I have never felt so blatantly lied to and gas lit than when we ate at this establishment. My wife and our two kids visited this restaurant with my mother in law as we had heard they had the best cream chipped beef around. We looked at the reviews and the pictures here on Yelp and yes, it looked delicious. Both my wife and mother in law ordered the cream chipped beef. Myself and my son ordered other things which were okay at best, but that's besides the point of this story/review. When the food got to the table, the cream chipped beef was so ridiculously thin and watery. It didn't even cover the bread as there were clearly dry spots on the bread and it there were tiny shreds of beef within. It was honestly pathetic looking. My mother in law took a bite (maybe 2) but couldn't eat anymore. There were chunks of nearly raw onions within and she doesn't do well with raw onions as it causes her to have pretty terrible coughing fits. My wife soldiered on and just ate it as she is one to avoid confrontation as much as possible. When asked if everything was ok, my MIL explained that she couldn't eat it because of the onions and the waitress offered to exchange it for something else. She opted to just order a piece of toast instead which was brought out rather quickly. We also explained that the cream chipped beef was not the same as how we had seen it pictured here on Yelp and even showed her the photos here and the explanation given was that the cream chipped beef was made fresh every 3 days. So the longer it sits the thicker it gets. We just got it "super fresh" and that's "honestly, how out owner wants it to be". Ok, fine. Weird, but fine. Unfortunately when we got the bill, they not only charged us for both cream chipped beef dishes but also $2(!) for the slice of sourdough bread that she had ordered. Our waitress sent the manager over when we asked why one of the orders wasn't taken off since, as mentioned, she couldn't eat it. We then explained to him that what we got did not meet our expectations based on photos and reviews we've seen online, even pointing out the gentleman seated at the table next to us who also ordered the cream chipped beef after we got our food. His order was clearly much thicker and covered the entire plate. He apologized but gave us an a entirely different explanation about the consistently of the meal stating that EVERY order of cream chipped beef was made to order and that sometimes it just comes out like that. He left and then returned with a new bill. One in which he simply removed the $2 slice of bread. He then left and sat another table directly behind us, this time taking over 2 minutes to explain the history of the restaurant and how it was a scratch kitchen, yadda yadda yadda. We again asked for him to come over and asked for one of the orders of cream chipped beef to be removed from our bill as my MIL literally could not eat it. He kept pushing back saying that every order was made fresh and that it sometimes varies. My MIL, as calmly as she could, explained that she was trying to be nice and not overly confrontational but felt that we were being treated unfairly. She even mentioned that when he had sat us, he never gave us the whole spiel on the restaurant or anything. but he clearly wasn't listening to her at all as his replied back with "well I'm sorry, but we don't have any specials running today" (WHAT?!?). This is when my wife spoke up. As mentioned she hates confrontation so her speaking up was huge. To the point where she literally started to get tears in her eyes from being so angry. The manager apologized again and returned with a new bill. But before he did the gentleman sitting at the table next to us was leaving and as he did so leaned over and said "excuse me for interrupting but I overheard all of that and I eat here and order the cream chipped beef at least 2 times a month and have NEVER had it look like that. That's not normal". We thanked him and he went on his way. When the manager returned he had removed both orders of cream chipped beef as well as brought out some desserts for us to take home on the house, which is nice and, while not too little, was definitely too late. Unfortunately despite this seemingly nice gesture his attitude never felt truly apologetic. Moreso as if he was in fear of getting in trouble and begrudgingly doing whatever he thought he needed to do to save face/shut us up. The menus have a nice story on them about the prices all ending in $0.37 or whatever so they can pay their employees well and offer them benefits and 401k plans, but maybe they should use that money to also train their staff better so, even if they do want to keep lying and gaslighting their customers, they can at least get their stories straight. ------ On a side note: the "caramelized bacon" is a pretty hilarious joke. $6 for 3 strips of bacon with brown sugar melted on it is pretty wildly priced. A most unique diner-esque restaurant featuring a very eclectic (and tasty) menu obsessively focused on bacon, all kinds of bacon: bacons you never knew existed. The ambiance is semi organized chaos with servers running in what looks like haphazard directions, but like worker bees, they seem to get to wherever they're supposed to. The walls are ornately decorated with chalk art. The gift shop features Pennsylvania Dutch Birch Beer (weirdly), Gracie's tees, and local items, but seems to be a half hearted effort. The bacon-focused menu also features French toast, a lucious Monte Cristo, and elevated versions of many breakfast specialties like Lancaster Hash. (They also serve lunch and dinner, except on Sundays when they close at 2PM.) The menu includes a number of creative hot and cold drink concoctions. We had the Huevos Ranchero (their spelling, not mine), double smoked bacon, French toast with cinnamon butter, and Irish bacon. No crumbs survived. Our server was exuberant when present, hard to find otherwise in this expansive, confusing structure. Despite some grousing in other reviews, there is tons of parking. Don't expect to converse much as the acoustics inside are poor and when full (usually the case) it gets very loud. A great stop but details get lost here. We had no napkins and no spoons as table setting is merely a cup with two knives and forks. Strange...but not for Gracie's. read more

