Another visit today with a different coworker than last time. Our meals were plentiful, ready quickly, and reasonably priced. Service provided by Beth was great! My coworker is slight of stature but can definitely eat and is properly described as a foodie. She was happy that I brought her. I had the Mac n cheese special for $11.99 which included a nice salad, two dinner rolls, and stewed tomatoes. For an extra $5 I added a huge and delicious crab cake. My coworker got something called Funky Fries which she said was like a gigantic omelet with various ingredients and about a half-pound of cheese. She liked it and took about half of it home with her. I appreciate that Knight & Day serves coffee in a small carafe to top up my cup. We were in a hurry and since I didn't refill my coffee, I asked for a to-go cup which Beth cheerfully got for me. We had seven people. Two had ribs, two had potroast, one had Greek chicken, one had meatloaf and one had chicken tenders. Food was just ok. No one was overly pleased. Not sure what award the ribs won as advertised. You certainly get alot of food that is for sure. No one could finish their meals. Server was very nice just not good. She would disappear for long periods of time and never come back with what you asked for. Also very weird that they did not allow senior meals on holidays. Would not not return. read more

We've given this restaurant a chance many times over the years & it never has been a good experience. From finding a ladies ring in a salad, rude managers that don't care about their customers especially if there's a problem, waiting over 1 1/2 hrs for our food for it all to be cold & several items not even brought out like salad, mashed potatoes, rolls, etc. When bringing this up to a manager he said & did NOTHING! Despite the not as many 5 star reviews, this place came as a recommendation, from a young lady at Bath& Body Works. Ive learned in traveling, to always ask locals of the area recommendations. The atmosphere, decor , and menu was a bit overwhelming; and amazed me on how many different paletes and choices were covered. Special shout out to my waiter: on July 3, 2025, evening dinner for his top notch customer service . Ordered steak pani, with a side salad. The pani was made to order, salad was enormous, with all my favorite fixings, and rolls on the side. This diner deserves all the awards, for the last 14 years. I have loved this place since my first visit. Breakfast is potentially my favorite meal and Knight and Day reminds me why. First of all, the service is excellent. The people are so kind and your food comes out surprisingly fast. The menu is almost more than you can handle- as my biggest issue with this place is I never know what to get- but the meals never fail no matter what. In addition, I always have some to take home, as the description of this diner fits it perfectly, stating "generous portions." Prices aren't bad at all- especially compared to nearly any other diner in this day and age. The inside is very nice and comfortable with many booths, seats and nice decorations. They even sell stored desserts (which I have honestly never tried but look amazing). I am shocked and disappointed in the current (3.7) rating and pray for justice for this amazing, well-rounded diner. read more

We stop in for lunch. We order three meals. And we were surprise of the amount of food.Over all it was ok. My husband order chicken croquettes and the chicken was spoiled. It smellt terrible. I know things happen but, they should have notice while cooking or heating it. It was taken off or bill. The waitress was friendly and apologize . Would I go agwain? I have eaten here on occasion in the past and convinced my companion to go. This is always a hopping place because of the extensive diner menu, large amount of seating and prices. It is also open 24 hours. We decided to get our selections from the 55 and over senior menu. Lots of seniors in the place today, around 1pm. I got a huge portion of schnitzle with gravy, which was very tasty. It came with one side, a salad or soup, and ice cream or pudding for dessert. Like any diner in Pa Dutch Lancaster County, they offered hot bacon dressing on lettuce. This is a super sweet concoction I love! The lettuce was barely green, but it came with a hard-boiled egg, so it was all good. My side was applesauce with cinnamon, and I got butterscotch pudding for dessert. The pudding was really orange, but the taste of butterscotch was discernable. My companion loved the links of smoked sausage, which looked like kielbasa. She got the sweet potatoes with an unknown sauce on top like a hollandaise. A few of the potatoes were black inside, and our server remarked, "That happens." Yes, it does, but generally, the kitchen staff will remove it so that only edible food is served. The unsweet tea was brewed well and refreshing. The total bill was $27. You pay up at the front and there is usually line of diners