Low/no frills small town diner/cafe place to stop at if you are the area. The food is just average but the costs are low. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and my friend got the Philly cheesesteak. Both of our sandwiches were dripping and the bread was getting soggy very fast. Almost everyone here other than my table were regulars. Staff were fine, nice enough and very friendly to their regulars. The coffee was good for my tastes, not acidic nor bitter. Unlimited refills on the coffee. I'm not sure there's anywhere better to grab lunch in the surrounding area because this place had the best reviews. If I were to go again I'd just stick with the breakfast plates. read more

Solid. Idk why reviews are so harsh - grabbed and AirBNB with friends this past weekend and stopped by Sunday for breakfast around 10:30am on our way out. Our server was very nice and did her best (she was on the older side) but the food was good! Parking was super easy as well! We ordered sticky buns for the table (YUM!) - the pecan was delish, a must order!! We ordered omelettes, breakfast burrito, waffles, oatmeal. Everyone liked what they got! We wanted to try a different spot for breakfast. I turned to Yelp yet again! This place was like a humongous diner. We started with toasted sticky buns. They were heavenly! I had blueberry pancakes. Wonderful, heartwarming and overall adorable experience at the Willow Street Restaurant today. We were a large party of 9 sat at a round table. They have a kids menu which comes with a drink and an ice cream - it's a good deal. Three of us got the salad bar which comes with two soup choices. It is a good deal for only $12 if you like soup and salad, which we do. They also have rolls and crackers if you need bread with salad, which we do. Some of us got sandwiches/wraps. They come with a bag of chips or fries for an extra $2. I might get the chips and order a separate side of fries to share next time. Service was really great and prices were reasonable. Overall 5 stars. Bu... they need to get an additional 5 stars because they had an adorable Easter Bunny walking around doling out treats! She was stopping at all the tables, took photos, gave candy. So sweet!!!! This little Easter celebration REALLY made our day and we will surely be back to this adorable spot when we're in the neighborhood. read more

Consistent service, good quality, quantity and selection. Regular staff, always friendly and attentive. Great place to bring my grandchildren, staff is always friendly to the kids. We ordered door dash from here. The food was beyond bland and no condiments. I ordered home fries and a chicken sandwich. The home fries were 100% straight potato, 0 salt/pepper, no onions, no ketchup with it. I would have got more flavor eating the box it came in. Same thing for the chicken sandwich: lettuce, bread, tomato, chicken. The dredge they use for their fried chicken must just be 100% flour. I had to run to the corner store in the snow to grab some salt, pepper, mayo and ketchup. (In the pic the mayo on it is the mayo i had to run out and buy). Seated quickly on busy weekend mornings, servers are prompt and attentive, coffee is refilled regularly. All positives in my book. A few mishaps with one older server, but she was sweet and kind, quickly correcting her mistakes. The hash browns are seasoned, the bacon was crispy, my eggs were cooked correctly. It's a diner thru and thru with a big diner menu, generous portions and a family feel...right down to the whispery bickering at the hostess stand about who's working, shifts and schedules. :). Known to the locals as "The Diner". Food is diner- style but they have some surprisingly good dishes including their crabcakes and cheesesteaks. The breakfast is always good- love the deep fried potatoes! My mom loves their broiled cod dinner. I still enjoy the club sandwiches (fresh sliced turkey) and fries. Homemade soups too! I forgot to take a picture but we had a very good crabcake (2) dinner with a baked potato and salad last night. Before Covid struck, my in-laws ate here almost every day...they enjoy the food, convenience and the friendly employees! Reasonable pricing and decent portions. No frills, but good local food. Ate dinner there last week. Ordered broiled flounder with side of rice. Flounder came fried as in fish and chips fried. Also was greasy. Rice was not cooked properly...hard as in crunchy. The only good thing is the wait staff. They are very nice and efficient. Would not eat dinner here again. Very poor quality. There are better places to spend your money. We have made an annual visit to the Willow Street Diner for 20 years and it never disappoints. The coffee is classic and gets our day started. The Belgian waffle with strawberries is a party on a plate. Delicious! We love the eggs Benedict and Luxembourg. The soft cooked eggs were perfectly cooked. The new tater tots hold their crisp perfectly. Our meal is complete with the local scrapple, which is crispy on the outside soft on the side cooked to the Dutch perfection. Stopped yesterday with a few friends, I wasn't very hungry so opted for two blueberry pancakes, now the price for just two pancakes only NO meat was $7.99 which I did think was high but then again we were in a diner so I thought they would be well worth the money, NO!!!! My friends all ordered lunch as it was after 11am. Their food looked OK but 2 of them had fish and complained about the tiny portion. My pancakes were the absolute worst I have ever had. The blueberries were hard and chewy, pancakes were barely warm, stuff to cut thru with my fork, very obviously reheated in the microwave, just awful! I had the sweet tea with was so overly sweet my teeth started to ache. So I paid exactly $11.64 for 2 tuff, reheated barely eatable pancakes and a glass of terrible sweet tea, What a Ripoff! If I could give 0 stars I would considering I didn't even get my drink order taken. We sat for 10 minutes watched all the waitresses sit at the end of the bar chit chatting, a table of 4 women came in and got their drink order taken immediately the hostess said this table is yours to one of.m the waitresses she said yeah I know and walked away. As we walked out the waitress said to the hostess they walked out and the hostess said "REALLY???". Sitting there for over 10 minutes the least you'd expect is a drink order when the restaurant was empty except the table next to us who also complained they hadn't seen their waitress in a long time when they were all standing around. read more