3.5 stars here. This place gets BUSY but the space is massive with many different rooms so the wait won't be longer than 15-20 minutes in most instances. Service super friendly. The menu is massive too. Many bacon options, including that yummy bacon jam. Prices are not diner friendly and depending on the item, the portions are not worth the price. I had a special (Shakshuka) and the biggest item in the dish was a loaf of bread. Tasty bread but the eggs were not baked and simply over super easy. Small skillet too. If not for the bread, I'd be leaving starving. The Gracie's Breakfast was more reasonable and served with a side, banana bread too. Had to see what all the hype was about. Glad I did. They are a fine oiled machine and have added a gift shop. I had the Spicy Chorizo Hash, and my daughter had the Chorizo Omlette. This was my second visit to Gracie's, and it's becoming a favorite destination for my friend and me to dine when I visit from out of town. So good. Gracie's is popular to be sure - and it was packed on the Saturday morning we visited, so do make a reservation if possible and save yourself the wait. They do have a massive parking lot, so at least parking is a breeze even during peak hours. Gracie's is all about the bacon! And much of the decor includes funny bacon-themed quotes and sayings. Give yourself a minute to check them out. The food is excellent and there can be no doubt that that is why it is so packed. They even have a special section of the menu just for bacon! When I visit, my go-to is the Gracie's breakfast, which comes with so many decisions to be made - cook on the eggs? Poached, breakfast meat? Bacon, of course!, bread choice? banana bread, obviously. So good. I love how Gracie's makes even the basic breakfast option special. My friends and husband went with the French toast and bacon jam, the burger, and the monte cristo (because sadly, the donut burger wasn't available). I did have the chance to sample the bacon jam, which was tasty -- an interesting mix of sweet and salty sitting atop ritz crackers. We stoped here a few weeks ago after visiting Barry's Car Barn. It was pretty busy but we didn't have to wait long at all. We thought the atmosphere was nice and the food was also good. Some of the food was a little different than we expected, but still very good. For instance, the hash browns were more like potato slices and the Worcestershire Black Pepper Bacon looked more like ham slices, but was also very good. The banana bread was also amazing. Consider this an odd review. Well, perhaps not that strange because people Door Dash or Grubhub meals all the time and then write about their results. But for me, I feel like this misses the mark on getting the true experience of a place. Despite that, I still had to give a five star write up to Gracie's On West Main even if I didn't interact, see, or go to this delightfully delicious spot. You see my wife and I were staying at an Airbnb nearby and wanted to grab something to eat, though in this area of Pennsylvania there aren't a slew of options (spoiled New Yorker over here). Scrolling through choices, I honestly wasn't the one to find Gracie's. The credit goes to my wife and when I saw that this spot had a stellar Yelp score with over 750(!) reviews to boot I knew it had to be fantastic. Fantastic is for sure because Gracie's starts with a glorious menu of options. You can tell the place specializes in more of a breakfast/brunch mindset, but they have plenty of dinner options and a handful of morning items that can be snagged all day long. That's actually what I chose to do in getting the chicken and waffles (more on that in a sec). For my wife, she went with a burger salad and then we also shared a side of mac and cheese. Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not mention the bacon portion of Gracie's menu. There are a variety of flavored types and so we had to at least try out one (caramelized bacon was our choice). Now after listing it, let's get real and talk about the tastes. Even with our meal getting delivered, everything we tried was near perfect in being accurate to what we ordered along with not being cold and also being filled with some fantastic flavors. My wife's burger salad was large with plenty of beef patty for it. The mac and cheese side was pretty big and had a creaminess that definitely screamed comfort food. As for that caramelized bacon it should have been illegal it was so good. Though the real winner in my book was the chicken and waffles. The chicken on top was tender, tasty, and breaded in some delicious spices. The waffle was fresh and fluffy and it all came together with a sweet and spicy syrup that was on the side. Oh and the meal also came with two eggs (I chose scrambled) which just added to the awesomeness (and the great price for everything). Overall, I have never interacted or been to the interior of Gracie's On West Main, but boy have I plowed through some of their food and oh man was it delicious. It's tough to throw all five stars at a place that I haven't truly experienced all facets, but the fact that our order was right, the price was good (even with the Grubhub up charge), and the food was spectacular, I'm confident enough to give them the old five spot. So get to Gracie's, but if you can't, at least order out! read more

I took my Mom there for a Mother's Day breakfast and it was absolutely wonderful. The people were so nice. The food was delicious and we enjoyed every aspect of our meal. It was the cleanest restaurant that I've been to in quite some time. Our server's name was Maricelis and she was the best! She gave us all the time that we needed to look over the extensive menu. She also gave us suggestions. The only thing I would say is make sure that you check your bill. I ordered an item off of the special list and was charged $2 more for it on my bill. Went here on Saturday morning 5/24 while visiting my sister in Pennsylvania. I made an online reservation ahead of time, so when we got there they took us right away. The place was packed and very loud. We ordered the big bacon sampler to start..for over $20 we decided between the four of us it was not worth it. We all had some of each one (I think there were 8 different flavors) they were good but for the price not worth it. Everyone got bacon with their dish so that's why we all said we wouldn't order the sampler again. Now I ordered the coffee drink flight which was amazing. 2 cold coffees, 1hot, and 1 juice. Every one I tasted I enjoyed. (The flavors are on the photo I posted) For my breakfast I ordered the classic Benedict with home fries. It was a huge plate the eggs were covered in a thick hollandaise sauce that had a strong lemony flavor, it was definitely different from others I've had because of the sauce but it was still very good. The home fries were hand cut potatoes nicely done. The plate was so big I could only eat half and it completely filled me up. The prices of the food items were very good especially coming from Northern New Jersey. We also had a very sweet server that was very attentive and was able to answer any questions we had.