waiting to pay. I love this diner. Any time of day or night you can get almost any type of food you could want. Service is brisk and the busboy was right there for clearing dishes. After being seated, menus were dropped off quickly, but then we had a big gap in service. No server came near us for quite a while. I started to look around the dining room, and a busboy in a black shirt saw my distress and whispered to someone to check on us. A young lady came over and said our server was in the back slicing lemons and would be over to us ASAP. A few minutes later, a different young lady came over and said our server was in the back doing something else and would be over to help us ASAP. A few minutes later our server walked over and went right into taking our orders with no "sorry for the delay", no "Sorry we're understaffed" or any semblance of an explanation. Of course we were ready to order by now. I went for the cup of soup (She Crab) and half a sandwich (turkey) $6.99 and my wife ordered a BLT (also $6.99). Both lunches came with a bag of Utz chips and a pickle spear. The BLT also had a side of slaw. For $6.99 the sandwiches were very impressive with lots of turkey on mine and lots of bacon on hers. The weak link was my soup -an impossibly thick unappetizing ghostly white mucilage. Had I known it was a cream based soup (BTW, what's the deal with this area's love of cream based soups?) K is for Knight & Day Diner: My parents moved to Lancaster, PA in early February 2021 to be closer to me and various other considerations. I helped them move across the country. Besides them moving in on Thursday, February 4, 2021, the next time I came up to visit was the weekend of February 27-28. On Saturday, February 27, 2021, my parents & I tried Knight & Day Diner. Coming from Maryland near DC & Baltimore, where I live, I was in culture shock to see the crowds waiting for dinner during Covid times. We were all masked up, but some customers weren't. I was little nervous as I wasn't used to it at the time. In my area of MD in February 2021, everyone was masked and tables were more distanced apart. The normal dining experience here was a positive for me, but we were living a little on the edge as none of us had been vaccinated at that point. The server was friendly answering all of our questions; my main question was do you recommend the gyro as that was what I was leaning toward getting. They had a large variety of items on the menu, and we each got totally different food. The prices were surprisingly reasonable. In DC-Baltimore area, the prices would be higher at any diner. I ended up getting the gyro, which came with fries. Going to diners, I know a gyro is often a good choice. This was no exception. In fact, it was one of the best gyros I ever had! It was large too. The fries were very good too. My parents liked their food, but I think my dad was a little jealous because he said he probably would've liked mine better. I would definitely come back here, but I don't visit enough, and there are a lot of other restaurants we've tried in Lancaster County. I want to return in the future. read more

Served was great, I ordered schnitzel with gravy, figuring it was brown gravy....nope sausage gravy like for breakfast. It didn't fit, mashed and gravy was one side it was a ice cream scoop of mashed that was barely microwaved with brown gravy from a mix on it: best thing I had was the pickled beets. My partner had sugar cured ham steak, he said it was good and it was a large portion but he had the same results with his mashed. His other side was corn nuggets or fritters. This restaurant doesn't even deserve 1 star- came in with husband a few weeks ago- we were very hungry and at first after a bad experience thought " let's give them one more shot " . We were wrong ! Not even 5 mins the place reeked of a heavy duty cleaner that was so powerful you could taste it - it made my throat /sinuses hurt.. We were waited on , given drinks as the couple in a booth in front of us - were rude to the point that the woman stood up and yelled across the room to the server ... She looked at us as though we were the problem , then stated how sorry she was but then did again - We finally upped and left - NEVER to return .. A huge disappointment... coming from the NYC metropolitan area - we were excited to have a diner 5 minutes away... it checks the 'diner box' in A) it's open 24 hours B) it has a huge menu. And that's where it ends... Food is okay... but even a cheese omelet was Meh... when I asked for fries to be well done - it was a difficult concept for them to understand. Ohhh - a few notes- if you're looking for upping your Diner-cred - add the giant revolving display cases of cakes and pies to the front of the restaurant- add some baklava and Greek specialties. We stopped here late last night after getting into town for our mini vacation for my upcoming birthday. This has always been a favorite diner of ours, so we try