If you're bringing someone disabled it might be difficult for them to get down to the beach. There's a second parking area if you drive just past the main lot with a second entrance to the beach, but it's not much better than the main entrance. If you're going to designate something a city or state park; you should maintain some sort of accessibility for disabled folks to actually enjoy it.

There are a few picnic tables scattered around the parking lot with the best ocean view if you don't want to or can't walk down to the beach - which is usually very windy and on the chilly side. We've always brought a picnic or gotten take out at one of the eateries just up the road (something at the 60's Cafe is a good choice). We tailgate or just eat inside our truck because of the wind. It doesn't matter since coming to see the ocean is the goal. On any given day I could just roll down the window enough to hear the roaring surf and take a nap. Someone mentioned the birds. Yes, lots of them: seagulls & crows especially. Just be careful if you have food (bread & crackers draw them like a magnet), they are pretty bold and don't seem to be afraid of people. The beach is apparently very dog friendly as almost everyone there the day we were had one or two. It was nice to see a free "poop bag" station and people actually using it. Road's End is considered a State Park and is well-maintained by Park Rangers. Best of all? No use fees! Definitely my Happy Place in Lincoln City.

The fries are always a big hit, wish they had a buffet, we typically come here for the grill or crispy sandwich or halibut sandwich. This particular day my halibut was two small strips! Not too happy about it, usually it's a fillet. I'll still come back, won't order the fish no more since the cook got Shiesty with my fish! Giving them 4 stars for good service! I will come back, I recommend the chicken sandwich. For being a casino I feel that this place can step up their game in the menu. Just my opinion.. Great view on both locations!

Most of my problems are related to the actions and temperament displayed toward me by the reservations staff, Heather the supervisor, and Nick, an employee with 6 years tenure. I found their communications with me to be unfriendly, disrespectful, devious, and not ones that reflect favorably on the massive corporate structure whose rules they of course follow, unflinchingly. I refuse to spend any of my time and/or money with people and companies that treat me like Chinook Winds incorporated, trains, expects and requires their service employees to treat customers. So sayonara, I will never return Heather. I hope your corporate profits will now soar in 2026 since you have charged me a late checkout fee of $25, when I was led to believe otherwise in a conversation I had with Nick at 11:20am, and not notified that I would be charged by a very dour Heather at 12:45 when I was granted admittance to my room for 5 minutes to collect my things. Just duplicitous and deceitful behavior. Ciao for now, and forever!!

It doesn't get much more coastal than this region…read more We were really fortunate to visit the Oregon Coast in November on a clear Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Nothing but sunshine greeted us. No rain, fog or clouds dampened our road trip. The weather this week where we visited: Coos Bay, Florence, Newport, Yachats, Depoe Bay forecasted rain and wind with even a gale warning in some parts. The Oregon Coast is so beautiful! Thor's Well in Yachats at high tide was amazing to see. At low tide we saw some brave folks walk down towards the edge of that gaping hole. In Florence we descended down 208-ft in an elevator to the Sea Lion Caves... we didn't get a chance to see any sea lions at the time but the cave was cool to see. In Newport was where we saw sea lions bask and roll about at the docks just below Clearwater Restaurant and Port Dock One in Historic Bayfront. FREE! No matter the season, the Oregon Coast is a rejuvenating getaway. We enjoyed visiting the coastal cities, admiring lighthouses, making footprints in the sand, dining on the coast, checking out unique souvenir shops, seeing miles and miles of public coastline that continue to be free and public... captivated by the beauty of the mighty Pacific Ocean. Let's go! Review #3262
