It pains me to give this place 3 stars. Our waitress was the sweetest the food was really good. We were in town for the Easter holiday weekend. Came here on a Monday just after 10:30am and they honored our breakfast order. The lunch menu starts promptly at 11am so this was really nice of them. The place is so cute! It's got a country/hipster vibe. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a bar! :) My one issue with breakfast was that I asked for butter and was given butter packets. We came here thinking we were having fresh Amish butter, nope! - What a disappointment! Ugh. The reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of the weird smell. Walking in I thought maybe we walked in right after a gassy person but as we walked through the restaurant to the back the smell was still consistent. We got to the table and the smell seemed to go away or at least we got used to it. At one point I had to use the bathroom and while walking around to find it, the smell hit me first. I was able to smell my way there. Once walking out I was sick. My husband also had to use the e bathroom but the smell was too strong for him so we went stopped elsewhere. The place has a smell that's a mixture of plug-ins and poop. It's the weirdest thing. I'm not sure if they were having sewer issues today or what happened. It seemed like they were definitely aware of the issue because the smell of several plug-ins or air fresheners was obvious. I'd like to give this place another try since the ambiance, food, and staff were all great but the odor is a dealbreaker for me. I guess I'd have to go back & see if this issue gets resolved, if not, I would not stay a second time. read more

We always enjoy our visits to the Brickerville House. It's cozy and staff is friendly. I LOVE what they have done with the recently upgraded menu offerings. Their cocktails are stellar and I have loved trying the seasonal specials. Their burgers are top-notch and we all enjoy the Wisconsin cheese curds. My most recent visit I ordered the fish tacos and I was impressed with every component of that dish. As far as cocktails, I've tried the blackberry bramble, which is deep and flavorful; raspberry lemon drop that is bright and mildly sweet; and had the cherry cheesecake from the winter menu and enjoyed the fresh flavor with a rich finish. The beer list is also very good with offerings from Dewey Beach, Troeg's, and other craft breweries. I feel Brickerville House is consistenly a great value for your money. It's a comfortable place to meet friends and it's also good for kids. read more

No matter how many times I come here, I can never decide what to order because everything is that good. Their menu is stacked with classics and creative seasonal specials that always hit the mark. This visit, we had the mocha latte and honey nut latte (both made with Whiff Roasters coffee love that local touch), the pumpkin cinnamon roll pancakes, the breakfast BLT, and the Brick Griddle. Every single thing was delicious. The pumpkin cinnamon roll pancake was absolute perfection the right balance of sweet glaze and warm cinnamon spice. The breakfast BLT is one of my go-tos: hearty, fresh, and somehow comforting every time. The service is always top-notch friendly, attentive, and surprisingly quick, even when the place is packed (and it usually is!). I've been here for dinner and lunch too, but breakfast is where they really shine. If you're anywhere near Brickerville, do yourself a favor and stop in. We have a golf trip to the Lancaster, PA area and always stop at the Brickerville House Restaurant. Good breakfast. Very unique interior. Service is always quick and excellent. I ordered an excellent western omelette which was delicious. There were 24 golfers being served breakfast of all varieties. Food had to be good..all cleaned plates. Adequate parking. Cash or credit. On this most recent outing to Brickerville, I went for breakfast. My husband and I were seated quickly, even though the restaurant was very busy. Watch out, their breakfast menu is quite extensive. Our friendly waitress stopped by several times to take our order, but I was still gazing over the menu choices. In the end, I got what I always get - home-fries, one egg over medium, a side of bacon and buttered, marbled rye toast. I did try a London Fog drink, something I'd never had before. Ooh, this my "new" fav drink - a steaming mug of Earl Grey, a touch of vanilla, with a foam of milk on top. I grasped the mug in both hands, while sipping it. This drink was warm, soothing and delicious. I was mostly happy with my breakfast of egg, potato, toast & bacon. Finally, home fries with Real potatoes (you restaurants who use canned potatoes - I know you know who you are); my only complaint was that I wished there was a bit of crispness to the home fries. Needed a restroom while shopping at the antique shops and as it was around noon . Decided to give the restaurant a go. Cute eclectic atmosphere of the restaurant was welcome, service was quick to seat us and the rather massive menu was perused. I wasn't that hungry so opted for a BLT with a burger option and keep the chips, the spouse went for a mushroom Swiss burger with chips. The bacon on the BLT was good the tomato actually had flavor but the toast was burnt and the burger overdone. I also had cheese for some reason. Not a do over. Spouses burger was correctly cooked and was tasty she said. Chips were the smallest I've ever seen. Box was provided with the intent to have later. Visited here with friends. I got a delicious omelette. while they enjoyed poached eggs and ham on an English muffin with fries. The meal was super tasty. The ambience had a lot of personality. The seats very similar to the kind you see in church pews. The space itself once you enter inside is surprisingly huge with a large stone fireplace. Historic country feel. Oh my, everything was so good. So was our waitress. We had a 40 wait but it was well worth it. We started with their special sangria's- one peach and one mixed berry. The were both delightful. Next we had the soft pretzel smothered with their hot crab and decadent cheese sauce. Oh so good we ate every bite... we now start to worry about having too much dinner... LAM had the grilled pork chops. They were so tender and juicy that a single bite was the star. She also got the fried eggplant, like mom used to make only better. George , the owner , is very visible and really cares that u are leaving with a smile on your face .. The food is great and so is the service.. I've taken , out of state company, visiting me there and they've loved it too .. , they felt they had a unique experience for a visit in a very comfortable atmosphere..., It's has established quite a local regulars that visit this restaurant often .. I know a young girl that worked there during her senior year of high school..,she loved working for George ...she left her job when she began her college years . I think it says a lot about the management...as well as the fact she was so happy to work there ..with great people... The food was outstanding. I wish I could say the same about the two ladies at the hostess station. We made reservations 2 weeks prior. They would not seat us until everyone was there. Even though our table was sitting empty the whole time. Our ages were mid 70s to mid 80s. They refused to seat us til all were there. The one couple ran into high traffic and was 10 minutes late. We stood about 20 minutes. That's a long time for folks in their 80s. I cold see if we didn't have reservations and had to wait for a table. But to have a table reserved and empty......we all thought this was totally unacceptable. read more

