovely young woman who took the time to go through the menu with us and tell us things that were popular with regulars. I chose a roast beef melt with tomato soup and my husband got a gargantuan sized turkey dinner with all the fixings --real mashed potatoes and gravy, roast turkey, which they roast in house, and stuffing with a side of carrots. To round out our meal we had coffee and two scoops of ice cream also made in house by the waitress's father. Delicious, especially the cherry vanilla. Couldn't have been more pleased with the food, ambiance and reasonable prices. We are new to the area and looking forward to another good meal!

Now, years later, my wife and I would pass by the new 81 diner and would always say we needed to try it. We'll, today was the day. We stopped in for lunch, and aside from a gentleman waiting for his to-go order, we were known as the customers. I guess not a lot of people eat at 3 in the afternoon. The atmosphere was very nice. The tables, chairs and booths all fit the diner nicely. My cheesesteak sub was very tasty. Their menu said no substitutions, but they let me withhold the lettuce, tomatoes and onions, which I'm not fond of, so I'm glad they let me do that. Along that note, my wife ordered the BLT sandwich, and gave me some of the bacon, which was really good! Our friend George ordered the pizza burger, which also looked good, and he seemed to enjoy it. Their fresh cut fries were fantastic as well. If I had anything to complain about, it would be that the music being piped in was too modern for a classic diner atmosphere and wasn't something we were expecting. Hopefully that's something they will eventually change. Maybe next time we will stay long enough to try some of their desserts, which looked pretty good too. We will definitely be back soon.

Came here on a Monday just after 10:30am and they honored our breakfast order. The lunch menu starts promptly at 11am so this was really nice of them. The place is so cute! It's got a country/hipster vibe. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a bar! :) My one issue with breakfast was that I asked for butter and was given butter packets. We came here thinking we were having fresh Amish butter, nope! - What a disappointment! Ugh. The reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of the weird smell. Walking in I thought maybe we walked in right after a gassy person but as we walked through the restaurant to the back the smell was still consistent. We got to the table and the smell seemed to go away or at least we got used to it. At one point I had to use the bathroom and while walking around to find it, the smell hit me first. I was able to smell my way there. Once walking out I was sick. My husband also had to use the e bathroom but the smell was too strong for him so we went stopped elsewhere. The place has a smell that's a mixture of plug-ins and poop. It's the weirdest thing. I'm not sure if they were having sewer issues today or what happened. It seemed like they were definitely aware of the issue because the smell of several plug-ins or air fresheners was obvious. I'd like to give this place another try since the ambiance, food, and staff were all great but the odor is a dealbreaker for me. I guess I'd have to go back & see if this issue gets resolved, if not, I would not stay a second time.

Country diner feel, nothing spectacular, you feel like you are home. You can see the regulars coming through and that's always a good sign. Our server seemed both rushed and annoyed in general. Like I said, I don't know if it's because they were short handed. We never got any coffee or water refills and it seemed like the order when it came out was a struggle. We had ordered hashbrowns for my daughter and they never came. The food is what you would expect from a diner vibe. Some really exceptional, some not so much. The pancakes were obviously a selling point, my wife's waffle was delicious. The sausage and scrapple were great for this kind of establishment. Bacon was stale and cold. The sunny eggs were actually cooked perfectly, which I never expect from anywhere, so kudos on that. The fresh fruit selection was bananas and thawed frozen blueberries. So you get what you get. Overall, stick to the pancakes, sausage and scrapple, steer clear of any fresh fruit options and don't expect much from the service if you aren't a regular. I'd still go back and try other menu options.

I understand what your job involves, but standing over customers & demanding them to order something so you can leave & get tip doesn't fly. The interior of restaurant was just ok, the bench's for booths in rear of restaurant were missing. Very gloomy atmosphere. The soup yankee bean was the best part of my whole meal. Which for the amount that was ordered should've been on point. Items ordered: Yankee bean soup, steamed carrots & fish n chips Wife got salad, buttered corn & fish n chips We also got potato skins & chicken tenders (appetizer) Wouldn't you guess it they would serve everything all together. I'm so glad that I didn't indulge myself & eat the fish, I am one of the few people allergic to Tilapia. As an ex Chef I know the basics for fish n chips is 95% of the time cod. (Nothing was stated on the menu) I ate the fries which were obviously fried together, already had the lovely feeling of throat swelling up. I let wife take care of things due to myself thinking it was just my stress from work (go outside for fresh air) Wife than calls me back into restaurant with fish in hand(and owner had not known what fish was used for this item on the menu) I was floored! How do you not know your menu from front to back. He later told us it was Tilapia & he still wanted compensation for us getting the fish. The establishment used to be on my ok list, this restaurant is now worse than Pizza Hut. No point in sharing photos it wasn't a pleasant experience. Kudos to the owner for being an out right Dick!
