I was off on my daily run when I passed this place. After a week of running past, I decided to pop in and check it out. There is a lot of boxing memorabilia and even included local boxing figures, which was really cool. The proprietor Gabby, is very friendly, laid back and good at his profession. He said he was just finishing up and could take me in a few. As I waited a couple more people came in. I don't know if this was the day to get your hair cut or if this was the norm. I took a chance (and I am glad I did) when I first moved to the state last year (they do have great reviews across the board for good reason) and decided to walk in and see what they are about. My barber today was Gabe, and he lined me up like a pro. This is the happiest I've been with my hair in a long time. Charged me $15, and it was worth way more. He said he was able to do it so I put all my trust in him to not f*ck my hair up! I'm siting in the chair and he parts only the front left side, he showed me and I told him it was good. He doesn't even bother parting the back and just starts buzzing. I'm over here thinking he should know what he's doing or else he wouldn't have agreed to cutting my hair (a girl with hair down to her thighs). He starts from the front then started buzzing the back of my head. He stops and ask to see the picture, I pull it up and left it out. He goes back to the back of my head and starts buzzing the whole back. I immediately grabbed the back of my head and asked him if he left the V-part that I requested (the whole point of the picture reference) he tells me he did but it's just a little bit higher. THAT WAS A LIE. He continues to cut and gets to the other side. He parts it but never asked me to look at it or even bother looking in the front to see if it's even. I'm still over here thinking he knows what he's doing because he's over here telling me it's going to look so nice after all these things he's going to do to my hair like fading it. He finishes cutting my hair and it's the first time that I get to see the back. ITS COMPLETE WRONG, ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE WHAT I ASKED FOR. Not only was it not the V cut that I wanted but it wasn't even parted clean. It was like a child cut my hair. He tries to fix some parts after I was already upset. I was so pissed but didn't want to make a sense even though I should have. All my hair was gone! I was over it. I just wanted to get the hell out of there and away from this dude. We left and when we got home I looked in the mirror and the sides weren't even even. The right side (side he didn't show/ask me) was an inch higher than the left (the side how I wanted)! Now I look even more stupid because they're lopsided. I will NEVER let this dude TOUCH my hair again and you shouldn't either. I screw up by being nice, trying to cut everyone wait time and have some dude cut my hair. Some dude who just improvised and thought it would be a good idea to freehand and fucked up. He could have simply just parted my hair (just 2 curved line from the front to the back) and then cut it. COMMON SENSE! Word of advice, don't agree to cut someone's hair just for money. If you're not confident or know dam well you're not even going to get it half as close to what they want then just say NO. Say no like the guys who said they didn't want you to cut their hair because they'd rather wait for someone else. Oh and btw, he claimed to have used a #2 on the top and sides but really one side was shorter (#1). Now I have longer hair on the back and on one side.. GREAT.