to get here every time we are in town. Last night, our waitress was super attentive and as a major plus, kept the soft drinks coming as quickly as we could empty our cups. My wife had the triple decker club, which looked good, but it was just so much food, she just couldn't finish it. I had the Philly cheesesteak, which was excellent. I think the pickle spear wasn't necessarily, but my wife was happy to take it off my hands. She liked having my coleslaw as well. Those french fries, though... I don't know what kind they use, or how they cook them, but they're some of my favorite fries ever. I dined on New Year's day. This is a good place to go for Pork & Sauerkraut for New Year's. I usually am not a big fan of the pork, but today it was so moist & tender, I think it's the best I've ever had. I received a generous serving of two mounds of mashed potatoes which tasted like home made, lots of pork, & sauerkraut. Totally disappointed in a recent experience at the Lititz Knight & Day Diner which I ordered the open face roast beef sandwich served with mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and a cup of bacon potato soup. Leaving with an uncomfortable feeling, unable to finish the serving, my stomach was UNABLE to handle the extensive tasteless flavor of floury starch. The potato soup was thick, and tasteless. The roast beef was extremely dry, the bread in the open faced sandwich dry without even a touch of gravy, the gravy thick with a starchy flour taste which only touched the dry beef, as were the potatoes thick, thick so starchy. The worst meal served in a long time. When ask by both the waiter, and the cashier "How was your meal ?", the experience was shared with no reaction to an offer of consideration for the poor starchy food served. There was no moisture on the plate. Also, the serving was not very warm. Would highly recommend that this menu item be reevaluated for taste, and flavor. This review required a star be added. Zero stars was my personal preference, however, was not an option. There are too many excellent Lancaster County restaurants to even patronize this establishment when visiting the local area. read more

Had a good diner lunch here. It was our second visit. The first time we had breakfast and that was really great. My spouse had some tasty French tomato soup-- which was tomato soup with croutons and cheese. She also really liked the Black Russian sandwich with was ham, turkey and Swiss with Russian dressing. She thought the onion rings were a little too greasy even though they looked good so those went un-eaten. Im always looking for the spots that make their own gravy and alas this is t one of them but the bread filling was fabulous with the roast beef. The meat was a little dry and the gravy a little thick for my liking but it's certainly not the worst version I've had of this dish! I'm giving this place a lower rating bc mine wasn't as hot as it should have been. Service was good. They were super busy but everything came promptly and we were checked on, etc. the ambiance is a little unusual. It looks sort of like a castle from the outside. I guess it's sort of supposed to look like one inside? Not entirely sure. But it was nice and clean. We would definitely go back though it's not my favorite diner I. When it comes to restaurants, I place the taste of food above all else. I can deal with bad service, everyone has a bad day. I can deal with the ambiance being off, I'm there to eat. But if the food doesn't taste all that great, everything else gets picked apart. The food my wife and I got was not good. it's just that simple. The service was good. Our waitress was friendly and offered to swap the food for something else, but what we had was so bad, we were just ready to go. My wife had a bacon and egg sandwich and she said it had zero taste. She tried adding salt, jelly, butter, but she said nothing helped. I had sirloin steak and eggs with hash browns. The steak was ordered medium and it was tough. I had to keep spitting bites out because I just couldn't chew it enough to break it down. The hash browns were bland, even after adding salt and ketchup. The eggs were even worse. I'm not a salt person, but I added a lot and still that didn't help. I tried to push through, but we eventually gave up and left. Which brings me to how you pay for the check. You have to go stand in line, which normally wouldn't be a problem, but the line is in front of other customer's tables. So, I'm standing next to a person I don't know who's trying to eat and I have to keep getting close to them so I can let other people by so they could get to their table. It just wasn't a pleasing experience. I read other reviews and apparently what my wife and I ordered was just an anomaly because most people seem to love this place. I don't see myself going back after this experience, but I do wish the business continued success because there are a lot of people who love it. read more
