Much like the reviewer below, Taneisha Gordon, I just had the same experience with Dr Knight!! I was told after services I owed a $40 copay which I paid to avoid a confrontation. After calling the insurance company I found out that was a complete lie. After this Dr Knight got very ignorant and loud with me, I in turn just walked away while realizing that this lady was completely ghetto! Furthermore, I already found a new dentist that is nice, clean professional, and who will be putting on two crowns for me for less than $2500 (... Dr Knight quoted me over $3600 for the same type if crown). Also when I tried to get a copy of my xrays from Dr Knight (knowing I was going somewhere else) tried to charge me another $45 for my records... So my new dentist took new x-rays at no additional charge! Once I saw my new dentist was ethical and professional, I gave them the $2500 before I left his office!! Dr Knight literally missed out on a couple thousand dollars over $40!! Smh, do better! ****also make sure you look her up on Healthgrades.com!! It appears this is her standard behavior. If you decide to go to this dentist please proceed with caution. Knights Dental placed an ill fitted crown in my mouth and I tried several times to work with the office and dentist to fix my issues, but I was ignored. I had to visit another dentist in order to get the ill fitted crown removed from my mouth that was collecting bacteria and have them give me an actual crown that matched my tooth profile and color. I visited Knights Dental several times and let them know the crown was uncomfortable and was painful on top of just not liking how it looked in my mouth or the color. It was a big blob in my mouth and looked nothing like my original tooth. I later found out that the crown wasn't custom and based off my old tooth, but a generalized shape that was placed in my mouth which I didn't understand. After finding this out, Knight's Dental wanted to charge me additional fees (they said it would be lab fees) to correct their mistake. Also pay attention to how you are billed for services and what they tell you you need to pay for services to be rendered - ask for a printout or digital version of your treatment plan. If you have insurance, ask for a predetermination and wait until your insurance tells you what you need to pay. Your treatment plan should have 3 columns on it - fee, PPO/insurance fees, & patient - if you have insurance and those 3 columns aren't on your treatment plan, I would suggest finding a different dentist or request a predetermination - call your insurance to find out more details. If you decide to go to this office - Don't let this office take money from you that is not required for you to pay especially if insurance covers the services - call your insurance and get all the information. You will have the hardest time getting your money back from this office (disputes and a bunch of phone calls had to be made). If you do pay them use a credit card, do not use cash or a debit card. Keep a paper/digital trail of everything - get your receipts for payment and keep all documentation. Make sure the dentist files your claims and don't let them tell you the standard fees are the PPO fees because they aren't. PPO fees are significantly cheaper than the standard fees - DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INSURANCE FOR EVERYTHING. Be cautious of the information you receive from this office. Please believe me, Dr. Tasha Knight is a most brilliant dentist and periodontist. I'm a senior and have been to several dentists. NONE compare to her and her staff. No pain extraction, kind, caring person. I'll never go to any other dentist except Dr. Knight. Do yourself a favor, don't listen to the negative reviews they are NOT TRUE. She's the best in town. Sad say that another business in our community has dropped the ball. My son and I showed up for our appointments only to be told that they did not have us on the schedule for that day or any day in the future. I had also schedule a future appointment for another family member and was told that they didn't see that one as well. At the end of the day and the previous days to follow, I never received a phone call of apology or an explanation as to why our appointments were not on the books. This is another African-American dental practice but I try to patronize. I started coming to this practice over a year ago and when she had a staff things were good; but once she seem to have lost her staff unsure why the practice went straight to HELL in a Hand Basket. I would call leave message no reply come for an appointment get there earlier and end of waiting more than hour or more than asking me to reschedule my appointment. I went to an appointment on Oct 11, 2022 got there way before my appointment 1st person there and still waiting over 35 minutes. Then after my procedure was advised I needed some more work on my tooth and Dr Knight would contact my insurance and let me know my out of pocket- I have been calling since Oct 13th; and leaving message on voicemail and with the staff. I call the other day her daughter Leah answered the phone and yes I was super annoyed in the lack of professionalism and never receiving a call back. So again I wait another few days still no call- call this morning and Dr. Knight answered her phone I explain who I was and she was like I'm going to dismiss you can find another dentist and say you can get your records and hung up on me. I was like how can you be upset when as a profession you did not do what you was supposed to do; but all I will say until she has a staff STAY CLEAR OF HER PRACTICE!!!!! Today was my first and last time at Knight Dental. Probably the worst experiences I have ever had. For starters, upon arriving they had no record of my appt. An 8am appt.... but they were able to schedule me for Thursday at 3pm which was fine. I arrived for my appt and had to wait for an additional 30 mins with Dr. Knight finished her lunch. When I was taken to the back the office smelled like hot wings or bbq -_- ..... sat down in the chair and the lady asked what my concerns were and took my x-ray. Another patient walked in and Dr. Knight immediately began working on her. While sitting in the next room over I could hear the patient in pain.... which is not uncommon ... but it was the way Dr. Knight addressed the woman ... she was VERY RUDE .... asking the woman if they were going to have a problem and if she needed her mouth numbed and screaming at her to turn her head several times... if that was off putting enough when she got to me she spent 3-4 mins debating with me about my name and what I would like to be called(I have 2 last names) I in formed her my first name is fine but she refused and decided to call me by my second last name, which is fine. While examining my teeth she reminded me over and over how small my teeth were and actually chuckled a few times ... this is a fact I have known all my life , but no other dentist I have visited ever made me feel so bad and self conscious as she did ... as she continued with the examination she informed me I had a cavity this was also something I was aware of. At this time she sat me up in the chair and asked what type of insurance I had and how I wanted to pay ... this was odd for me because I'm used to paying as I check out ... I reached in my pocket to get out my debt card she took it and went to the front ... she came back sat down and began to clean my teeth ... this was THE most painful teeth cleaning I ever experienced ... she was not gentle at all and yelled at me to turn my head towards her like she had done the other patient as well... I don't feel as though my teeth are as clean as they usually are when I go to a more professional office... I will say the lady at the front desk was very polite and kind but as far as the Dr goes I would never go here again ... and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone... What can I say my crown I got from them fell out so I figured hey I'll go where I got it plus I'll get my teeth cleaned. Staff was cool they informed me I needed to pull a tooth and went on to ordering a extraction so they can get approval I have medicaid. I informed her I was going to get my tooth pulled else where which I thought was cool to them. So now I'm still waiting to get my teeth cleaned and she tells me you need a deep cleaning and it will be $1400.00. Which was cool but I was in no place to do so at that time and only came for a general cleaningso I was still sitting their and she let's my chair up. I asked what she was doing and she said she can't do a general cleaning after informing me of what I needed. I left very confused why she couldn't clean my teeth and went to another dentist 30 minutes later was xrayed seen and my teeth were cleaned. Don't know why she turned me away but was quick to order a extraction that she could get approval for that paid more then a cleaning I guess. Then tells me just get better insurance no just do what they are paying for. The other dentist said they can't stand dentist like that I just smh. First and foremost, I want to say I rarely take surveys or give reviews. However, after my experience at Knight's Dental Family Dentistry it was a MUST!!! It was a must that I take time to do this review. This office has the most pleasant staff I have ever experienced. The moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with a warm smile followed by the gorgeous décor and nice smelling lobby area. The lobby area is very pleasing to the eye. Nice and comfortable, and it makes you feel so good as if your right at home. When I walked into the dental office, I felt as if I had entered into a nice relaxing spa. But wait! It gets better! Dr,Knight is TRULY AWSOME! She is well experienced, patient, and truly down to earth. I really feel as if I could write a book about my pleasant experience.