Fantastic Breakfast Place! Very busy on a weekend - but we still had great service and were seated quickly. My highly recommendation is the cinnamon bun pancakes - my friend recommended them and I stupidly didn't get them (but I hate half of his). Fantastic! I had the eggs benedict with crab cakes - not quite the flavor palate I was expecting, but I think all the ingredients were fresh. My buddy had the gyro omelet and he loved it. We both had the grilled cheese sandwich which is made on thick bread with three cheeses. It's served with pickles and potato chips. It's exactly what you want in a grilled cheese sandwich. I have loved this restaurant for years, but it seems to be on its downside now. It's as beautiful as ever, but the food is losing quality somewhat. Service wasn't that great tonight. But most of all, this restaurant has a FLY problem. This is about the fifth time in a row that I have had to swat flies off my food. Tonight we had three relentless flies. The place has more flies than a garbage dump. There is a very high probability that flies get to your food between the kitchen and the table. There is no excuse for flies in a sit down restaurant. It's a nice place.....BUT the back room is awful. People are obnoxiously loud and it makes for an unenjoyable atmosphere. This time we literally had to talk over people to hear each other and then they talked over us and got even louder. The food is ok, not the best, not the worst. We asked for crispy bacon and got limp barely cooked bacon, we also asked for sourdough toast and got cold hard sourdough with unmelted fake butter on it. So all in all, we would go back eventually to try again but ask to be seated in the quieter dining room area and if the food is still mediocre then we will not return. The menu was enormous that should of been the first clue that the food would be sub par and pre pared. There was a nearly full restaurant so we were hopefully we would be impressed but, the food was not better then any average place. Husband had Shepard's pie which was average at best, I had a shrimp fry basket definitely nothing to brag about, granddaughter turkey sandwich, and grandson a hamburger which is the only thing that looks appetizing. We had seen others being offered dessert and hoping that didn't disappoint yet the girl came to the table threw the receipt down and said you can pay up front, (It was probably around 8pm) and a guy was vacuuming the area as we were eating. My husband said no dessert huh? Oh, did you want something? At that point I said don't bother let's go obviously they want us to leave. I will say as walking to the cashier we heard others waitresses offering guest dessert and also heard, Sorry we are out of coffee. I wasn't sure what to expect here. It's not really close to anything, as far as a town/city goes. It's tucked amongst some other retail shops - it's like its own village. I would have liked to have walked around, but everything was closed. The decor is cozy, family style with a country vibe - very Lancaster County. This restaurant is located in a shopping village, diagonally across the street from a Turkey Hill. It's tough to pull into the parking lot from the street. I like that their menu has a lot of options. And I like that there are plenty of seating areas, and they're in small-ish rooms so noise isn't an issue. Service was aloof. I couldn't tell if I was an afterthought or if maybe they didn't want me there. It felt that way from the moment I walked in to the moment I left (from the greeter, the waitresses, and even at the end when I was trying to find a restroom). It felt as if I was at a party that I wasn't invited to. Nobody was rude; but nobody was all that pleasant. My food was so-so. I'd eat here again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. I had asked for french fries instead of chips, but got chips; I wasn't charged for fries, so that's good at least (but it means the waitress really didn't take my order correctly). I got a pulled pork sandwich with gluten-free bread; it was fine. Having food allergies/sensitivities is a real bummer when eating out. I was happily able to order food that worked for me (I'm gluten-free and dairy-free). But if you don't have allergies/sensitivities, then their menu has a lot of options. read more

Indeed it was! Highly recommend trying it. We also ordered an appetizer of the Brickerville French Fries which had cheese, scallions and bacon and it was delicious. I also ordered the baked oatmeal (banana and strawberry flavor) and had it with oat milk. I highly recommend that as well for breakfast. This was a lovely experience. We had a nice lunch, with good service and decent albeit confused ambiance. I'll start explaining this a little, the ambiance is odd there's different rooms that seem to different themes. I don't mind that it's just a little strange when you're not expecting it. Service is pretty easy and straightforward our waitress was lovely, polite and attentive. The food was great! While our appetizer came out luke-warm it's not the end of the world. My tuna melt was delicious though, one of the better ones I've had. And to top it off, the chips accompanying it were a nice touch, a departure from the standard fries I'm used to.
