I love this off the beaten path stop that we made. This is not only a creamery, but also the town post office. We spent an hour speaking with the local town folks and just learning about the history of the town, the various pieces of art hanging around and also the local terrain. We also ordered some ice cream and frozen bananas. Great people, great service. When we hear that sometimes a trip is about the journey and not the destination, I will think of Knight's. Coming out of the wilderness and driving home, we needed a milkshake, and this place delivered. I got a vegan peanut butter and chocolate shake, which was refreshing, full of flavor, and topped with nondairy whipped cream. My friend got a vanilla shake which was a solid classic. A cute little creamery on the short main strip of Knightsferry. There's a variety of flavors to choose from, toppings, shakes, floats, banana splits, etc... What makes it so different is that along with the indoor and outdoor seating, there much more seating in the hidden Library in the back, which also has and entrance to their post office, and a bathroom, really clean. After river rafting at Stanislaus River during a 100 degrees day, this is a nice place to stop of literally cool off. During the summer months, it's always hot here, and it's the perfect weather for ice cream. We've been here before and we always enjoy our time here. It's a quaint place with plenty of charm and treasures that it can offer. The people working here are always so nice, welcoming and patient. You see, every time we come here, we come in a huge group and they are always very inviting, cheerful, professional and accommodating. I think they are used to the influx of large groups of people arriving all at once after a long day at the river. From what I remember from the previous years, they have expanded their menu to include more items, and the more the merrier. But for me, I always stick to their milkshake. And 90% of the time, I'm getting the coffee flavor. Kona Coffee flavor for that matter. Makes me so happy inside while giving me a jolt to keep me going on that long drive back home. But don't be in a rush to leave and explore the area. There's a large room on the side that has a table and couches that you can relax on. They also have a library of bookshelves that I assume locals would enjoy. Hey, if I lived in this charming, quiet and small town, I'd definitely come here to spend time lounging in the area while reading a good book. If you find yourself in this part of California, stop by Knights Ferry Creamery for a sweet taste of small town hospitality and delicious ice cream. Cute ice cream shop in an old house in Knight's Ferry. Nice garden area where we ate our ice cream with our family; we had three dogs among our group so this was convenient. Lots of people sat on the steps. There are restrooms and indoor seating, as well. The sundae's come in a plastic cup and are generous. Super duper cute. Have you seen an ice cream shop with a library, antique shop, living room , museum inside the store ?!?! There's a living room , an antique store, a library , a post office and the ice cream serving area downstairs and the museum upstairs. The couple who served us ice cream was nice and friendly. Cute little spot for ice cream and coffee off the highway. Made a pit stop here on the way back from Yosemite and glad we did. After our ice cream, we took a stroll around the historic mill and covered bridge. Super friendly and accommodating staff, charming building that stays cool even in 100+ degree weather, easy parking (they even have handicap parking with ramp in the back), cozy dining area with outdoor and library "overflow" spaces for parties or general hangout, and, of course, really delicious (and reasonably priced) ice cream and snacks. Added bonus: library has a vhs/dvd player with an awesome stash of oldies but goodies (ie original theatrical release of the Star Wars Trilogy, Mighty Ducks, Fern Gully...etc etc)! Heather and Theresa went above and beyond in helping me plan and cater a party for me. Heather was responsive and worked with me step by step to make the day special for all of us from planning and prepping decor to customizing the menu. Their positive can-do attitude really made the entire process fun and memorable for everyone (but especially me)! Love their frozen banana bites and chocolate covered frozen bananas! Our Group of 8 ppl all stopped in right after our rafting trip with River Journey (next door) It is a super cute vintage looking outside and inside. I ordered a cookies n cream shake and a one scoop bubble gum waffle cone. came to $10 with confetti sprinkles on top. I thought it was on the pricy side but did not complain. I asked if the ice-cream I ordered had bubblegum's in them and the lady said yes! and turns out it only had one tiny bubblegum in the whole one big scoop. I was seriously disappointed in that. 1 star - vintage surroundings 1 1/2 star - Kindness 1 star - A/C full blast on a hot day -1 star only 1 bubblegum in my ice-cream -1/2 bit pricy. This tasted great after hiking all day at knight's ferry. The fiance saw a sign for ice cream and decided to get it. I just had a basic cookie dough ice cream on a ice cream cone and he had a sprinkled chocolate waffle cone with ice cream. Of course his cone tasted great and ice cream on a hot spring day after hiking always taste good. This place is a little mom and pop shop which was very cute. Also its a nice place to check out after hiking all day. The prices seemed reasonable for ice cream. read more