I am from out of state and used to come up to Willow Valley every summer with my cousins and grandmother. It was her favorite place. We would eat at here for breakfast. Unfortunately, Willow Valley is gone but it such a nice nostalgic visit with my boyfriend to the Willow Street Market. Service was friendly and we were seated quickly. After reading the other reviews I am shocked. Could we possibly all be talking about the same place?!? This is a diner/family restaurant with a full menu of items - too many in my opinion to provide fresh ingredients and execute each dish properly which is exactly what I think the issue was at the time of our visit. We dined here only because of the proximity to a car show across the street. In all my years living in Lancaster I have never heard anyone say anything good about or seek out this place as their dining destination. Service was prompt but not without error. We both choose "safe" dishes - him a cheesesteak and myself something called a Black Russian - similar to a Ruben only without sauerkraut and the addition of roast beef. We inquired about the fries - fresh or frozen and the waitress proceeded to tell us they had four varieties - one being hand cut daily. That's what we ordered however we were presented with obviously the frozen variety. The waitress quickly made it right but honestly the "fresh" were worse than the frozen. I don't even think there was so much as a drain or shake between going from the deep fryer to the plate. The grease was glistening from heavy saturation, the fries limp and tasteless. Our sandwiches weren't much better. His cheesesteak was made with Steak 'Em meat and a thick, canned sauce. My sandwich contained grisly turkey which I've never had before and the ends of the roast beef were dried and hard. Obviously both meats were old and not stored properly. It was barely editable. Overall not such a pleasant experience and a waste of money. Would not recommend or come here again. read more

After reading the reviews we thought we'd try this place for dinner. We will not be returning. Here are the reasons: 1. Honey-dipped friend chicken----frozen in center.......hostesses tried to tell me "this new chicken doesn't fry right".....seriously? 2. Prime rib----appeared to have been cooked and reheated....tough and dry, per husband it had a bad taste 3. Meatball sandwich.......Wawa is 100 percent better. 4. Grilled cheese with bacon---bacon was obviously fried and refrigerated for a while.....daughter said the taste was awful. The server (very nice) advised she was removing the chicken meal from the bill. I would have thought along with that i would have been approached by a hostess with an apology instead of a bumbling excuse at the register while I checked out. Due to the lack of vehicles in the parking lot at dinner time on a Friday night we should have been more cautious. As far as the 5 Star reviews I wonder if they were during a time when there may have been another cook? At any rate this was a mistake and we will not be returning. I hope the management considers my review as they are not a franchise and are on there own in the dining options available. read more
