A local favorite of mine, Knot Norm's is my pick for best seafood in the area. Despite its size, this corner cafe has the ability to consistently provide top notch local seafood that puts the majority of other restaurants to shame. My absolute favorite dish here is their fried oyster sandwich. The combination of seasonings and sauces with a light fried batter makes for a perfect lunch meal to keep the day going without feeling sluggish. Service is great, they do a fantastic job keeping the kitchen and bar clean. They host a variety of local beer that I find way more appealing than the usual international drafts. They also put together you're meal incredibly fast while never sacrificing quality. The furnishing is the only thing that I don't absolutely love. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it. But the whole place almost seems too bright if that makes sense. I absolutely recommend! read more

Am I missing something here? Someone tell me what's truly good to get. We ordered 2 bowls. They were out of fish tacos. The sauces were so incredibly salty, as if the chef poured the entire salt shaker in. I was actually going to go back in to return our 2 take-out meals but felt badly...restaurants have a hard enough time through all these crazy years.. Though this place is always packed. Save yourself and your wallet. The $40 lobster rolls come slathered in mayonnaise- yet the menu does not list mayonnaise at all. When brought to their attention- they weren't even apologetic and didn't even offer to fix it. The buffalo wings came slathered in blue cheese sauce- also not mentioned on the menu. If I could give them 6 stars I would. The restaurant is a bit on the small side but it makes you feel comfortable and cozy. This is they type of place where you feel like you are on vacation and are stopping in for lunch after the beach or a nice walk. The staff was quick to seat us and explain the menu. They had a wide array of specialty beers; I decided to go with the guayabera (which happens to be my favorite shirt to wear in the summertime. It was perfect. For starters we ordered the half dozen oysters which were perfect. They were meaty and the cocktail sauce was perfectly spicy to kick it up a notch. For our lunch entree I had the brisket roll and my gf had the duck roll. Simply put my mouth and taste buds were dancing. The brisket was so tender and flavorful. There was so much brisket on the sandwich, I could barely get done with it, but I did. The Korean bbq was perfect. Be prepared to ask for more napkins or wet naps because it is that type of sandwich, but trust me you will not mind it. I absolutely loved it. My gf had the duck roll and she was blown away. Normally she is never the type to finish her meal but this time she could not stop herself from going back to her roll. Cute little place right on the water. I saw them a lot on instagram and decided to check them out on Friday afternoon for lunch. I split a lobster roll and the pork belly roll with a friend. Both were superb. We asked Jay the process behind the meats and how they were cooked. You can tell that Jay takes pride in his cooking and you can definitely tell that he has taken the time to perfect the recipes. The lobster roll was LOADED with lobster chunks and a perfect amount of buttery goodness. It wasn't heavy and just right for lunch. The pork belly, also very, very good, was slow cooked to its tenderness and all its juicy flavors. The atmosphere really adds charm to the place. The fact that it on the water and that it is very nautical themed makes you feel on a beach town, and not in the middle of Fairfield County. I'll definitely need to make my way towards East Norwalk more often now. read more

We have bought oysters from Copps Island and we wanted to try Knot Norm's for a lobster roll. Two orders of lobster bisque and shared one lobster roll in a hot dog roll cost $74. Our mistake was ordering without asking what the market price, or MP, was for the sandwich. I am appalled at the price but even more so at the lack of clear menu signage and the failure of the server/waitress to warn us that what we were asking for was pricey. I don't understand where al these 5-star ratings are coming from. A family of 11 happily ordered a range of seafood and some brisket -- and awarded 5 stars? Did they get a bill for the food? We will not be back -- ever. This is a very poor way to run a business. If Norm is involved, he should be ashamed. read more

The $17 lobster bisque you get at take out is absolutely comical. I almost want a refund. $17 for a half cup of soup with two small pieces of lobster. Maybe I could consider this if the soup was phenomenal but I didn't even finish it. Calf Pasture Beach has better lobster bisque than this for half the price! Called it in and was told it would be ready in 10 mins ended up waiting for 30 mins. No greetings at the door while servers walked back and forth past me while looking me in the eye. So good! Wish we tried this place earlier! The outdoor seating is great and the food is presented so nicely- I love the pot the steamed clams come in and their bread is sooooo good. I'd go back just for the bread alone. It's a small thing but I love how they give you 2 bags of chips with your rolls/tacos. The best seafood in a very seafood-packed area. The lobster roll is what you go for, but all the rolls are fantastic and the soup special is also absolutely to die for. The place is small but cute and very clean, and they have a pretty extensive variety of beers and wines. Wouldn't recommend for a fancy romantic date night, but somewhere to take friends/family/partners/strangers if you want to impress them with your ability to sniff out the best seafood restaurant in the Fairfield County area. It's an odd little place, wasn't sure if I order at the counter or there is table service. Ordered at the counter and then told I could pay later. Well I just paid there, since I was standing there and added a tip. Food: WOW. The chowder was excellent and presented nicely in a bowl. The place is very cool atmosphere, well designed... decor, even bathrooms were pleasant & classy (SONOs speaker). Staff was very pleasant and even though we had two minor food issues they were professional and the issues were handled promptly. The soup came out more luke warm, they promptly addressed and fixed. I got the pork belly roll, but it was extremely fatty. I politely let the waitress know at the end of the meal as a courtesy for improvement (and not expecting anything in return). The owner promptly came out, apologized and explained that he agreed it was an overly fatty piece and proactively removed it from the bill (even though I said it was not necessary). We enjoyed the rest of our meal -- it was all well presented, nice and eclectic drink selection, food was overall good, loved the atmosphere and staff was pleasant and well trained. Extra plus owner was on-site and proactively addressed items. Would definitely go back! read more

I had the best Lobster Roll of my life y'all. I'm not even playing. I was in Norwalk doing some shopping and when I'm in CT I have to grab a Lobster Roll, it's only right. Knot Norm's was the closest and 5 Stars across the board! So I had to see what was up. This Lobster Roll had CHUNKS of Lobster. Not playing! Sorry there's no picture to back my story up... but it was so damn delicious! The bread was buttery and there was some type of spread on the roll that made it all work. I had the chicken wings and tacos. The chicken was fried to perfection as they make your food to order so it's very crispy. The pineapple tacos were amazing the taste and toppings made it very flavorful. I called in my order to eat at home and it was ready when I arrived.
